Your top 5 JRPG Sup Forums

Now that P5 is out, I need to make a new list

-P5
-Chrono Cross
-Baten Kaitos Origins
-Dragon Quest V
-Shadow Hearts

Why should I care what region the game is from?

In no particular order:

-P5
-Devil Survivor 2
-Nocturne
-NieR
-NieR: Automata

Shoutouts to Radiant Historia, Tactics Ogre, and TWEWY (if it even counts as one)

Man I fucking wish another New Vegas like Fallout game would release to make all you autistic weebs and horfible japshit eat a bowl of throbbing dicks.

P5
Suikoden 2
Chrono Trigger
Trails FC+SC
Xenogears

>Nier and Nia Automato
>JRPGs

user, uh...

Dude, if you're not willing to stand behind our troops in the console wars, feel free to stand in front of them

Im not a console fag

I think that's the point tho isn't it? THe NV like games are few and far between. And even then, NV was murked up by a bumpy release.

One can hope that something is on the horizon though.

Romancing SaGa
Hybrid Heaven
Ogre Battle 64
SaGa Frontier
Vagrant Story

Not an argument

Etrian Odyssey IV
Trails in the Sky + SC
Dragon Quest V
Kamidori Alchemy Meister
Ys 1+2

Well we do have Butterlord on the horizon right now. Whenever it's brought up it sends the weebs into an autistic rage. Good god just thinking about the source coded mods makes my dick diamonds.

chrono trigger
skies of arcadia
earthbound
pokemon crystal
golden sun

I liked Generations of Chaos, if that counts as a JRPG

>Whenever it's brought up it sends the weebs into an autistic rage
Well vaporware does tend to get on people's nerves.

FFVII
SMT: Nocturne
DQV
P5
SO3

>t. Autistic weeb
Get ready for all this gookshit to be torn down by glorious roaches.

Xenoblade X
Xenogears
FF9
Paper Mario 64
Uhhhh TWEWY?

Not sure for last one but others not in order

>FF
Shit and this thread was going so well till you came and fucked it up.

>Sup Forums posters

>le Sup Forums boogeyman
I want go far away and stay gone.

I'm a goofy goober, motherfucker.

>SaGa

Good taste, sir. Xenogears is one of the most ambitious storyline in any JRPG ever.

>posts a Sup Forums meme
>Pretends not to be from Sup Forums

See me after class

1. dark souls 1
2. demon souls
3. dark souls 3
4. ys oath in felghana
5. ys origins

Not if I go to detention first, faggot.

And when's that gonna be? 2018? 2019? And that's already being generous and acting like anyone gives a fuck about Mountain Blade.

They call them JRPGs in order to excuse them from the shitty combat.

Nice

Yeah it was, until you posted.

Automata has better combat than most turnbased shit.

Mother 3
Earthbound
Breath of Fire IV
Dragon Quest VII
Metal Max Returns

Also r8, give this thread some purpose.

Only played DQV of that list, though that alone tells me you have decent taste.
Nocturne is pretty good.
Good on CT. I still need to get around to suikoden 2. Is 1 need to play it?
I think OP meant more tradional stuff like DQ and FF, still interesting taste. Always wanted to play jybrid heaven.

Ys and DQ save you from shit tatse.
Good other the golden sun, its shit.
Good
Good too.

Traditional is okay, but I like JRPG's that deviate from the beaten path from battle mechanics, character growth and development, and possibly other things you can do outside of battle. Hence why SaGa gets up there for me.

Hybrid Heaven is good, though it is dated (like a lot of Konami 3D games) but if you can grapple with that you can find an enjoyable game due to taking natural character growth mechanics and learning skills through enemies performing them on you and actually being able to do things in between battles from light platforming to some shooting (don't expect Jet Force Gemini from the TPS, it is over the shoulder and you stay grounded where you are at while you aim). I just like that it mixes everything up.

Yea, but it's still far from good and still is constantly interrupted by a minigame.

