>Favourite village Rito. Love birds, sorry >Favourite weapon Electric spear, especially during rain >Favourite memory The one with link knighted >Hours played 105 >strongest Exploration >Weakest Dungeons >mechanics durability with different weapon types, but increase the durability by 2x and make weapon switching real time >design philosophy Making the open world that is truly open in what you can do >what to avoid Uhhhh I see no big red flags. So nothing?
>Favourite village Hateno I guess. It's pretty from every angle. >Favourite weapon Royal Claymore >Favourite memory The one where zelda isn't a whiny bitch. I haven't found it yet. >Hours played Last I checked it was 80 or 90 so probably 120 now >what you think is the strongest aspect of the game Muh physics >what you think it is weakest Shrines are shit. Should have integrated the puzzles into the world better. >what mechanics and design philosophies you want to carry over to the sequel physics >which ones you want them to avoid Durability is tedious as is, could be fixed with some tweaks. Game makes it too easy to just run in a straight line through everything regardless of the hazards it throws at you. Just a touch more metroid influence would be nice.
Nathaniel Young
The music in this game, in general, is fantastic. Fuck, this hits the same spot as the first time i landed on the beach of Dragon Roost.
Asher Fisher
I think this Goron city is my favourite one. The music and facial animations nailed it, it makes me smile everytime.
Ryan Harris
Does the Blood Moon actually have any sort of effect on cooking food/potions? Also, what's the best recipie/use for the dragon scales?
Luis Robinson
Yeah... I was so happy to hear dragon roost island theme again. Wish there was a little more substance to the place though. The others felt more fleshed out.
Christopher Barnes
>Durability is tedious as is They should add repair vendors, but not cheap repairs, and don't let them add a durability meter. Just let me take my almost broken sword and repair it somewhere. Doesen't even have to be the same place for each item.
Asher Peterson
>Favourite village Gerudo village. >Favourite weapon I believe it's called savage lynel sword >Favourite memory The one where Ganon arises, because all the characters come together. >Hours played 90hrs >what you think is the strongest aspect of the game Sense of adventure and discovery. >what you think it is weakest Framerate. >what mechanics and design philosophies you want to carry over to the sequel The systematic design and the non-lineal structure. >which ones you want them to avoid None, I'm pretty happy with everything that is in BotW and would gladly take a BotW2. I just want more of everything: More enemies, more rewards outside of shrines and Koroks. Sidequests could be better ; maybe at least one sidequest per Town that has a captivating story to it (See: Kafei's quest in MM).
James Robinson
F-fuck you
Logan Walker
are there female gorons? is there any dimorphism between male and female gorons? i saw a goron in gerudo town
James Phillips
There's also very little progression. You get your tools at the start of the game and that's it. You can now do every all of the content in the game with a bit of cooking, and it only gets easier.
Logan Barnes
yeah that and let you add durability+ to them.
Anthony Harris
>and it only gets easier
I see someone never tried to loot Ganon's Castle. Shit is practically a Dark Souls section early on.
Chase Lopez
I love that about it. It's a comfy dynamic. Nothing between you and a sense of discovery.
Josiah Nelson
Where/how do I get the best horse possible?
Currently my best horse is 4-3-4 but I hear you can get horses with two 5s
Christian Cruz
I think the lot of them are technically genderless but seem to identify as male? That's why the couple in Gerudo Town are kinda confused why they were let in.
Isaiah Stewart
ganonhorse is pretty good as is epona
Josiah Thomas
>Get on the camel beast >Get motion sickness while looking outside
Adam Smith
it's laughably easy if you're wearing the stealth armor.
Christian Sullivan
>buying amiibos I love this game, but no fucking thanks.
Christopher Green
I have Ganonhorse already, I was hoping there was a way to like farm horses to get rank 5s to spawn maybe
I'm mostly finished the game, want to get the best of everything before beating Ganon
Dominic Adams
isn't there a big ass horse somewhere in the south? you get a quest by one of the stables.
Noah Myers
>not pirating amiibos
Angel Thomas
>maybe at least one sidequest per Town that has a captivating story to it This would be the biggest improvement I think. Like something in addition to the quests with the main characters like Yunobo, Riju, etc
Jackson Scott
>. You get your tools at the start of the game and that's it.
But that's its selling point, being able to go anywhere and have a hard time at first, but then come back and stomp everything. There should be a bigass sign telling you to try to deafeat Ganon before beating the blights and then do it again endgame.
Henry Kelly
If you cook from 11:30 until the cinematic, it'll make your cooking/elixirs better. Not sure by how much but enough to make it worth it.
With the dragon scales, you'll need a few of them for shrine quests, and some more for late-game armor upgrades, so I'd refrain from cooking them.
Luis Cruz
Oh that's a thing too? I'm new to all of this stupid Nintendo gimmickry.
Andrew Hall
That's worse than name it "asshole" you know?
Luke Phillips
You don't even get that armor that until Kakariko. It's not like it does you much good anyway when the majority of the place is literally teeming with monsters. Stealth is near worthless there.
Justin Cook
Since I find the horses very frustrating except for a few places where you kinda need them, I've named mine "UGH CMON," "STOPPPP," and "DORF HORS."
You can probably guess which one is ganon's horse.

