Game set in the 60s featuring playable Kuze dealing with the postwar national identity crisis
Some possibilities
>Majima/Saejima/Akiyama game (3 is basically the limit considering the clusterfuck plot in 4 and 5)
>A complete new protagonist
>An AU reboot (Kiryu doesn't go to jail but Nishiki does, Majima goes to help Saejima and both goes to prison, etc.)
>Kazama prequel in the 60s-70s
I would like that if we could see Awano in his prime
I would hate a reboot, I wouldn't mind playing as another character that we have already seen though
I bet they're going to bring Kiryu out of retirement again
In the article they said that Nagoshi said they wouldnt pull it, do you honestly think they will?
It'll probably be another Ishin type game, as we haven't seen one of those in a while. Or Yakuza Kiwami 2 as that is likely, considering it's the best Yakuza game storywise.
I'm currently playing two and got to the rooftop scene with Kaoru and Kazuma earlier today, fucking solidified Kazuma as my favorite video game protagonist.
Make it so you can switch between kuze and awano throughout the story, Yakuza 0 style.
>owning a copy of yakuza 2
Better not be emulating user
Anybody miss the English dub of Yakuza? Also, has anybody seen the Yakuza movie? It's fucking kino
How is Yakuza 6 compered to 0?
Better?
I own 1-4 plus 0 physically user, bought them back in Februrary after beating 0
Worse, but decent
What makes it worse?
Does it improve in any ways?
Ports of 3-5 would be nice
It uses a new engine which makes combat much more clunky than even the PS3 games
Much less content, only more than the PS2 games
Has Nagoshi ever fully detailed the Dragon engine?
Am I missing anything from watching this on youtube since all the praise goes towards the narrative?

Back to cunnyposting, Sup Forums shitter
Yakuza games are very special and fun things
They always make a profit because there's nothing like them on the market
We need more games made that way
I was floored when I saw amazon had fresh copies of Yakuza 2. Such an odd time to reprint a ps2 game.
>female MC
Come on, Japan have been infected lately with this shit too
About time they shoehorn a Female Yakuza
>Am I missing anything from watching this on youtube
All the side content and substories which is what most people come to these games for (aside from the great stories). I doubt a channel will have EVERY side story so yeah. The Yakuza games already have a summary of the previous entries in the main menu so go with that.
Idol managing game
Why are Yakuza games NEVER ported to PC?
I want to see a high school setting with a completely new protagonist and go from there. It's a setting you don't really see in video games and if Nagoshi pulls it off then it will be revered just like Bully is.
Pretend Nishiki magically survived the explosion and got surgery and is the new protagonist
I recall real life yakuza complaining that Kiryu is dressed like a host, but I don't recall actual yakuza having good fashion sense.
The series has been historically on the PS, it also doesn't help that the west (which is the only market for PC gaming) has been completely neglected by SEGA of japan. Sony paid the bill to get Yakuza 0, 5 and 6 localized so it will most likely remain exclusive for the time being.
I rather have Haruka than this shit
This is so very true
Based sony
I'll be sure to buy yakuza 0 and maybe skip 6, as it's a new engine so there's sure to be polish issues
I really don't wanna play through Yakuza 2, is it alright if I skip to 3? I dont want to skip though, why couldnt they have remade yakuza 2 as well fuck
Fuck off, we don't need another series where the quality of threads here nosedive after a pc port.
Sega barely even care about releasing them in the West to begin with, they only did a few of them because Sony had to bug them into it.
It's basically a case of thanking our lucky stars that we get what we do.
Just play it user
>maybe skip 6
It's the kind of game you get for cheap. I unironically think 6 has the best substories as they're all voiced but the actual main story and lack of places to visit in Hiroshima is disappointing. Also locking out certain areas in Kamurocho that have appeared in previous games such as Purgatory was a dumb decision.
Is it bad that Yakuza is my favorite series? I'm only on 2 but 0, 1 and 2 so far are so amazing I can't possibly be let down once I get to the ps3 games. My friends ask me why isn't my favorite game COD or Overwatch, and it's because Kazuma is a fucking awesome protag.
You will regret it nigga
>He's not going to buy 6 for his JAVfu
A good shooter spinoff this time.
Nagoshi actually said he was interested in a game that takes place in the west, and if done right, I'd love to see that. The game isn't actually called Yakuza in Japan.
Also, Ruka/Luka was best girl in Yakuza 0. And OutRun is best game.
Alright I'll play it as soon as I get my computer back. I'm emulating because i cbf getting a copy or burning a disc for my ps2
Didn't all yakuza games minus one of them get localization?
