Name a flaw.
Pro-tip: you can't.
Name a flaw.
Pro-tip: you can't.
I can't.
Origins had just the right amount of consolization to make it fun and accessible without being a dumbed down shitfest.
>Electronic Arts
the fade. deeproads. horrible replayability, I literally never made more than two characters because I couldn't re-do it
flawless: morrigans pussy mound outline while she's in panties
I think that was unironically my favorite part of the game.
It has some nimor flaws like:
>boring dungeons like dwarfs tunnels
>balance issues
>fucking blood covering your character
>main story is bad overall(dude ancient evil lmao)
I've never played it. I'm going to download it now. Should I bother with the whole series? I don't mind if 2 and 3 aren't as good, I do mind if they ruin the first.
The faces of Morrigan and Leliana. Good thing you can mod them.
>dude ancient evil lmao
Name a better rpg plot.
Between the game, DLC and Awakening, this game has so much content and really feels like a vast adventure. Ending the game with Witch Hunt is also incredibly satisfying.
The game was pretty much done when EA came into the picture. All they're responsible for is the Marilyn Manson dudebro marketing.
baldurs gate
planescape torment
fallout
nwn mask
sequels
Bugs, lots of pointless skill, every area drags on for too long, ugly
origins was really the only dragon age
Generic RPG medieval fantasy
Combat is lackluster
The fade and deeproads
Loading times are shit and way too frequent
Its like that average girl that hangs around ugly friends to make herself look better. DA:O is only great because you can look back retrospectively at what bioware has become.
who /firstrpg/ here?
i love playing crpg games but when i started DA:O i simply dropped it within an hour
>3 race
>3 classes
>skill trees looks like shit you find in mmorpg
only that made me not want to play
The Fade
random encounters that are harder than 99% of fights in the game with enemies that spam swarm infect
none of the zones really stand out
magic isn't very satisfying to use
Painfully generic
However, it is the Bioware game that is least like the other Bioware games, so that's a plus
I've never detected underage this hard before.
>2009 was 8 years ago
>someone who was 10 years old when it released is now old enough to play it
Nevermind.
EA, Bioware
Names two
Double check and mate good sir.
You can turn off blood iirc
How to spot ADD numales: ctr+f "fade"
Gameplay wise it was fine on hardest difficulty
Leliana wasn't fleshed out as much as lots of the other companions, the one good thing about Inquisition is her reconciling her faith with her past as an assassin and spy, culminating in being elected Divine (After being Softened since she's hardened by default regardless of whether she was Hardened in Origins)
Avernus and his research into Warden physiology should've probably been more than a footnote, it has some pretty huge ramifications (especially with how retarded they act in the third game)
I actually like the Deep Roads for the claustrophobic dungeon crawling, but the Fade is pretty shit.
Can't become a Reaver without going total edgelord. I actually like the way the specialization was handled in Inquisition, where it's about consuming dragon blood to gain superhuman strength at the potential cost of foul temperament and bloodlust. Cassandra mentions how a lot of dragonslayers in her family partook of the blood and got addicted, took more and more and eventually went frothing mad. Iron Bull asks if you have a new cologne because you smell good and dragon-y.
Overall origins is far and away the best game in the series and the last Bioware game I really enjoyed without having to outright ignore major aspects
That's a nice healer you have there
Would be a shame if someone casted Crushing Prison on her
Braindead repetitive combat
1 dimensional bioware characters
Story that belongs in a young adult ficton novel
Boring derivative gameworld
Level design? What level design?
There's five
The flaw is that I can't name one exceptional thing about the game either.
Atmosphere? Surely you can give it that.
DAI is better
Say it.
>dwarfs tunnels
This, I dropped the game here.
Also castrated game mechanics.
Claudia Black is definitely exceptional.
I really ought to finish watching Farscape
easy, the game is generic as fuck
very low effort: elf human and dwarf, rogue warrior and mage
I dropped it in the Fade, the game is just uninteresting
very little interesting material past the origins and main menu score
sry m80
agreed. she can touch my even horizon any time
Awesome game over-all. The only real criticism could be that it's ultra vanilla Tolkien fantasy, not trying anything new. But it does that very well.
fade(although i noticed non mage players like it)
deep roads(i quit for like 5 months after it)
i also hated most of the characters.
>Mfw were having regular Dragon Age Origins threads now
This will be something nice to break up the existential dread
I can't, my favourite last gen game.
Jesus Christ I'm triggered
>side quest you really have to dig to complete
>boss is rape incarnate
>10x harder than any actual boss in the game
looks like an indie game
made a real attempt to play this, got up to the part where you can choose where to go next, and realized that every battle is just 'attack or CC' abilities which you can use consecutively, its even easier once you get the healer
and whats worse, is the substance of the game is just voice actors endlessly talking to each other
why don't you faggots just read a book? why do things like this exist? people spent thousands of hours creating something that is less complicated than checkers, and not as entertaining as a low budget tv show
Why were Morrigan and Alistair's banter so perfect?
...
I think I might be the only person alive that actually liked the Deep Roads. Fade is still shit.
>I hated the fade
The casualiest of casual statements. The fade gives you fun transformations like burning man and golem. And does an amazing job of making it feel like you've been there for longer than you have (What actually happens to the player character in the fade.) Plus the nightmare sequences are in some cases strong scenes for the characters. All and all it's genuinely one of the best designed parts of the entire game.
THE DEEP ROADS. Is the real cancer. Dark, dreary, pretty much the same 10 art assets on repeat as you go through like 3-4 fucking zones of Dwarfshit doing THE SAME spider, darkspawn, and deep stalker fights forever. The Deep Roads literally has so many throwaway fights that it even has throwaway boss level mobs.
>Most of the companions are shallow shit
There's a 100% chance that anybody who sprouts this bullshit played through the game once, probably with a "canon team" like Alistair, Leliana, and Morrigan, got one, MAYBE two characters maxed out on approval, barely touched the other characters and therefor thinks they're shallow.
There is literally not a single character in Dragon Age Origins that doesn't have more going for them then whats on the surface level.
Mah nigga. It's really not that bad if you know what you're doing, combat-wise.
>The Archdemon
>Any way shape or form the focus of the plot
I dislike this image. Just because the motivations of the actors involved are ethically nebulous doesn't make the villain themselves good. The intent of the action is not the same as the action itself. If the villainous plot is to make all the sandwiches in the world a little less crusty so that they don't hurt people's mouths that's just asinine.
Anyone else feel like DAO would have been better if they focused on the Civil War instead of the Darkspawn?
It's not even that long, it's split up into 4 sections at which point you can go back to town and do something else.
The problem is people powerthrough the entire thing at once and then complain they spent 4 hours in the deeproads.
Are there any newer games with a similar battle system?
I mean even then you get 4 hour long chunks of dungeons but compare them in terms of quality to every other dungeon in the game.
Deep roads is shit.
DAI did pretty much everything better than Origins.
Okay.
Name 5 things DAI did better than Origins.
but you see user, the problem is that we've already played games like final fantasy, dragon quest, wow, skyrim, fucking tower defense, etc
where the followers just do what they're fucking told without argument, and there's more things to do that watch static, torso-only character models move their lips in sync to captain janeway
>irenicus not in shit with good va tier