-FF6
-Trails FC+SC
-P3
-Dark Souls
-Ys Origin

>SO3

Mah nuggah. Underated masterpiece. Roger is best girl.

By the time I got to 9S I was glad for the diversion.

FFVIII
SO3
Pokemon Soul Silver
Dark Souls
Dragon Quest VII

In no particular order
-P5
-Trails in The Sky
-Trails of Cold Steel
-Bravely Default
-Chrono Trigger
Dammit, I have lot more to say but I can't fit it in. Honorable mention to Summon Night 3, Golden Sun, and Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne.

I'm undecided on some of the same series

Seiken dentetsu 3
Final fantasy IX or VI
Soma bringer
Dragon Dogma
Etrian odyssey III or IV

>Soma bringer
Mein Negro!

I don't like the JRPG genre.
so here are the top 5 based on wich games i could stand the longest
>Final Fantasy 10
>Final Fantasy 13
>Final Fantasy 7
>Digimon Story Cybersleuth
>Xenoblade Chronicles X

i ended up buying Persona 5 anyway

The minigame is optional in combat and initiated by the player, dipshit.

others: Persona 4, golden sun, Bravely default and second, Terranigma, Breath of fire II, chrono trigger, pokemon black/white2, dark souls 3

I meant ff7 not 8

more people need to play it

>Final Fantasy 13
>I don't like the JRPG genre.
>i ended up buying Persona 5 anyway
Incredible.

>autistic weebs
But those are the FNV fans.

well i also own a bunch of the really good ones like Nocturne, Dragon Quest 8 and Shadow Hearts, i just couldn't get into them no matter how much Sup Forums praises them.
no idea how i made it really far into FF13, but i remember dying on some robot boss and never touching the game again.

>eagle mostly brown

>white arms

And its also the quickest way of dealing with half the enemies.

>Eagle mostly brown
>White head

...

No, you really like FFVIII that much subconsciously.

5. Suikoden 2
4. Chrono Trigger
3. Bravely Default
2. Xenogears
1. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

Never been a big final fantasy fan, save for maybe 3 and 5.

It's a really good soundtrack. VIII's soundtrack is amazing, but VII's a much better game. They're both better than IX though. But IX has the sexiest rats.

>they're both better than IX though
I vehemently disagree, but its matter of taste at this point

Fire Emblem 3
Shining Force
Valkyria Chronicles
Disgaea
Sakura Wars

I just love SRPGs, I guess.

>loves srpg
>no tactics ogre

No particular order:

Valkyrie Profile
.hack//G.U.
Live a Live
Chrono Trigger
Legend of Mana

it hasn't hold well the test of time

Matsuno's games are great. I'd put Ogre Battle or Ogre Battle 64 over Tactics Ogre, though.

>Chrono Cross
It had an amazing soundtrack but it was a terrible RPG. Piss poor design meant you could easily fuck yourself out of progressing the storyline, and the light/dark character sides were silly and made some of the 54960 recruitables completely useless.

It was bad.

Please tell me, how do I start to like sjrpgs ?
I've tried FFT and Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together and god I couldn't help but feel the game was only battles / story / tedious party management without any exploration. It bore me to death. I went very open about it.

I know I'm not a big fan of tacticals but should I try shining force III ? I heard it's amazing and at least there's some exploration and not only through a bizarre map.

Most SRPG have a different mode of story progression than standard JRPG. If that bothers you then that sub-genre isn't for you.

JRPG as in the JRPG meme or a JRPG as in a japanese game that qualifies as an RPG?

Because if its the latter then i doubt you can even name 5.

Mother 3
Baten Kaitos Origins
P5
Golden Sun the lost Age
Bravely Defaut/Second
Xenoblade Chronicles

I love how the only pokemon games worthy for lists like these are Crystal, HGSS and BW2

Final Fantasy X
Crystalis
Phantasy Star 2
Demons Souls
Dragon's Dogma

Yeah, try the Shining Force series or Fire Emblem 2 (the upcoming game FE: Echoes is remake of 2). Those have towns in between battles that you can walk around in and interact with NPCs, buy equipment, etc
