Fanboys overhyping it.

The third chapter releases during finals week.

Nothing? It's a fantastic game and the PC localization sold well enough to warrant 3 more.

Basically this. Case in point

Just finished 1 today. While I found it a bit troupey, I did greatly enjoy it, even though I had a 5 months hiatus.
I kinda want to start on 2 now, but I am afraid that I will burn out, played 1 a lot lately.

Shit graphica compared to Cold Steel

>muh graphics

No shit it's going to get look. Trails in the Sky FC/SC/3rd came out way before Cold Steel.

>While I found it a bit troupey

Just call it cliche like it really is.

this

Calvard when?

>A game made in 2004 looks worse than one made in 2013

Oh, you don't say

Nothing went wrong.

Aside from SC selling like shit, you mean.

...

>like shit
wrong.

How many hours would it take to beat each?

FC: 30-40 hours
SC: 40-50 hours

50 80 70 60 70 70 80.
In order.

FC takes about 50 if you don't do sidestuff
SC takes about 80

Nothing. The only possible complain is that it's a 13-year-old game and it is not that fun to play these days, especially after Ao/Sen. Still a great game though.

Cheers.

Muh dialogue

There's nothing going for this game besides waifu faggotry and boring yourself to tears with dialogue

>especially after Ao/Sen

99% of people can't play those though

Sen is Cold Steel.

>especially after Ao/Sen
>Ao
Bullshit user, the only complainers are EOPs who haven't played Crossbell
And even then, I went backwards and played Zero/Ao before going back and finishing Sky, and still enjoyed them for what they were
The later arcs do add some QoL improvements but nobody is actually deluded enough to say that makes Sky unfun

Oh shid nevermind that then

My point stands on Ao though

I had a misfortune to play in first game like 4 years before the sequel got translated.
>that entire finale with Joshua
Fuck whoever stalled the translation.

Can't wait for Kevin's game, judging by translated prologue he and Ries may be as cute as Estelle/Joshua.

Do y'all like it when Brittany gets drunk and streams her unfinished games?

I played the first one a while back when it first came out. Battle difficulty was too high, every mob felt like a boss battle.

The option to skip animations makes the games much better. Fast travel makes the games much better. Field attacks, additional turn bonuses, EXP multiplier, introduction of dungeons where the higher elements are active, etc. add variety to gameplay.

I'm not saying that gameplay in Sora is bad, I'm saying that it has been improved a lot in later games.

Best girl's sidelined

What? Most of the game is piss easy save for a few surprisingly tough fights.

>Battle difficulty was too high
What? The first game is piss easy.

What? It's piss easy.

>The option to skip animations
Supposedly XSEED's release of 3rd is going to add that, and they're going to patch the older ones with that too

That said I don't disagree with that one, but I'm just saying, the reason why whiners shit on the series has nothing to do with that because they didn't even play the more up-to-date ones at all
In order to even get to the quality of life improvements Sen had, one would have to stomach the high school setting and characters, which anybody who couldn't even stand Sky FC would never be capable of doing anyway

Funnily enough, the perfect culmination of all those aspects, as well as the ultimate form of the quartz system, ended up in Akatsuki, which is basically a mobage so hardly anyone plays it, even among japs

Sen 2 felt fucking broken halfway through onwards when I could outspeed and delay bosses to such a degree that they actually couldn't attack me once before I kill them with a thousand tickles.
If they don't seriously revamp the combat in 3 it's going to be beyond fucked. They can't just add new and more powerful abilities to that.

>piss easy mind

I agree. Sen II's battle system itself is really good, but it's very easy to break even on Nightmare which makes the second half of the game a complete joke. Falcom seriously needs to nerf half of the skills in the third game and to bring Enigma back.

I remember hearing something about a bonus if you have a savegame with a certain achivment unlocked, what is that achiv. I need? I got like 33%

Xseed went wrong

It's not achievement related, that's just an indicator you can use.

You get the bonus if you collected all possible BP.

>they're going to patch the older ones with that too

I'll believe it when I see it.

They made a big blog post about it. They're retconning the script of FC and SC to make them more consistent with what we now know from TC and Sen 1+2.