>Favourite village Gerudo town
>Favourite weapon Probably that sheika claymore. Looks pretty badass.
>Favourite memory The first one with link being knighted. The character interaction was great and it was genuinely surprising learning how salty was zelda about link.
>Hours played 70-80
>what you think is the strongest aspect of the game Exploration. Finding new corners and places is always great.
>what you think it is weakest The rewards for exploration. It's boring knowing there's a shrine in the middle of a huge maze, and it's also boring knowing that the reward is not gonna be better than something you can find on a random enemy camp.
>what mechanics and design philosophies you want to carry over to the sequel How fresh the world feels. It's beautifully designed and knowing you can approach it however you want is just addictive. You literally don't know when to stop playing.
And more hyrule castle style dungeons. Like, lots of them. It's perfect.
>which ones you want them to avoid I really need better rewards after completing certain tasks. Shrines aren't a bad idea and i like them, but i rather have less of them and work on something different as a finale to the more fleshed out sidequests. And/or unique gear from them.
Chase Morgan
Why? Unless you are that kind that you get motion sick easily
Brandon Reed
The way the camel moves did it for me, but yeah I get sick easily.

>Favourite village Zora. The music is still relaxing and I like the design of the buildings >Favourite weapon Any and all bows but if I had to choose it would be the Rito bows. I've done archery myself and can't get enough of them in games >Favourite memory I've yet to collect them all but I liked the one with Link training under a tree with the bridge in the background. It's comfy yet gives a lot of information. >Hours played Haven't been counting but a lot. >what you think is the strongest aspect of the game The freedom. In OoT I always wanted to explore everything right away but you couldn't, in BoTW you're only limited by yourself. >what you think it is weakest Weapon durability. The mechanic is fine enough but after a certain point you should either be able to restore the Master Sword back to how it was in previous games, or pay a blacksmith to fix your weapons so those that want to keep the durability can, and those who don't have the option. >what mechanics and design philosophies you want to carry over to the sequel For mechanics it might sound silly but I would like customization to play a bigger role. I like making Link my own Link and would like to see that expanded to individual clothes like gloves and boots as well as shields and weapons. As for design? They've hit the nail on the head with BoTW so all they need to do is build on what they've got. >which ones you want them to avoid Moblins. I'm so fucking sick of them and ready for proper Stalfos, Wolfos, shit like that to return.
Added note: I would like the Twili realm to return as well. I adore that place and everything in it. If we can have robots and tablets that powerup with tears then I'm sure they can make a new mirror.

And finally voiceacting, I think this game would do better without it and if they decide to do it again I really hope they choose more experienced/talented voiceactors instead of amateurs like they seemed to have done with this game. I'd rather have no voiceacting but if they do it next time I hope it's better than it was in this game.

But for example, when approaching Vah Naboris in the sandstorm, I wanted to be scared of being trampled, and for the sheer weight of my adversary to shake the ground before me and make me question the fact that I'm even attempting to approach it. I know this is a cheap comparison but Dark Souls bosses give me that feeling and I wanted to feel that facing a boss the size of an actual dungeon.
>what mechanics do I hope they maintain the nonlinearity, open-worldedness without having 500 waypoints blaring at you from the minimap or compass at all times

