Yo is there a single nigger in this shithole that actually wasn't dissapointed with Dark Souls 3 after going in it after 1 and BloodBorne? Because I'm just after BB and that game was fucking amazing, seems pretty hard to achieve the same level

I'll be getting the GOTY edtion of 3 in the mail tomorrow, ordered and paid already

It's a little bit disappointing yeah but I got over it and had fun. It's actually a big step up from what I was expecting, Dark Souls 2 was so dissappointing that dark souls 3 actually being pretty good makes me feel relieved

Not me, still the only Souls game I haven't bought. Beat it once at a friends and that was enough, I was planning on getting the edition with dlc but the dlc doesn't seem remarkable either.

I wasn't, thought it was a great game.

Fine you stupid faggots Ill fall for the meme and play your shitty game. I'm not buying a PS3 or XBONE and I refuse to game on my PC, that's for working. Is the first DS actually important or can I just start with 2?

It's just not great. The best way to describe it would be Fast Food. It's just more Souls. Even DS2 had its unique things like the great PvP and online functions, DS3 is just... More souls. Not really bad, not that great, has few lows but also very few highs. And the DLCs are just straight up dissapointing, probably the worst DLCs in the series.

Better than DaS2 at least, but the other souls games (DaS1,BB,DeS) all beat it, imo.
I had fun with it overall but don't expect the same experience, and be prepared for DaS1 referencs every 20 feet.

It's my favorite Souls game, so I certainly wasn't disappointed.
It fixes many issues I had with Bloodborne, like the messy difficulty curve and the dumb healing system

OP here I never played 2, and imo 3 looks good from what I see but everyone says its shit

so I'm approaching it cautiously optimistic

>important

None of the soul games are important to each other, you won't get the story the first time playing trough anyway so it doesn't matter.

Sure if you play DS3 before DS1 you'll miss out on fanservice but that's it.

That said, the first Dark Souls is a very unique experience and for most it is the best along with Bloodborne, so if you can, you should play it.

What do you mean by messy difficulty curve?

It's better than 2. That's the only thing that matters.

Bloodborne is butt butt easy until the nightmare of mensis. The difficulty memes up to 100 and it's stupid shit

It's not absolute trash or anything, it's just not as good as the others, barring 2.

I felt like 3's difficulty curved spiked up a bit steep at Pontiff, all the boss's were complete pushovers until him.

Frenzy does not make the game suddenly 100% more difficult.

Unless it gets ported to PS4 I don't see how. Is DS2 actually a good place to start though? I've heard a lot of shit about it on here.

Bloodborne is tough at first, then gets comparatively easy by the midpoint, and then challenging again for the last boss (while the boss just before it is one of the easiest in the game). Dark Souls 3 is much smoother in this regard.
Also, many bosses are made unnecessarily more difficult by the camera and the overly cluttered arenas, and I think Dark Souls 3 alleviated these issues a lot too

Jumping in to say if you pirated the game you didn't experience the entire game.

Invaders are essential and you should not have an opinion if you didn't experience legit human invaders in your game.

Also DS2 PvP was better.

DS2 is besting DS1 in my experience.
All the funky weapon combinations I can make already put it above Zweihan/Claymore souls.

It's BB>=1>3>DeS>2

3 is uninspired but it has much better level design than DaS 2 and it has bosses on the same tier (Or arguably better) than BB in some cases.

There are only 2 DLCs. One is on the same level as the DS2 crowns, if a little shorter, and one is a bit below The Old Hunters in quality. All of them have nice bosses.

It has some flaws that hurt PVP (Estus chugging and rollspamming) but the bosses are built around it, which is fucking great. Some of the DLC weapons are amazing, but maingame weapons often have disappointing movesets.

Areas are pretty good, and it has this really strange Dark Souls 1 thing where every boss aside from maybe Greatwood has either top tier mechanical prowess or great music/aesthetics

PvP has too many ganksquads and rolling memes with no real way to punish. The Arena is actually god-tier in this regard though.

The biggest problem is the linearity and difficulty curve. The hardest thing early game is Gundyr and then it's a cakewalk until Pontiff's Winter Wonderland, Aldrich is a bitch and then you get Dancer's fat booty, DSA, THE CHAMP, Princes and the DLC bosses, which are all comparatively tough as nails.

In terms of lore, it's very reminiscent of DaS1. 2 just had references, 3 feels like a sequel.

The best way to describe the series is like this.

DeS: Game - Beta
DaS: Game
DaS2: fanG4m3
Bloodborne: From the makers of Game - Gamelike, new and improved edition
DaS3: From the makers of Gamelike - Game 2.

>imo 3 looks good from what I see but everyone says its shit

Stop believing everything you read on Sup Forums. People here love to exaggerate.

This.

I don't know why people rank DaS 1 so high, since almost half of the game is worse than anything that 2 has

Good level design and good aesthetics.

Bosses have fantastic introductions and music that make it an entertaining sceptical, even if mechanically they're a bit thin.

Level design is very open and rooms feel organically placed, compared to DS2's square box rooms. Verticality means a lot of possible skips and it just looks and feels good to traverse.

Level design is most cohesive. It's like Xenoblade Chronicles, where you can see where you're going in relation to the land you're on, from a distance you can see other parts of it and it makes geological sense compared to >Sky Elevators

2 also has like 3 good bosses to DaS1's 5

Someone please explain to me how DaS1 is better than 3? Because other than nostalgia I'm just not seeing.

I played Bloodborne after DS3 and was incredibly disappointed with Bloodborne, mostly because DS3 was a solid 60 fps while bloodborne was sub 20 most of the time and had input lag. Atmosphere was cool though.

Ironically Bloodborne, the alleged fastest game in the series, feels significantly slower than Dark Souls 1 on pc with DSfix.

>comparing 60fps souls to bloodborne

Yeah no shit. if you played all the Souls games on console prior to DaS3 at 30fps BB would be the fastest

Why tf is the GOTY edition not available on Steam?

it already arrived in the mail today from amazon, like 30 bucks total price with free same day delivery
still have yet to beat bloodborn after i stopped playing back when they forced you to do fucking chalice dungeons
apparently they patched that out, but fuck that was terrible
