>got the shitty/faulty batch of joycons from switch launch
>left joy con keeps disconnecting/has lag in general, interference
>rang store and they let me switch it for a new one free of charge
what are the ones of me getting a faulty one again, Sup Forums?
Got the shitty/faulty batch of joycons from switch launch

100% according to fags desperate to see this fail
I got my Switch with no problems whatsoever, so probably not that high.
nintendos support is taking them in for a free repair. I called them today.
Nintendo's acknowledging the issue and is going to correct it. Some kind of conductive foam, or so I heard?
Anyway, if you don't feel like rolling the dice, you might want to wait until confirmation that Nintendo's rolled out the newer variant. That, or use your manufacturer's warranty and send it to Nintendo itself, which is what I did for my niece's Switch when her blue Joy-Con started acting up.
They haven't acknowledged the dock scratch issue.
Is it a real issue or just shitposters?
I live in freaking Brazil and there's no Nintendo support here
Basically I'm fucked up if this doesn't work, and I paid around ~800 usd bucks for this piece of shit. that's literally how much they were averaging in South America
This happened to me.
Went to Gamestop today, gave them my faulty joycons and got a new pair from them.
The new pair doesnt have any problems.
Just fuckers who don't take care of things properly. Probably the same people who broke their DS's hinge in a few months when I still have mine from over a decade ago and its still in pristine condition.
Now that I couldn't say. The dock's design is rather poor, but most of the people who've vocally complained about them are e-celebs with ham hands. It could go either way, but I'm leaning towards "It's a legitimate issue, but faggots with an agenda are blowing it out of proportion".
I'm so sorry dude. That's fucked.
Call nintendo, they'll sort it out.
Did you try booting up the switch connected to wifi with the joycons in?
I hear that fixes it, but I can't confirm cause I did it right away
That's what you get for living in a third world shithole.
Do you know whether you have a bad batch one or not depending on the serial number or something?
My left joycon seems to start skipping a little bit (not bad, but noticeable in the calibration test, no longer smooth circles) at about 11ft+ away
Is that how it is meant to be then?
no regrets though, still get to play botw
did you not read where I say there's no nintendo support in south america/brazil?
Will they take back their shitty pixelated screens?
Wrong, some docks are shaped wrong.
It's not a "design flaw" like most shitposters try to claim, it's defective units
But have you tried calling nintendo?
I noticed a tiny scratch on mine the day my screen protector came, which was probably after a few days of using the Switch. I'd recommend getting a protector or putting something in the dock to anyone.
I noticed my left joycon won't respond if I dip my arms too far down or something. Should I send it in?
nah I'm not basing this off serial numbers, no info was leaked regarding those afaik. that seems normal tho if you can still play it on your couch with no input lag
yeaah been playing it handheld since it's an issue but sending them out tomorrow. Still zelda was worth it. Sad I dont get to do splatoon though.
if that's true I have a faulty dock too to top it off. it didn't pass the penny test
luckily already got my glass screen protector on tho
send it to nintendo, its free. I got a screen protector aswell but no scratches.
>there's no nintendo support in south america/brazil?
My chilean friend has had support from them before, you should try calling them.
I think I will then. I want to pick up a pro controller first so I don't have to wait weeks in case I want to play something.
They told me one business week and I live in the US. I wish I could get a procontroller but you know they're hard to find.
I wonder if defective units all comes together somehow
Like you either get them all proper, or all fucked
I guess I can. Both positions I would play from 99% of the time are fine and not too far from the Switch.
It is funny though. I can be 4 meters away and the left joy-con (right one is perfect anyway) works just fine, but the moment I put my left index finger on the shoulder button, so kind of "blocking" the upper end of it, it starts to skip a bit
>sending stuff to Chile when I can just walk in
to a local store and get them exchanged
nah, would rather run a small risk of failure
it's possible
I was thinking of buying a new set of joy-cons in say 1-2 months when surely no bad batches are left out there and then returning the package but instead putting my old joy-cons in there (or whichever set works worse), but I don't want to get in trouble
Do you think amazon would actually look for the serial numbers on the joy-cons to check if someone returned the exact same ones?
err, I would return if it were my system. mine behaves similarly but I guess I'm mostly pissed because it cost me 800 bucks after all
this is wrong, I love my Switch and my left joycon has issues. I use a pro controller most of the time in docked mode though.
