Why's everyone in your party a fucking douchebag? >unsociable >if they ever speak to each other it's to trade insults or verbal abuse >others don't even acknowledge the rest of the party's existence >most of the scenes they'll only speak to you and not one another >some are ridiculously clingy as fuck it becomes annoying after an hour
It ticks me off they stay like this for the entire game. Their stance towards each other doesn't change and they only ever come to like you and worship the ground you tread on.
It's not like P5 is devoid of likable characters. Plenty of likable non-party characters but nah let's not have them be part of your ragtag group. Just have the unfriendliest assholes join you instead.
Makoto seems to be the only one who tries to reach out to other members in your party.
James Cox
Makoto is the one who destroys the group dynamic in the first place.
Ian Barnes
Stop posting Hifumi
Michael Long
Yea I agree, the game doesn't seem to care to try and make these characters likeable as a group. Individually I like some of them like yusuke, futaba, and haru, but together the dynamic is just so awkward
It's really weird especially when someone says something, which could be plot relevant or about their feeling, and it isn't even acknowledged at all by anyone. The only person's comments who gets acknowledged are joker's everyone else is just an exposition stick for the other to hop on top of a majority of the time
I think the futaba and yusuke relationship is pretty good though
Joseph Ortiz
Because they aren't friends with eachother they are only friends with you.
Blake Ortiz
Another thing that pisses me off is that S-Links and relationships only progress when you waste your free time on them.
The group just had a huge fancy dinner together for an hour and by everyone's account had a fantastic time! BUT NOPE LOL WHY WOULD THAT MAKE YOU ANY CLOSER TO THEM?
Jackson Bailey
Ann should be friends with Ryuji more than you though. He was was the one so persistent on beating Kamoshida's ass too
Juan Ross
This. It was much better with Ryuji and Ann. Yusuke was ok, I guess, but there is way too many people once Makoto joins
Anthony Brown
I'll give persona 4 a lot of shit, but at least when the characters hovered around the MC, they weren't just friends with the MC. It's the same with 3, I can see some of the characters hanging out with each other outside of the entire group. I can't say the same for 5's group
Luis Gonzalez
It's not that there's to many people, it's that she barely interacts with anyone with them.
brings up a good example with Futaba and Yusuke. For some reason Futaba thinks Yusuke is weird and she gives him a nickname and teases him over his outfit and his hairstyle. Then there's Ryuji and Morgana obviously. What does the group do regarding Makoto? At most they'll complain to her about studying. Other than that she is All Business All The Time and doesn't get anything of that sort with other group members because she talks almost as much about the phantom thieves as Mishima does.
Parker Russell
Nah. 3 and 4 were also shit when it came to the group being friends. 2 actually got it right.
Grayson Campbell
>too many people when makoto joins Doesn't every persona game have a huge cast of members?
Joshua Hall
Well to give 3 and 4 some slack, the group in 2 IS all knew each other before the beginning of the game and were interconnected by the plot. 2 EP I would say if equal to 3 and 4 in that regard, maybe slightly less, since I can never see Kei/Eriko ever talking to the group again and Baofu would probably only talk to Ulala. Katsuya may stop pursuing Maya in respect to Tatsuya, so that doesn't leave much room. If anything 1's cast is the best example of friends who would stick together
Josiah Rogers
Do you not see that having too many characters hinders group interaction? The group was great when it was just MC, Ryuji, and Ann. The quality went down the more people got added.
Owen Myers
Yes but it didn't mean this game had to. Wouldn't a secretive group of thieves want to have as few members as possible?
Carter Nguyen
Makoto was basically the kill joy
She never contributed to any simple joke on the chats and "muh" study
Even Mitsuru from P3 joked with the group on occasions but Makoto is just plain boring
Aiden Sanchez
No, I don't see it. Oceans Eleven is a 90 minutes movie with 11 thieves and iirc the group interaction isn't bad. The problem is just wonky writing. The writers have a timespan of fucking 8 months and do the bare minimum with it regarding character relationships outside of dickriding Akira.
You would have a point if it would be like 20 people. But it's just 8 + that faggot Goro at some point.
Luke Hughes
Gotta have some sense of realism >everyone is great to eachother Why do you want fake shit? Fake people are all around irl why in video games too?
Dominic Perry
>desperate annfag reaching is getting delusional
Charles Cruz
I'm not a waifufag, sorry user. I think all the females are fine by themselves, but this thread is about the group dynamic.
Jayden Powell
1 and 2...
Jose Murphy
>>if they ever speak to each other it's to trade insults or verbal abuse
user. I feel sorry for you since you've never had real friends before.
Jaxson Gomez
IS group don't remember each other until near the end of the game. I'm referring to the dialogue that switches in every area after any minor plot detail in both games.
They should've shown her personality more if they were going to focus so much on her. Only moments she shows it is when you hang out with her.
Adam Fisher
>His friends spend more time hanging out with the guy in the group who is far better than him
user...
Jack Rivera
How did Atlus do it?
How did they manage to make the WORST video game character to ever exist?
This fucker takes the worst aspects of >Junpei >Yosuke >Teddie >Yuichi >Six >Brown >the entire cast of IVA >Daisuke >edgelord from Ultimax
and manages to make everything this furry shithead say and do piss me off to no end. Him even just casually chiming in raises my blood pressure, because it's never even something helpful. >WOW FUCK YOU RYUJI >LET'S NOT DO THAT TODAY >HEY RYUJI, FUCK YOU >HOLY SHIT YOU'RE STUPID, YOU'RE GOING TO FAIL YOUR TEST >RYUJI? >FUCK YOU >LET'S. JUST. GET. SOME. SLEEP. FUCK YOUR S-LINKS
Not only does he twist your arm into being Phantom Thieves, he goes and jumps ship by betraying you the moment things go South. >HURRHURR IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THE FAME The furry nigger said from the VERY START you had to be flashy and show off.