Most significant being that they are changing Zane's name to Zin.
Other things like that though with characters/monsters and organizations.

>- Skippable S-Crafts – We added this patch into the PC versions of FC/SC in December 2016, but I felt it was worth noting since it’s not in any other version of the Sky trilogy but ours. You can now skip S-Crafts with the press of a button! Yay!
my bad user, i guess they already did

>Do y'all like it
>when Brittany gets drunk
Not really. Too much hysterical laughing and "girl's night out" atmosphere.
>streams her unfinished games
Absolutely, though I didn't like that she plays on Easy. I loved getting a glimpse of 3rd anyway.

>Waifufaggotry
>Implying Olivier isn't the best character

Wow it's fucking nothing.

More like Tits in the Sky

Thanks!

Holy fuck is it really you pastebin music user?

it's been awhile.

Nothing, and you trying to force this "Sup Forums's not allowed to like it anymore" contrarian bullshit is sad.

Falcom is /pcmasterrace/ now. Fucking deal with it, sonyfag.

Falcom has always been a primarily PC-centric studio though

Cliche = badly-done trope. I don't feel the familiar premises used in Trails FC/SC fail for the most part. Some of the best moments in these stories don't stand out because that would diminish their effect.

This stings, but it also means I'll have less of a distraction during finals.

Character models and expressions are better in the pre-Cold Steel installments.

Maybe 15% beat Trails FC according to achievements? We've discussed this before, but Tom @ XSEED's hinted SC has driven FC sales a lot, and SC's higher price point helps XSEED.

Just set up Cheat Engine to abuse speedhack when you wanna make battles and travel faster. There's only so much Sara can do with the original code while working on other projects.

Sorcerian Rare Selection never >:[

Not since 2009. 2012 through 2015 really showed their demographic shift, with Ys VIII getting back to mid-2000s Ys in some areas. Even their calendar art's been really predictable since then.

I know, but the bizarre belief that their ps3/vita games were totally never coming to PC and everyone should be jelly always reared its ugly face in falcom game threads. And the immediate spergout from the recent announcement has been ridiculous.

This.
I was watching the 3rd preview and holy smokes Ries is cute as a button.

If i couldnt stand berseria because of nonsensical weeb shit will I like this game?

Yes, this game have minimal amount of weaaboo surprisingly.

Though that got killed with cold steel

>all them perfect eac albums

is this fro ffsrhine or is it yours? thank you anyway

>minimal amount of weaaboo

Damn I must have imagined the whole school play chapter and the "Woops I bumped into my brother while naked in the hot spring! How hazukashi!"

Oh and the mech shit started in FC too so I fail to see your beef with Legend of Coldsteel.

Missable grade shit based on wankery like speaking to characters in a specific order

The only one that's bullshit is that photography sidequest in SC where you have to advance the plot and take Dorothy along. It runs contrary to every other quest in the game where you should do them as quickly as possible.

Thats not the kind of weeb shit that bothers me.

Its retarded fan-service character designs mostyl. Honestly berseria started out pretty good, i enjoyed the town section but the party started filling up with unbearable annoying characters and I just had to stop.

But I enjoy things like xenogears, xenoblade chronicles, nocturne, persona etc.

Given your taste, TitS is fine, but stay away from Trails of Nothing Personal Kid.

Just know that TitS has a fuckton of reading and a gorillion missable things if you don't check everything after every major (or minor) scene. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just a heads-up.

>comparing the few minimum weaab i mentioned to a game that is weaaboo from beginning to end

Trails to the sky is to cold steel how SMT is to persona. The latter is just unbearable obnoxious shit like dating

Well I will just warn you now there are visible panties in this series.

Who is this? Is she really an Xseed employee streaming games that she's translating?

>mech shit started in FC
Debatable. Nothing piloted Reverie, it attacked Richard and Estelle's group on its own based on orders given almost a millennium prior. But SC definitely goes the extra mile here.

Main character designs in FC, SC, and The 3rd aren't like this, so don't worry. Little kids in the Sky games aren't annoying either.

...

Its not like im against panties, or nudity or sex for that matter. Its just the tasteless in your face weeb shit that I see in many of these games where the character's sole purpose is for players to jack off. Coupled with larger than life unbelievable, loud personalities.

