Path of neo was pretty good. The matrix online was also pretty good.

Path of Neo. Matrix Online was an an acquired taste. Enter the Matrix could have used another six months in development.

You know honestly I am surprised that the Wachowski sisters didn't jump on the Open World bandwagon. I mean playing as a redpill rebel in the Matrix megacity. Sounds like fun.

...

I still like Enter the Matrix. All the acrobatic/focus shit is fun to mess around with even if the controls are bizarre. And the firearms are for the most part very satisfying to use

While this thread isn't about the Wachowskis I'm gonna go and say that Path of Neo was a fun time.

Action Half-Life
The Specialists

...

the matrix movies work amazingly as a trilogy and the sequels are pretty cool despite not being as good as the first

Most of this game was amazing, but those driving segments

>npc is driving
>this still manage to get the car stuck in a spot they can't get out of

What the fuck, why wasn't it just on rails?

I feel like the jump from the first to the second is too large

>first moment
>matrix is very realistic
>agents are super powerful, run away from them

>second movie
>oh shit, ghosts and vampires and stuff
>everyone can at least fend off an agent

I know that they had to do it or else it would just be "everyone waits on neo to single-handedly beat everything", but it was still annoying

>not playing path of neo on PS2

Are you a faggot?

>the matrix movies work amazingly as a trilogy
No, they don't. The two movies are literally unnecessary and only serves to complicate a story that wasn't even that original or even that good in the first place.

shame we cant get these older games revived. Fucking atari and their shitty licensing, when their out of business hopefully people who want profit will buy their properties negotiate these games to license and update them.

Path of neo would be the goal.

The specialists, Jedi Knight 2 JA.

There were a ton. The franchise is almost 2 decades old dude, the games came out a long time ago.

Also, The Specialists.

Just like some other people I'm going to vouch for The Specialists here

That game is truly something else

>1999 was 17 years ago
>still havnt been a action movie like the matrix since

>17 years ago was 18 years ago

Max Payne
Max Payne Kung Fu mod
Max Payne 2
Enter the Matrix
Matrix: Path of Neo
Deus Ex

HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

the matrix ip is difficult to work with without resorting to obvious film inspired game play. there actually isn't much detail about day to day activities for people living in or out of the matrix.

>the Wachowski Brothers are now the Wachowski Sisters
Has the tranny meme gone too far?

Any matrix game with the slow motion elevator scene was fun as fuck.

We all know thats exactly what we wanted.

RE5

>a story that wasn't even that original or even that good in the first place.

Get a load of this guy

>we will never get a proper Matrix video game that explores both the plugged in world and the real world.

>you will never explore the inside of the Osiris

>you will never experience a terrifying opening segment where you are unplugged from the matrix

>you will ever get to actually choose which pill to take in 1st person

>you will never use the crazy mecha from the third movie

This franchise is so much wasted vidya potential.

I would love a full fledged matrix game choosing/leveling different strengths and abilities. Being a pilot or soldier fighting in the real world, or being constantly plugged into the matrix. Fucking up some agent butt pussy all day.

HNNNNNNG WHY DONT I HAVE THIS.

If the hollywood rumors of a Matrix series reboot are true then we're going to have to endure a shitty EA-quality game tied in to it, I bet

Hacking minigame in Enter the Matrix was best hacking minigame

Matrix Online was coziest MMO, I want to superjump from building to building again and hang out in a fetish club in between missions ducking agents and doing kung fu against bitch ass Cypherites

At this point I'd even take a game set during the Animatrix stuff with the big machine war, even if it was just yet another generic 'human soldier guy fights duh evil robot invasion'

>guys neo is the savior like jesus
>guys the humans live in zion!!! like are we geniuses or what?
>guys hear me out what if we actually live inside a computer?? like the world we knew to be wasn't the world that actually was?? no one's heard of THAT before!
>guys let's tell a self-contained story in the first movie and then make two shitty sequels that are just pointless kung fu fighting and people screaming at CGI machines that want to kill humanity
>also lets have that guy from bill and ted as our lead, i'm sure that won't be distracting at all

When VR tech gets better, a game that simulates gameplay you'd imagine from The Matrix will be pretty great. But we're getting there, slowly.

>youtu.be/g48yzSY2lgg?t=167

>people actually think Enter the Matrix is actually good now

Nostalgia truly is one hell of a drug. The only good thing about that piece of shite was the dos minigame.

Path of Neo is superior in every way and that game was still mediocre at best.

players that pick merovingian faction are furries and emos, pass it on

>ill never get to try out that matrix online game at the peak of its popularity

Thematically?
SOMA

Aesthetically?
EYE/Deus Ex

Choreographically?
SUPER HOT

Stop.

>the matrix online emulator will never be finished so I can't even enjoy playing it as a mediocre empty singleplayer game

>Choreographically?
DBZ Tenkaichi

I was a diehard Matrix fan, still think its awesome and followed it way beyond the movie. Even I thought Enter the Matrix was rubbish at the time of release. Game was clunky as shit.

Matrix deserves a better level of game than any it got.

Biggest thing I hated In Enter the Matrix was how fucking short the levels were.

Not the initial guy you just replied to, but can you post a story that you find more original or interesting? I'm genuinely curious.

Enter the Matrix was fucking cool, especially hacking to find the cheat codes. Shame about the driving though.

They should make one in the Prototype games engine.

I beg your pardon

>no good Matrix games?
Someone didn't own a PSP

Even if y'all are hating on Enter the Matrix you can't deny that
>the inclusion of live-action cutscenes with the actual actors that appeared in the movies was pretty cool instead of just having nobodies
>the music was fucking great

lol i remember renting this for a sleepover after seeing the third movie, man was i embarrased by how shit it was

luckily i also had earth defense force and whatnot

Legit amazing game

The cheat code that unlocked the multiplayer fighting game mode was a disappointment. Very barebones

>The Specialists
Ah, a man of good taste on Sup Forums at last.

I played the fuck out of that. A shame it's probably dead though

Why was it so fun?

>>we will never get a proper Matrix video game that explores both the plugged in world and the real world.

just play Assassins Creed

But you got to play as a car

A CAR M8

I believe he implied that game has to be good.

thats why i recommended a good one

>wanting a matrix game
>not a Second Renaissance game

OP pls.

This.

I'm case you don't remember trinity bested an agent in the first movie. First person to do so also.

she also bested my DICK

Homeworld rip-off?

I like Reloaded, but Revolution was clinically retarded. I don't understand why the only visible points of view in this debate are "both sequels suck" and "both sequels are good".

>Wachowski sisters

FEAR is pretty good

Both sequels make good sense when you know that real world is also a matrix.

Enter the Matrix was okay, maybe not good-good but definitely okay.
Path of Neo was great.

Missed out on Matrix Online so I can't comment but supposedly it was unlike any other MMO on the market, wasn't theme-park style MMO and generally a lot of people seem to miss it.

I'm with this guy

Reloaded is alright, don't have time for Revolution. They're two different films that should be judged separately.

youtube.com/watch?v=Qa9NATrhmac

The way I see it is even in the sequels every moment they actually spend in the Matrix is good. Reloaded just has less of it than the first one and Revolution has the least making Reloaded the worst one.

But as a far as the entire movie goes, Reloaded isn't all that bad. It's better than Revolutions which actively puts me to sleep with the horrendously long and boring Battle of Zion.

>ywn play a game where you play as Trinity or Morpheus and all the missions they did hunting for The One before the start of the first movie

The Matrix wasn't very good to begin with.

Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad
