Prevents combat from becoming repetitive that's for sure.

Both works for the gameplay. Weapon degradation is a non issue anyway after you've collected a few seeds.

Yeah, it literally is. Taking away weapon degradation means the player is going to be using mostly one weapon, leading to shallow combat

I am actually a different person. But yeah I can see why it would be hard to find a good reason.

This game actually is what the concept of Zelda was supposed to be from the beginning, if you look at the development documents of the earlier games. Technology simply has held the series back this far. Now we get Zelda as its supposed to be.

The suit you get for doing all shrines is even the suit he was wearing in the early concept art for the first game

I don't see what's bad about either of these things.

Makes me have to improvise a shit ton in the early game, which is good. I have to rely on things like grabbing weapons out of goblins' hands, shoving them off of ledges, using bombs, and such.

No, it has some serious flaws. It's a pretty good game but a problematic Zelda. The equipment degradation (even Master Sword breaks), the extremely empty and sparse maps, lack of enemy variety and lack of dungeons really spoiled the experience for me.

We could have early, weaker equipment breaking, that would be okay. But the Master Sword? What's the point on doing 40 shrines to get a generic +30atk sword that breaks and has a 10 minute cooldown? It's not even very powerful to begin with, you don't even have enough incentive to use it once you have plenty of +40-60atk equipment at your disposal.

Not to mention the boss fights are pretty lackluster and very very short. Even OoT had longer, better battles.

I agree that the bossfights are stupid. Way way too easy. Also Silver Lynel is harder than even Ganon, at least for me that sucks at timing dodging.

If the player is gonna be using one weapons that just means the weapons in said game are boring and don't have enough differences to warrent switching.

if youve played dragons dogma, definitely nothing, dragons dogma combat/inventory/ world building/ main story and many other aspects of the game are way better than botw

I actually doubt it, the boss rush is pretty harsh at 3 stars with shit weapons if you aren't pretty decent at the game already.

Literally no one in the history of Sup Forums defended weapon degradation before this shit nuZelda did it. Nintendogaf is real.
