You know you can just make 2 different versions right?

For example in Dota 2 there is a hero whos jaw was basically falling off or other where you could see its guts, in chinsese version the first one had a metal thingy on jaw and the other one just had "normal" sawed belly.

Wow really needs a graphics and engine overhaul.
That looks way too good to be just part of another graphics update, and I doubt they'd do transfer to another engine. But WoW 2 seems even more far fetched.

Every mmorpg that has had "amazing graphics" has been a flop compared to wow.

Stylistically it looks like something they would do. And updated version of the goofy ass cartoony WoW look.

The buttons on the pants are what kill it for me. Is that really the way Blizzard would model those? Looks extremely amateur to me, which wouldn't be surprising with all the freshly graduated talent they've been hiring.

wow 2 starts 1000 years after the last expansion for wow 1 (legion). Legion ends with all heroes being destroyed in a biblical fight that shatters the burning legion and many cities on azeroth. Victory for the mortal races but with a great cost. 1000 years later, the old gods re-awaken. Start wow2

The most compelling reason would be that the original engine is out of date and is full of tons and tons of fucking bloat that's difficult to even manage anymore.

This is a retarded question to even ask. What the fuck do you mean by "progress"? Your levels? Why the fuck would you want to start a new game at max level? Your money? Items? This is really well done, but there are many instances in the past of a fan creating content like this for it to be believable. Blizzard has tons of fans and some of them happen to be able to produce high quality 3D Models. Pic related.

I came to Diablo 3 after it was already 1 or 2 years old, when they had patched out the AH and fixed all the crazy stuff, so I got to know it as just an amazing game

Cartoony is cheap and ages a lot better than other art styles. If you wanna make a game that lasts a few years, cartoony (or stylized in any way) is a good choice. Besides, Blizzard aims at kids.