She's the project manager of Trails.
She doesn't translate, she just oversees the operation and is constantly checking and rechecking the lore to ensure consistency as best she can.
Her best boy is Crow but she also likes Olivier and Kevin.
She ships Annelace x Estelle.
She hates when people ask "When are you translating Zero?".
She used to visit Sup Forums until a stalker scared her off by visiting the XSEED offices unannounced.

>but the party started filling up with unbearable annoying characters and I just had to stop.
If you stick in long enough to see Magilou get mind-tortured for several hours straight she becomes a bit more understandable.

KnockKnockMotherfuckersEnVersion.webm when?

Re-re-make with a non shit translation fucking when?

She was very annoying but I pressed on in spite of her, and the rest of the characters. The only one I was remotely interested in was Velvet.

I got to the point after you kill the church guy, it seems like the plot would get more interesting, specialy with that other exorcist girl which seemed like an interesting character.

But then I realized I wasnt really having any fun with the gameplay itself, and the annoying cast did not help. Im sure theres a better game a few hours in there but it's not for me.

...

>Cliche = badly-done trope

Nope. There's nothing inherently bad about cliches, and this series is built on them.

I ve got this on steam during a sale, mostly because was shilled as the best jrpg, so far so good, world building of this complexity never seen before, I like how impossible to defeat chest monster become easy as you "retry" with a different strategy.
Only cons is how slow battles are but never tried any settings and the Nintendo tier happiness and peacefulness of the war.
Today started to look for a vita 3.60 for 100.
Godspeed.

The thing I love, it's small really, but if they need a character for a job in the story - like an engineer for example - rather than invent a new engineer or have a nameless character show up, they call in an engineer who you met in town earlier.
Happens a lot with soldiers and other jobs too. If the people exist in the world and can be used by the story then they will.

It's so minor but I love it.
Especially when you have familiar ZCF workers showing up on the Courageous in Sen no Kiseki.

I'm hoping for a fan patch of the Win9x versions. We don't know if the PSP source code's still around, otherwise Sara could pull all the assets but would need to make a whole new game.

Would you be okay switching to a conditional turn-based combat system like the one in Trails? Or did something else in Berseria's game design suck?

Just making a distinction between tropes and cliches. I agree with you, the writing in Trails FC/SC/3rd makes almost everything work.

It ended

Took me a good time to figure out the combat system and how to mix the runes for the spells.
By the time I finished the first arc (the airship thieves) and just got into the next capital city, became totally bored with the typical JRPG repetition.

>Just making a distinction between tropes and cliches

There isn't one.

>hold back

A CROSSBOW HAS ONLY TWO SETTINGS
HOW DO YOU HOLD BACK

This. It wasn't without its flaws, but it was great over all.

Too much Olivier, final boss of FC kinda sucks, but other than that nothing really.

That's not an image of Cold Steel.

Ha! Sucks to be you, kid.

t. salarycuck

>Wants to break up best boy and best girl for yuri

Women. Not even once.

I miss xseeddude, and /jrpg/

>Would you be okay switching to a conditional turn-based combat system like the one in Trails? Or did something else in Berseria's game design suck?

Honestly I dont know what the combat is for trails. I can push trough almost any combat system in an rpg if the story is good.

Berseria's combat wasnt bad but it just was kind of "there". And after 10 hours I wasnt hooked on the story so I had to let go.
My major game play gripe with it was the movement speed, it was soooo slow, even with one of the upgrades.
The areas are huge and are filled with monster encounters that I tried to avoid because they are meh so I just wanted to get to the marker to further the story. But after a while it felt like holding analog stick up simulator.
Bottom line I felt like I was wasting too much time not advancing the story or engaged in fun combat. I could have given it a pass if the environments were worth exploring but they felt very uninspired.

I keep getting wrecked in the first one and i dont have any healing spells

FC has small areas but you'll do some backtracking depending on the chapter, and battle speed's slow because of animations. If things in FC are going too slow, you can hook up Cheat Engine (with KB/M hotkeys) to speed battles/travel up or down. Later Trails games have actual skipping/fast-forward options.

Prologue?

The secret is combining orbments well
