Is this game really that bad? It's £2.99 on the EU PSN store right now, 95% off. Surely its worth picking up at that price? R-right?
Is this game really that bad? It's £2.99 on the EU PSN store right now, 95% off...
At that cheap, yeah. I'd buy it.
I ain't trusting bioware ever again
It's the PS4 Deluxe edition too, forgot to mention. Never played any dragon age games before though
I played this three days straight just a week ago.
It's bad. So bad, that it makes me respect what DA2 did on such a tight budget.
forget the price, it's not worth your "time", there's like a million better games out there
only game in this series arguably worth your time is the first one
Great enviroments
good art style overall, full of colours
BAD GAMEPLAY
bad side characters
bad plot
bad animations
everything you should do(beign an inquisitor and all)just turns out to be "use this stat to unlock new areas"
It CAN be slightly fun, just follow these steps:
ignore side missions
JUST IGNORE THEM
do only the minimum necessary to unlock the new areas
craft your gear
reaver is broken
just do the main quest, and the companions side quests
thats it.
Only fun i had in the game was blasting dragons, and they are just giant bullet sponges as you simply rush ove rthem and stab them with your weapons, so no, the games not that much fun.
Get Dragon Age: Origins, play it on pc.
(((Legally Downloaded))) this, played it for about 10 hours (almost finished the first area), it literally felt like a single player MMORPG and havent found the strength to keep playing it. There's just so much more engaging stuff you could do with your time like watching the grass grow an shit
I stick with DA1 and 2 for my Thesis fix. I unrionically like DA2.
You know how people call it an offline MMO? It really is one.
If that sounds like your thing, go ahead. If you don't feel like fetching 10 boar dicks a dozen times before they finally let you move on with the short as fuck plot, it's not even worth the three quid.
Do you like games with boring open worlds that have nothing interesting in them to discover? if the answer it yes then get it
>I unrionically like DA2
It really isn't all that bad of a game.
you could just pirate it for free.
Just pirate it and buy yourself a value menu burger or some skittles instead.
>PSN
Oh. Well in that case, yeah, it's worth 3 bucks if you really have absolutely nothing else better to play at the moment.
Very much this
it's the worst kind of open world game.
basically just a ton of meaningless icons that are "content".
basically "checklist" the game.
AND on top of that, the gameplay still sucks and the conversations aren't as good as they were in Dragon Age Origins and overall it's just very boring.
i would avoid it.
not worth the 70GB download or your time
I just redownloaded it a few days ago. I played it for a total of 16 hours. It's not bad, but it's not good. I shouldn't have spent 60 dollars the day it came out. That was obviously a mistake.
I think it's worth ~$10 if you care about the world. It's mostly a super mediocre game with a few good things here and there.
Ignore the filler shit quests though and don't bother playing on the harder diffculty.
3 pounds for a single player MMO, sure why not, but DA:I, I dunno user
I got it for free and deleted it after 2 hours of insufferable pain. Just play DAO on PC with mods like a normal person.
Being a bitchy FemHawke is the best way to play.
Put 100 hours into it just to beat it without even touching the dlc, really enjoyed it.
Keep in mind for future purchases that Sup Forums is retarded. This is coming from a pc user who has the game on ps4, so inb4 console war.
In hindsight it really wasn't bad. Like I hated it when it first came out because it was such a downgrade from DAO, but now years later and seeing how shit DAI and ME:A are it's great in comparison.
Would not buy it. It's not even worth the install time just to try it.
Being a bitchy anything is the best way to play any Bioware game.
Say what you will about them, but they really are the best at letting you be unnecessarily rude.
Except it really is that mediocre.
Think of it as a game with all the garbage from an MMO and none of the good stuff from a proper single player RPG.
All it really needed to escape the outrage was more assets. Something that would make the maps and enemies at least provide the illusion of being different.
>inb4 console war
You're right, Sup Forums is retarded. Especially when people like you announce certain things that no one else in the thread mentioned.
For $2.99 you can at least play the multiplayer, which is the only decent thing about Inquisition.
The game sucks, but you might as well try it out for that price.
>first hour of ME1
>find a couple scientists hiding from the fight on Eden Prime
>one of them has a bit of PTSD because of it and says some crazy shit
>fucking shoot and kill him
Renegade Shep will never be topped. Biggest asshole in gaming.
That character was so annoying and out of place. Broke the medieval fantasy immersion pretty significantly by having this annoying tumblr chav on my team going "oi m8, fuck the patriachy lol epix win teh spork of doom ^_^"
Oh wait, it's just the special event music. I forgot where I saved because I was drunk :^)
I miss when you could be an absolute asshole in bioware games. DAO you could be one edgy ass monster of a person killing kids and sacrificing elves for power. Nu-Bioware are complete pussies now, DAI you can at most be slightly rude and from what I've seen of MEA it's the same.
