Final boss is defeated by the power of friendship

>final boss is defeated by the power of friendship
>friends sacrifice themselves to protect the MC

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Nier Automata.

final boss is a suffering god that wants to die

Not really a suffering God, but did kefka even give a shit by the end of it all? He went on about destruction, but really didn't leave the tower after he went god mode.

>japanese game
>final boss is god

>you are the mc
>your friends are all over the world

He made a tower out of corpses, and the rest of the world was slowly dying, with no real way to reverse the power. Even killing him didn't solve anything. Why on earth would he leave?

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

>character you meet at the beginning of the game is a temporary party member

>alitwi
Reee stop triggering me

Makes sense. Was just thinking about why he didn't go down and systematically eradicate what was left. Sitting in a tower all day seems kind of boring.

Because he was using the cleansing light sporadically, just to fuck with things.

He was basically what would happen if nobody even bothered to try stopping the Joker. He'd just get bored.

Name 4 SE games where this happens. Specifically games AFTER the SE merger.

>the marketting department IS the final boss

Dragon's dogma

FFX, FFX2, Drakengard 2, Nier Automata.

>characters sacrifice themselves to defeat the big bad/save someone else's life,
>even though none of them tried at all to find another way
>didn't even put up a fight
>just said "screw it, I'm dying to save everyone"
Do these characters not have any self-preservation instinct?

>Final boss is defeated by technology, MC sacrifices himself.
>Final boss is defeated by cute girls, guns and memories, no sacrifices are made, one is actually reversed.
Close, but no cigar, buddy.

No,no, no aaaand... no. Now go and acctually play those games instead of boing a faggot :^)

wat game

It's an anime.

>Characters sacrifice themselves throughout the game to help the party or to defeat the main villain
>Only one actually dies

Still best game

wat anime then?

>Final boss is defeated by technology, MC sacrifices himself.
They literally had the choice between sacrificing one of the guardians to become the next Sin, or Tidus could quietly sacrifice himself.

If you wanna argue X2, that's more fair, but then I would turn to NieR. Sacrifice, along with, "No Kaine! You can't die! We're FRIENDS NOW!"

>game ends with the MC giving a huge robot to one of five factions, or turning it on yourself and killing the MC in the process.

Punchline. I don't remember the exact circumstances, just that the MC was too eager to sacrifice himself.

X still didn't have any friend sacrifices and no power of friendship. Or what, all possible plot points count now?

Persona 4

Not him, but you can also count Kingdom Hearts.

Yup. Sorah sacrificed himself, and the power of light/friendship beats the final boss. Riku and Mickey also stays behind to seal the guy in the darkness.

>lesbians form a crystal pillar to stop the satellite habitat from falling into the planet

Persona 3

>The enemy military commander guy's secretary/fuckbuddy is the ancient evil

>You are bringer of death
>Your jailers fight you to their death knowing you can not be killed
>You appreciate their resolve and sacrifice so much that you betray your own kind and fight them to save planet.

>Edgy social Darwinist villain

FF4?

>Our village is so peaceful
>The big wedding is tomorrow
>Hey protag could you go do something

If you play Final Fantasy games and you're over 16, you should really be very embarrassed. Clichéd, corny and repetitive -- tacky, generic anime character design and world building from a speedo intellectual with a powerful graphics engine taking a walk over a Latin text book.

IV and VI were good -- then the canned melodrama and mad god/ancient evil taken down by the sacrificial prince/atoning paladin/amnesiac soldier (read broody, faux conflicted protagonist with sex appeal and just little enough personality to project onto).
Play some Dragon Quest if you want an RPG -- or some SMT.

*pseudo

>final boss time travels to the past, kidnaps a god, becomes a god himself and creates his own world
>Did everything for his waifu, who ends up cucking him and joining the MC

Yes

Literally no FF game ever

>the lesbian crystal tower is slowly disintegrating
>the main villain is largely dicking about waiting for nature to take its course
>he only really steps in when npcs are about to fix the tower

>the publisher is the final boss

The only JRPG I've actually seen that happen is Legend of Dragoon. I guess Golden Sun too but the protag wasn't outside the village at the time it was destroyed, and it gets rebuilt anyway.

Xenogears

Nope.

But you don't leave the town, mechs land and Fei goes cuhrazy

Oh shit I forgot about that.

You leave town to go to that crazy old hermit's place.

you leave town to go to the professor's house, come back and the mechs are there

O rite. Well it's been like 7 years.
Still when you get back shit isn't fucked totally till Fei goes literal nuke mode iirc

Xenogears.

I think Legend of Legaia 2 was like this. There was even a gem iirc. I think this image might be based on that.

Not SE but Tales of Phantasia

Not a JRPG but Fable does this too.
