>skill ceiling so low that american nobodies can beat storied japanese legends
So why haven't we moved back to 3s yet? Smash players play melee. Starcraft players play Brood War.

I just don't know, PR Balrog is a fucking joke, he shouldn't be able to beat Daigo-sama
Third strike is overrated shit though. Just go back to 4.
can someone explain to me how SFV sucks? i'm enjoying it. sure i do hate how some characters require no skill and have dial-a-combo moves like karin and laura but some of the cast requires work like chun and fang and alex
>game is so accessible that the game isn't dominated by the same Japanese players that we've been seeing win everything for the last 20 years
>no arcade release for japs to easily share tech and build each other up
>japan doesnt get several months head start for once
>their true power level is revealed
I think you need to get that nip dick out your mouth, OP. They're as mortal as anyone else.
Balrog player detected.
You ever thought that maybe those 'japanese legends' are just washed up?
>Japanese ""legends"" are losing their edge since they're fucking 40yo
>Newcomers are beating them
WOOOW
WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING?
Very simple high damage combos
Playing defensive is very easy
Idk if its still an issue but AA lights were fucking up all forms of jumpins
Other things would be having to play survival to get colors. No arcade mode. Having to unlock characters with Fightmoney
>Playing defensive is very easy
You have no idea what you're talking about. The lack of defensive options is one of the biggest criticism the pros have against the game.
Stop pretending like you know shit.
Karin is actually one of the more technically demanding characters in the game, and all the characters you listed as requiring work suck massively.
You might have a skewed idea of the game right now.
You made this exact fucking thread two nights ago
Because the money is in SFV. Duty Fighter.
>chun sucks
excuse me, costume whore is top 8
>I have no idea what I'm talking about
Literally dead when Marvel comes out
It's sad that literally every fighter on the market is better than SFV but brand recognition is so strong that quality doesn't mean shit.
>top 8
Are you living in season 1? All Chun players have droppped her HARD. I havent even seen her online in forever.
Why'd they nerf Ryu so hard?
Except that literally every one of those fighters are shit.
The same reason they nerfed Alex, FANG, and Birdie, and buffed Rog and Urien.
They have no fucking clue what they're doing.
I'm living in the present, where she is still a very strong character with a high execution barrier that's preventing scrubs from playing her.
I see chuns every day in plat+ and they're all competitive
Then you just hate the genre faggot. There's a fighting game for literally all tastes
>strong character
No, she's really not. the IA legs nerf and VT being shorter gutted the fucking character. When was the last time you saw any pro play her?
Not that I'm complaining, IA legs was busted.
>IALL is negative
>sHP is negative
>her damage outside v-trigger is pretty low
>her ant-air was nerfed
>top chun players like GO1 and Ricki Ortiz dropped her
There are FANGs in plat+ too you know, doesn't make him a good character.
>implying I watch tournaments instead of playing the game
oh right this is Sup Forums where nobody actually plays games
I play the game AND watch tournaments, fag. What you see in whatever scrub tier you're in doesn't dictate how strong a character actually is.
shes still good shes just not as cheap with the air legs. she really did not get that much weaker, but other characters got better and moved into her place. The real issue is that the game doesnt cater to solid play and favors esplosive combacks and is based on luck. Things just happen in sfv.
Post your rank right this second.
also im just gonna leave this here, its a long vid but you can check the description for a time stamp about how they feel about the game. This guy also interviewed other people like bonchan too
youtube.com
3s is just as garbage as this game if not worse and in a few years when everyone is playing SF6 they will say the same shit about SFV and praise it for being a good game. Fun fact it's already happening with people saying that dumb shit about SFIV who don't remember RFADC, Elena, AE unblockables and all that retarded shit inbetween
...
>ur a scrub!
>ok what rank are you
>UR A SALTY SCRUB LMAO
just a question Silver buddy, no need to get so defensive
This happens with every fucking game. I will never understand
i think itll take a couple balance tweaks before people start to like 5. people didnt start liking sf3 untill 3rd strike. I also think we should have had a few more years of specifficaly ultra, because people didnt have enough time to figure out that elena was a fucking SSS++ tier and wasnt banned
That wasn't me dum dum, but it's fun to see you get baited anyways.
If you must know I'm Ultra Gold
>UG
lmao maybe one day you can make it to the big leagues
The real game starts at Plat, Diamond+ is good.
>I have netplay and thus can ignore high level head to head play
Sorry, didn't know I was dealing with a real badass.
Betcha I could beat you in a FT5 though. Post CFN.
He's good but Balrog in V is fucking retarded. Just keep throwing out various dash punches until shit lands and get huge damage.
Post yours I'll run that set
>all characters have medium attack combos
>1 or 2 pokes
>somehow X character is more technically demanding?
This is how i know you are just parroting shit people says, there is no technically demanding character on this game.
MFDOOM
>This is what 16ers are tricked into believing by the fgc
your right, nothing online matters and the real game starts at tournaments
Pretty much, yeah.