I got it for "free" and even then couldn't bring myself to playing for more than 2 hours. Fucking korean mmos more fun than this piece of shit.
Fuckin baited
Only if you played Origins or DA 2
Woops, wrong thread. It would seem I'm drunk again.
In ME3 you can shoot Mordin in the fucking back while he's sacrificing himself to cure the Genophage. ME3 was pretty bad, but it really was Bioware's last game before they became nu-Bioware. There was still a glimmer of them in that game.
Oh shit
The game is pretty decent, but I have a few bugbears.
1.The characters look oily
2. My choices don't matter much. For instance, I drank from the Elven well since my character is Dalish, and it barely changed anything in the plot. You can't change anything about a certain party member betraying you.
3. They chose a shit-tier DA2 DLC villain, instead of the eminently more interesting Architect.
4. This is just me, but I hate Leliana, and her large role in the plot is exasperating, I wish the bioware writers weren't so biased towards her, same with LIara in mass effect.
5. Large worlds that you can explore in, but barely any sidequests to do, it's mostly just resource collection to make marginally better arms and armor back at your base.
Sequences like the Val Royeaux Ball are pretty good, though.
Something that is definitely not a problem though, is characters like Sera or Vivienne, whom you can just ignore/dismiss whenever you want.
I quit as soon as a random nameless npc asked me to go kill 10 boars to feed the camp like I was grinding levels in a fucking MMO, which was almost immediately. Absolute trash.
Try to avoid the hinterlands, do only the main quest there. Also every stupid motherfucker that spent more than 2 hours are the ones calling it a mmo, do not listen to them. The game isnt that bad once you leave the hinterlands
I had 90 hours of fun for 20 bucks
with the expansions you can probably get even more mileage out of it
>The game isnt that bad once you leave the hinterlands
But that's wrong you retarded cum guzzling piece of shit.
I also wonder where they'll go with Dragon Age. There isn't really one big overarching threat that's there over the trilogy.
An isometric Dragon Age by Obsidian could be neat, but that's absolutely not happening.
Being able to basically say fuck outta here to Sera was one of the only good things in that game.
Your character is believed to be L I T E R A L L Y new Jesus incarnate and this retarded discount robin hood elf thinks she can ignore your do's and don'ts. Who on the writers team thought that was a sound idea I don't know.
> There isn't really one big overarching threat that's there over the trilogy.
Elves, and how they should be exterminated
Are you telling me this isn't MMO garbage design, or that that was just the only npc in the game who wants me to go do an MMO quest and I just got the wrong impression?
You're right. I forgot about filthy goddamn knife ears.
Shit, I want to play a game where I get to be a slavic techno sorcerer.
No, you still get to do shitty fetch quest throughout most of the game.
I hate how inconsistent the art style they go for is across all the games.
>DAO is some kind of realistic style
>armor and weapons aren't too crazy barring a few
>elves are just shorter humans with pointy ears
>da2 happens
>armor and weapons go full JRPG mode
>elves turn into James Cameron's blue space cats
>DAI changes again
>armor and weapons some kind of retarded blend of previous two styles
>elves are now skeletons
it doesnt matter how much a shit game cost its still gonna be a shitty experience
Turning elves into rats was a good call in my opinion. It made it make more sense that they're not the majestic elves we're used to. They're short and ugly.
I'm not sure what they did with the design in DAI though. They went full JRPG on the designs in 2 because they realized players liked the fuck hueg World of Warcraft armor in Origins and took it too far.
My wife's favorite game. I had some fun on my two and a half playthroughs of it as well. I'd say it's totally worth the price.
Do you play with your wife's son as well?
Isn't E.Y.E pretty much that?
Brother gave it to me. Did everything went everywhere. After around 1-2 months,on and off I managed to beat it. Suffice to say it was a soul sucking experience.
After which i went back to finish my DAO dwarf run. Ughh, deep roads.
Even when I want to like it, I just can't stomach it. It's that bad.
I could at least play through Andromeda a few times before I couldn't take it any more but this game is just suffering to play.
tbqh I found the dialog and story to be surprisingly good but it's bogged down by all the sidequest/MMO bullshit that makes it feel secondary to the grindy nature of the gameplay.
It's clear Bioware went all out after the reception of DA2 but this was excessive.
I usually play on and off during Game of Thrones seasons. It's the only time I can tolerate it. But after what Bioware tried to pull with Andromeda, I might just melt it down with the rest and be done with it.
The faces are pretty detailed.
And that's about what the game has going for it.
Cyberpunk 2077 son
Armor in Origins is retarded. It's derivative of early WoW stuff.
Underrail.