Zelda's frustration with the powers that refuse to come to her made her much more compelling to me. I really liked the one in the Castle as well. >Hours played 80 >what you think is the strongest aspect of the game If I could be really specific it would be the level design in Hyrule Castle, one of the best levels of all time. Generally speaking the strongest aspect of the game was mobility. You can cross one small river by: sailing a raft across, jumping over cryonis blocks, swimming across, using Revali's Gale to fly over it, shield surfing down the slope and flinging yourself across with the inertia, making something to catapult yourself across using magnesis, using Stasis and clinging onto a big box that you beat the shit out of, riding a horse around it altogether...It's perfect. >what you think it is weakest Enemy variety. Daniel Morales
I see no problem.
Carson Harris
>Recycled buildings like every stable being the same
This serves a good practical function as a recognizable landmark from a distance. Though I do agree in trying to give each a little more personality. But I'd argue for retaining the basic shape and structure.
Nathan Smith
wait at a fire until they restock
also, do the Tarrey Town quest, because the vendor there will end up selling like 50 arrows of each type every time they resupply
Wyatt Barnes
nope, they dont ever restock even when I rest at a fire right infront of them or miles away
Jayden Mitchell
Zora's Domain Edge of Duality or Great Thunderblade Link eats a frog Dunno I'm on a Switch Grand scale Piss-easy final boss and lacklustre ending I liked in the Vah Ruta mission and the Lost Woods how they restricted you with the environment for the specific missions that took place there, so if the next game is BotW styled I'd like to see more of that because it can force you into situations that involve more overworld puzzle solving Forced crossdressing
Lucas Adams
Arrows are at a huge premium until mid-late in the game. It might just be tough shit but doing the Tarrey Town quest definitely helped my arrow situation.
Cooper Collins
the thing is I already did this quest and I have over 600 arrows its just silly that they wont restock, is this a balance thing or something
Blake Sullivan
holy shit lmao maybe you just have too many arrows? seems like a non-problem until you need them

Sheika like system that gives you item to interact with the world and solve puzzle. Instead of having item that were designed for dungeon and not for the world.(Hi previous zelda)
The real open world as zelda should have been in the first place.
Freedom of choice and multiple approach.
>which ones you want them to avoid Rethink the reward and end game items.

>Favourite village Tarrey Town, definitely. The town-building quest was great. It's the only side quest I've actually enjoyed thus far, and the music is great >Favourite weapon broadswords. I pretty much juggle between the Royal Broadsword, Royal Guard's Sword, Master Sword, and Guardian Sword++ >Favourite memory not a cutscene memory, but I loved the King's diary If I had to choose a cutscene, then I really liked the central hyrule forest one I also really liked the one that took place with Urbosa inside of Vah Naboris >Hours played Probably close to 200 >what you think is the strongest aspect of the game The environments and early-game exploration >what you think it is weakest The worldbuilding and late-game exploration. There's no incentive to explore beyond "Let's get shrine # 2,568!" There's no random lore tidbits in the ruined towns, and no good loot just hidden around in the world. I would have liked more armors and weapon types to incentivize the player to go out and explore as well as, as I just mentioned, lore. What if you could find tattered diaries in the ruined villages that explained what happened before the calamity and how people felt in their last moments. Maybe some of those diaries could have had shrine quests behind them or told the player about locations of hidden loot. Also, I would have loved traditional dungeons hidden around the world that had nothing to do with the story but provided a good challenge to players that wanted to explore. Maybe hide items or weapons that help with exploration behind them, like different shiekah runes or even stuff like an unbreakable (but low-damage) boomerang or hookshot >what mechanics and design philosophies you want to carry over to the sequel The open world, weapon durability, combat, minidungeons >which ones you want them to avoid barebones story, barebones dungeons, lack of items
This is coming from a lifelong Nintendofag, but even I find the way the internet is gushing over this game to be cringe city. Some random neckbeard twitter user will post some small, insignificant detail in the game and, and it will suddenly be the new poster child for "HOLY SHIT, THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!!!"
>some random NPC mistakes Link for wanting to jump off a bridge >OMG BEST GAME EVARR! >Moblins will throw Bokoblins when they're out of weapons >OMGBEST GAEM EVRRRR!!! >Characters have custom dialogue when Link has no clothes on >OOFMMMGSSSS BESTEST GAMMEEE EV4RRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it shows how awful video game culture has become, and how little we value actual gameplay elements, instead favoring individual points or details that can be memed and shared in 140 characters or less.
That said, I do like the game. It's got plenty of flaws, but it's also pretty fun and addicting for the exploration factor.
Justin Green

>weakest
These. The story felt bland and the reward system was lacking. Why explore if you already know the only things out there in the world are shrines and weapons that will soon break? What if there were items or new shiekah runes out there in the world? Also, this too. Enemies are lacking in variety, severely. There should be some enemies in the world that tie into the exploation aspect. Let's say that there's a miniboss or even full boss out in the world that requires a specific item to defeat, but you have to just explore the world or do sidequests to unlock that item. I like the regular/blue/black/white/silver scaling system, but it would be better if there were more enemies in the world to make that fun. why aren't there poes in the cemeteries? Why aren't there giant bosses in places like the forgotten temple like gleeok? I feel like this massive world would have been much more rewarding to explore if there were things like boss fights or unique enemies to fight hiding around.

Didnt realize you could swim up waterfalls, scale mountains with ease, be immune to the elements, make thunderstorms work for you instead of against, and acquire over 3 damn good magical abilities.
Oh wait, getting new completely unique armor, heart pieces, and magical abilities isnt a good reward in a zelda game apparently.
