What is the best controller to use on PC and why did the steam controller fail?
>hey what if we made a controler with two laptop touchpads out of the cheapest plastic that exists?
In what way did it fail?
About my only problem with it is the analog stick.
>glossy plastic on a handheld device
Instant trash, no exceptions whatsoever.
Wii u pro controller
Do you even have to ask why it failed? You did post a picture of it.
The Xbone controller. Comfortable, plug-and-play on Windows PCs, and works better for action games where an analog joystick matters.
It's literally the best way to play any third person game, and it's better at FPS than regular controllers. Fucking great for Civ too
Like I said.
No exceptions.
Until your thumb gets any moisture on it whatsoever
Source: owning a st(m)eam controller
Just wash your hands every hour or two and put down the greasy food
It's as easy as that
I can't into gyro no matter how hard I try
poor show chap
>Just wash your hands every hour or two
You don't even need to do that. Just take a break occasionally to pet the cat or something.
Yes, this too
depends
xb360 or fightstick with seimitsu stick+sanwa buttons
I know. I've tried quite a few styles and it just never clicks with me.
Which is weird because I'm fine with gyro aim when it comes to BoTW.
I shilled pretty hard last thread, so I'll keep it short, but the steam controller is fucking great for me. If you're on the fence, try it. The only major problem is the grips slide around a bit, which doesn't cause any mechanical issues, but will bother you.
Can you use it on non-steam games?
You have to either add them to Steam or use some sort of open source drivers that let you use them with all games.
Thanks, I'll search for those drivers and check the price of the controller. I admit I'm curious to give it a try.
I use it for emulators, it works beautifully. You need to add them through steam, but that's simple.
this nigga understands
If only there was an official Wii U Pro controller with a matte finish and SNES coloured buttons, I could disregard every other controller in existence
I don't use steam. That's why I'm interested in those drivers.
Because ps4 / xbone owners don't need to buy another one and they could just use what they have already. And there's a pretty large overlap of cross platform owners. [citation needed]
Another thing to note is that there is a large number of third party shit from logitech to chink knockoffs.
Xbox 360 or One controller, compatible with every game that allows a controller to be used, and chances are you have one sitting around or can buy a 360 controller on the cheap. They're pretty durable and comfy as well.
>ps4 controller
If only I could just use my DS4 without some third party software that breaks every Windows update
I used to use a 360 controller, and i got a good deal on a bone controller, and i gotta say, It's pretty nice.
It's a pain in the ass to take apart though.
You can use it natively with steam.
I use the chink botnet called inputmapper. Still works. Just block that shit with a firewall.
You dont need to download those, set your preferred ssteam controller setup to the desktop config in big picture and it will work for most games as long as steam is running. No need for steam overlay. The only problem is you will need to use a mouse to open the game compared to just using the controller itself.
I use a PS4 controller for my PC needs and I don't have any problems. You do use SCP for its drivers, right?
Xbone controller. The 360 controller was almost perfect but had the shittiest d-pad known to man for some god forsaken reason. The Xbone controller fixed that one flaw and managed to improve on the 360's otherwise perfect design choices
I had a steam controller for three months. The steam controller is not better than a xbox style controller. The track pad is not better than a analogue joystick. You can't use the steams controller for fps games because you'd get your arse kicked. I suggest sticking with a standard xbox style controller.
