I just bought Metro 2033 and Last Light on sale, waiting for them to install now. never played these games before...
Played Last Light and thought it was an okay but very linear experience. Loaded up 2033 and played for an hour, got bored and haven't played it since. It's got none of the appeal of the STALKER games.
Two of the best shooters of the post 2010 era. Use Nvidia 3d vision
The first one is very good, the second one is a bit sloppier imho but still fun
Play on Ranger Hardcore for true cheeki breeki blyat experience
Really good. I played through the first before the second and recommend doing the same. The story from the first carries into the second and you won't realize what's going on unless you play them in order.
They're both good, but 2033 is better.
Artyom's voice in Last Light was disgusting.
First may be a bit janky but i think both are wery atmospheric and good. The books that these games are based are really good too
Hope you didn't buy Redux, it actively made the games worse. Overall they are very immersive survival FPSes. It's like STALKER-lite if they got even weirder with the mystical stuff. The gunplay is pretty good, the survival elements work well on harder difficulties, and overall they are fantastic games
Too linear.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R is better.
fun atmospheric fps with 0 replayability
it's a clunky shit made by a slav subhumans with their potato technology
Good games...
shredded like cabbage
The single best games I have ever played.
You've inspired me to reinstall.
Also don't listen to the fucking STALKER babbies.
Metro is superior to STALKER in literally every way with the sole exception that it's not open world. If you literally can't enjoy anything linear then you'll hate them, but they shit on STALKER in every aspect.
I'm stuck on LL where you get ambushed in that car graveyard surrounded by buildings
>you get ambushed in that car graveyard surrounded by buildings
The swamp part?
Original 2033 is goat, Last Light is pretty good but fails to be as impactful.
Both are still incredibly well done atmospheric games with great survival elements sharing bed with a regular FPS with nice little details, like manually checking your O2 amount and pumping the air gun.
While replayability is null because the game is a literal corridor, I still think it's a worthy play.
Play patiently, lisen to NPC's, take your time to choose targets and attack, just let the world absorb you. Also the books are very good if you can take in a ton of pages in a weekend.
You should play the original Metro 2033 instead of a """redux"""
2033 is a fun game, feels quite unique.
Second is a really good game - reminded me quite a bit of half life 2.
Definitely both worth a play. Use ranger difficulty though - don't play on anything else.
Some of the best story driven FPS of the decade.
Also, know this isn't the crowd, by Metro 2033 the book is a fairly easy going but very enjoyable read. Any of you vidya boi's want to get into reading it's a good starting point
I just bought them for 230 rubles on Xbox which is like 3.50 euro's and will sell my physical copy of redux for 10 euro's
Feels good
Literally linear, single-use only console FPS games, with quite fancy visuals and atmosphere. That's it.
Dont play the shitty Redux versions.
Be sure to play with russian audio and english subtitles, really adds to the immersion. Both great games.
No you dumb fuck. Metro is the one suffering FROM being so goddamn linear and scripted. Replay value is pretty much pure zero too in Metro games.
>metro suffers from linearity
Confirmed for you have no idea what you're talking about.
Metro is a story-driven game. Uncommon for a story-driven game to actually have good gameplay, yeah, but the game is literally just the book on rails. And that's fine.
If you got rid of that you'd be left with the serviceable but not fantastic shooting mechanics and... fucking nothing else. At all.
Metro is designed from the ground up to be what it is. If you made it less linear it would be a totally different game. You cannot have a non-linear Metro.
The scavenger DLC they did was cool, but it's not enough to be its own game and replacing the god-tier story of the first with fucking fetch quests would destroy all investment anyone has ever had in the game.
>muh replay value
Not every game has to be something you can play forever.