I'm gonna call them tomorrow and see about sending it in then.
make sure you mention you already tested it with another joy-con
I called today and the woman there said "well if you didn't test it with a different set of joy-cons yet you have to send your entire system in, but if you did then you can just send a single joy-con in for repair"
thanks for the tip, I'll make sure to lie and say my buddy's joycon doesn't have the issue.
I'd rather buy a new left joycon than send my switch away for weeks or months.
My lady that I got didnt say I needed to test it with other joycons. wat
>trying to play vidya
>on brazil
who knows
as usual I'm sure every customer service rep you speak to says different things
They acknowledged it by discretely pulling the dock from sale
Never had these issues.
yuh depends on how nice they were, I got a cute grill named ally. Very nice, I have to send in my right one aswell since both dont work.
>What are the ones
???
when you say "don't work", how bad was it?
my right one is really strong, my left one starts getting problems at 10 feet
LOL
both get problems at 5feet and puppy ears are awful with it aswell. literally have nothing near my switch.
I meant odds, retard
not him but if I'm close they both work fine but when I was playing 2 player Fast RMX with a grip on the weekend I noticed issues that I haven't had with my pro controller.
guys, just google Nintendo Switch - 32GB Gray Console and The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
no call nintendo you dumb fuck
It's legitimately a shitty design choice/oversight and I'm surprised they let it slip
It's easy to fix yourself though with 50 cents and a few minutes of your time
Lol, that's only going to exacerbate the problem. The closer the contact, the more likely some grain of dust scratches the screen.
That was my feeling, which is why I didn't do anything to my dock.
Just wish Nintendo had used optically bonded glass like most smart phones and tablets. The LCD panel they use would look better and it would be harder to scratch.
And easier to shatter...
Face it, plastic is the way for handhelds, its just a thing now due to people blowing the scratches out of proportion.
>And easier to shatter...
nigger, have you used a modern smart phone? The LCD panel behind the plastic touch surface in the switch is more likely to crack than gorilla glass.
It's not a design choice
It only scratches if your dock was fucked up being made
no-uh.
Here's a way you can fix it if you're actually interested in it

>Gorilla Glass easier to break than PlaySchool grade plastic
What?
I...Wha...Is he gonna...Is that so he can
You can't be serious.
I really don't fucking understand what they were thinking when they made this thing the way it is. Like, why the FUCK is there no piece of cloth or felt on the inside already? Why would they make it like that?
I wonder how long it will take for third parties to make their own Switch docks.
>The amount of people that will scratch the fuck out of the bottom from missing that plugin because they can't visually see what they're doing
Gotta test it
>yfw tested wrong joycon
About 50% of the electronics in the dock is in simple terms drm. Remember how iPhones used to not charge or work if you didn't use apple brand cables/cords? Problem was cables and the wall outlet devices were worth so little it was hard to sue for damages that were worth it. Since the dock is "90$" each 5 dollar dock someone pumps out can be taken to court for over 15 times the value it really is
>Some kind of conductive foam, or so I heard?
You sound like Joseph from The Evil Within.
l-loss
Do you have to call them up or can you do it online without them charging you?
Jesus motherfuckers write properly look the shit you writing
why not just get a screen protector? That shit will just collect even more dust.
I just use my pro controller because I finally did experience the desync when I was like 2 feet away from the switch. Only thing blocking it's path was my thigh.
it's a design flaw
you might not experience the problem but that's because you're close enough to the system to not notice it
Looks like it'd overheat it, or just make it hotter than it needs to be
anybody get the new NeoGeo port
it's p fun
vent are on the top and lower back
gets pretty hot though. especially the sd card slot if you use a cheap one