I'm glad each sold enough to justify getting localized
B-BAKKA!
>Didn't all yakuza games minus one of them get localization?
The two samurai spin-offs haven't gotten localizations because (and I shit you not) SEGA believes that westerners will not understand Japanese lore enough and as a result will lead to poor sales
The PSP games were skipped too, but the PSP was LONG dead in the west by the time they were out.
Remake of both when?
Yakuza 5 is digital only if you got confused with that
You forgot to mention that in one of those spin-offs(Ishin) there is an in-game dictionary for all the crazy ass terms that get thrown around and explains in detail the hierarchy of the shinsengumi and other things that can cause confusion.
SEGA HAS NO EXCUSE REEEEEE
Which is the best Amon fight?
Any chance of them reconsidering on the basis that Nioh sold pretty well?
Give me some good Yakuza movies
Eng Sub only is fine
Couldn't it be the remake of Yakuza 2?
>Yakuza 6 is the last one to start Kazuma Kiryu
Shit, I don't know if I would be interested in a Yakuza game without good old Kiryu.
>not superior 90s triad movies
There is actually a Japanese movie based off of Yakuza 1.
Outrage 1 and 2 are bretty gud
We /johnnieto/ now?
...
If you don't own a copy of 2 after the reprints you are a fool
I hear it's real short and easy as hell to 100%
Maybe. Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin! is the best selling launch exclusive for the PS4 in Japan but Kenzan which came out in 2007 for the PS3 has child prostitution. I really doubt it would be localized as vidya rating boards would throw a fit.
There hasnt been child prostitution in a M rated game in the west? Find that hard to believe
REMOVE PROTECTING NPCS ON LEGEND DIFFICULTY. IT'S NOT FAIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
>studio that only rehashes Yakuza is rehashing another Yakuza game
Wow, is this news?
SEGA-Sammy is the fucking worst, I miss SEGA.
Should have bought Binary Domain.
>want to buy the Yakuza games to catch up after I'm done with 0
>Y1 shot up to $50
>Y2 spiked down to $50
>Y3 is $40 for some reason already bought the JP version for $20 at BookOff because of the cut content from the US version
>Y4 shot up from $20 to $40
>5 is digital only
>Kenzan and Ishin are both JP only
F-fuck
Maybe it's a good sign that 0 sold well so we have better chances of getting the games localized sooner
Atlus reprinted the hell out the SMT PS2 games recently and I think Rule of Rose is getting one (could be wrong) so it's not a big surprise
>it's some anons fault Sammy didn't market it
lol
i remember the vita danganronpa game had a loli who made allusions to being sold as a prostitute and that wasn't censored or changed in the localization
Why would you even buy ps2 games these days at all?
>Kiryu as the bad guy in the AU
This sounds so wrong since he's basically Yakuza jesus and everyone likes him.
gitto gudo senpai
>Go to game store where I live
>Yakuza 2 is 120 CAD
Where the fuck do you live so I can go to that place
What was cut from the western release of 3? W-Was it a lot because that is the version I bought.
Yakuza 5 came to the west like 4 years later because sony bugged sega to do it
Day of the rake when
Nigga, Kiryu needs a fucking break and doesn't need to be dragged to Tojo clan bullshit for the millionth time
>Everyone calls on him for fucking up the clan in every game after 1
I almost wished the Omi won
It was a lot of sidestuff
So much to fucking list it's not even funny.
forums.sega.com
is digital only
You think Sega could get Limited Run to print Yakuza 5?
amazon.ca
Quite a lot of side content. If you're just playing the story, it's serviceable
>60 CAD
Thanks user, time to never go to that place. Motherfuckers are greedy
Technically Kiryu's action led to the death of the 3 most important patriarchs (Shimano, Kazama, Nishiki) which is all according to Terada's keikaku, carrying on to 2 where the Shimano family basically went nowhere and the Nishiki family betray the Tojo
So yeah, some people are gonna blame him regardless
I bought Yakuza 1 and 2 two months ago and I bought Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 a few weeks ago. I say they were valid purchases.
>22 sidequests and a bunch of minigames like host club management
Holy fuck... well, guess I will need to live with that though. Also, did you guys play Yakuza 2? Does it have any loading issues like 1?
I will probably end up playing the second one on my PS2 since I won't have the patience waiting for Sega to remake it.
If your PC is half-decent, you can always emulate Yakuza 2
Just emulate Y2. It's much smoother than Y1 overall and you wouldn't want to just watch a recap in Y3. It's great
I had zero loading issues with my reprints of yakuza 1 and 2 so i can't relate
Wonder if it will be as bad as 6.
Anyone know how the psp games are tied into the main series?