Then he gets someone who can't summon her Persona in danger several times, blames you, tells Ryuji to fuck off again, then comes crawling back when Haru's fiance rightfully kicks that little shit like the winning field goal.
And the CONSTANT FUCKING REMINDER THAT HE THINK'S HE'S HUMAN. Every god damned hour he has to remind you all about how "human" he's going to turn out to be, as if that would change anyone's opinion on how much of a piece of shit he is in the slightest.
Fuck Morgana, fuck Atlus, and fuck you assholes who try and justify this furry waste of my time.
Carter Martinez
Sounds like Sup Forums tbqh senpai
Bud not exchanging a single word despite meeting up every week is abnormal. You don't have to be BFFs but there should be some inkling of a bond.
P1 had a sizable roster. P2 was the only small one I remember ignoring guest characters
>Durr why don't you take a giant shit on your friends 24/7 Nigga it's fine to josh around but you and your circle have to be real dipshits if that's all you do. Are you the buttmonkey of the group?
Alexander James
This is what autism looks like.
Lucas Edwards
Honestly, I have no fucking clue what you are trying to imply here.
Are you saying you only hang out with people if they are inferior to you? This is why you don't have real friends.
Jordan Diaz
>go into any store or safe room in dungeon in P1/2 >you can talk to all your party members and even unlock unique contact options in P2
The dialogue in P1/2 is great. P4 lets you kind of do this in the fox heal rooms where party members comment on your social link progress with other characters, which is also the only part of the game that recognizes your social link progresses. You can be dating Chie but Kou will still be hot for her, Whatshernamebitch will still be jealous that Kou likes Chie, and if you say you like girls like Chie during the date cafe she laughs like it was a bad joke. Shit's stupid.
Luke Baker
>the most likable member is one you get at the last minute who betrays you.
He was the only one I sympathized with while everyone else dug their own graves with their idiocy and got justifiably fucked up the ass.
Lincoln Price
>Nigga it's fine to josh around but you and your circle have to be real dipshits if that's all you do. Are you the buttmonkey of the group?
user. True friends would rip on each other for lulz and at the same time nobody gets offended at all because they know nobody means it. It doesn't have to be said, it's just how really great friends are. I feel sorry for you if you've never had a great friend like that.
Julian Martin
>blackmails you in to letting her in the group >gets pissy when someone else does the same
Elijah Jackson
The only stupid member in the group was ryuji. Everyone else could be calm and collected when they wanted to.
Asher Davis
>go into any store or safe room in dungeon in P1/2 >you can talk to all your party members Dude they let you do that in all the persona games.
Nicholas Jones
>Persona 5 new version lets you play as Akechi or side with him >yfw you get to kill all your friends like in a standard SMT game
Jonathan Ortiz
>I sympathized with Akechi Jump off a bridge
Brandon Rivera
Are you joking? You go to a store in P3/4/5, it's you by yourself and you just buy things for everyone, they're not even areas you can walk around in. P1/2 have different dialogue for every plot event and even some minor changes trigger new dialogue.
Joshua Flores
>Killing Yusuke Couldn't do it.
Robert Mitchell
someone post lobsterman webm
Isaac Garcia
>side with adachi >just goes our separate ways without any doing anything
GAY
Nicholas Roberts
Heck even if you hated P4, the team had a way better interaction between them. Most of the cast interacted with one or another even if it revolved around MC's dick.
There were even various events where the characters interacted with other NPCs.
The only instance of this in P5 are some short sparse random events.
Jacob Moore
Can't believe as the leader you NEVER initiative group chats
Jacob Roberts
>Lost because he couldn't keep his mouth shut
Leo Reed
>Killing Yusuke Would rather fall on my own sword.
Brody Anderson
Its more so he couldn't realise obvious hacking
Like seriously, she ain't your friend why else would she grab your phone, especially as the suspicious member who blackmailed them.
Jason Evans
I miss that about the older games. Even if the dialogue wasn't about the plot, it gave the characters some personality.
Marie had more interaction with the group members then they did with each other. P4 cast did not feel like a group of friends at all.
Jaxson Hernandez
Some did, I buy Yosuke being friends away from the MC with Chie, Teddie, and Kanji. Chie with Yukiko as well. It isn't as bad as P5.
Eli Jenkins
Honestly the only one who never meshed well within the P4 cast was Naoto.
Kevin Wood
Prince Detectives confirmed trash.
Lincoln Scott
>Akechi is called 'the second coming of the detective prince' >automatically start hating him
SENPAI, ALLOW ME TO MAKE A SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE DETAILS WE HAVE THUS FAR ENCOUNTERED REGARDING THE IDENTITY OF THE PERPETRATOR OF THE HIDEOUS MURDERS THAT HAVE BEEN OCCURRING IN OUR SMALL COUNTRY TOWN OF INABA
Robert Mitchell
Yeah she never had much synergy with the rest of the cast.
Take her out and you just make Kanji gay instead of bi.
Jaxon Thompson
If you played 1 and 2, you'd realize how it's different.
Easton Smith
Sae and Akechi might as well fucked that's all they needed
Blake James
plenty of detectives were involved in tracking down the Phantom Thieves so where the fuck was she?
Robert Cruz
>murders people over conveyerbelt sushi
Consider she's even mentioned on TV. It's stupid.
Thomas Gonzalez
They're afraid of having main chars show up in person instead of cameos. They let P1 chas show up in P2 but P3 onwards it's only a poster or mentioning on tv