Except it's V and people can bullshit their way trough a tournament.
I dont understand.
>one person says it sucks and lists a bunch of definitive statements saying x sucks x sucks
>person replies saying nu uh actually x sucks and x sucks but x is good
None of this means anything. I like the game but because any reason I give will be bombarded with people saying things I like about it are "shit" I dont even know how to talk about this game.
>hasn't seen the most recent majors with all the americans in top 8
I'm waiting faygola. Better not dodge.
If he does dodge I'll play you
I might have to dip though I have someone on their way over
start by posting your main, so we can insult you properly
But everyone says my main is the worst in the game.
if you honestly like it good for you, odds are that you're in luck and they might keep pushint it to season 4 so it aint going anywhere soon. that being said i think people shouldnt act like this game doesn't deserve the "constructive criticism" its getting by even top players
No user, V is widely considered shit by most, even pros who's lives depend on a children fighting game hate it. It's just a shit game.
People hate 3s because it was not "balanced" yet no one actually played at high level since no one on here is from japan and even in Japan people didnt pick yun, ken, chun only, people also picked makotos, dudleys, q's, akuma and do not forget about that weird Japanese guy that picked hugo and shat on everyone.
People that like V mostly like it because it's the only game america could be good enough to play against asian players cause it lacks any sort of complexity in a mechanical way and in a oki way, shit sucks, it's a fucking stale game.
Look, 10 seconds of this video are more hype than years of sfv
I said she was more demanding than others, unless you think having to nail just-frame tenkos and juggles is as easy as medium medium into special? Relative to the game's overall difficulty, that's not more technical?
If your answer is still "no" I adivise you acquire some reading comprehension and game knowledge, user.
Im a rookie, not a top player so thats probably why
sfiv had 1 link combos and i doubt anyone semi-decent dropped them.
Also pro tip, sfv combos are mashable and the dash-punch from karin is plinkable. There's NOTHING technical about the game and karin is not an exception.
oh they dropped them alright, you just only remember highlight videos. Your underestimating the preciseness of 1/60 of a second
>he genuinely thinks "no baiken no buy" is why people don't play Guilty Gear
There are a lot of problems with SFV that put off a lot of people. I will list some.
>Neutral game is like a huge guessing game due to 3 things. 1) Low recovery on normals and projectiles 2) Shit range on normals. 3) Input delay. Those 3 things make the neutral game a thing where throwing buttons is a huge risk since you can eat a jump in and not throwhing anything may make you eat a dash throw to which you will not react due to the input delay.
>Monetary system is as jewish as it gets. The unlock system is garbage and you take too long to get a decent amount of fight money. Whats more, you have to do a shitty mode to get the most of it. Unlocking characters with in game currency takes forever and the single character costumes cost a lot compared to the bundle model used in IV
>Shit netcode for a lot of people. It takes too long to find a match for some people and it sometimes is a teleport fest for no reason at all. This point is debatable and most people will tell you "Works fine for me (:" or "Stop playing on Wi-fi", when in fact other games work just fine.
-Dumbed down combo system. SFV got rid of close normals and one frame links (most people didnt like them but idk, i loved them). Most links are the same and the room for creativity is pretty slim with some exeptions like Urien or Ibuki.
>Shitty defensive options. In sfv you dont have FADC, invinsible backdash, meterless invincible dp or a roll to get up after you hit the floor. It gets to a point where the attacker can do whatever he wants and the one defending can only block or tech throws. Some people like this but personaly i think that defense should be as active as defense, dps were already nerfed enough with crush counters but hey, capcom thought they were still too strong.
And that covers most of the problems that people have with the game. Some still like it better than IV and thats fine, IV had a lot of bullshit pre Ultra and even in ultra (elena).
Why do people (allegedly) not play Guilty Gear?
+load times
Good games dude. Close stuff. Don't get a lot of sim practice
Well played man, the comeback was almost real.
I'd play some more but I gotta help this whore find my house
Feel free to add me on steam if you ever wanna run more sets. Ranked makes me wanna tear my hair out.
Negative stigma with playing anime
Anime aesthetic is laid on too thick for most people.
Skill gap between total newbie and barely competent is huge even relative to other fighters, and if there's two things people hate it's losing and learning.
>mfw a plat dodges an ultra gold
>things people hate it's losing
Not just losing. If they hated losing team games would be graveyards. They hate losing ALONE. They have no one to blame but themselves. And a lot of people cannot handle accepting the fact that they're bad.
It's why fighting games in general are extremely niche. But I also think thats why its the best competitive genre out there, along with RTS.
Welcome to modern "esports". Look at Hearthstone, people still pretend that's a competitive game despite the skill ceiling being laughably low.
>Having Jap cock lodged so firmly down your throat.
esports was a mistake
>blazblue is seven fucking dollars right now
>zero threads
>but hey lets bash sfv some more
No one buys fighting games on Steam. Sup Forums also can't have BB threads because of the underage leddit brigade shitposting about "weebshit" the whole thread.
daigo makes me want to play guile
Don't bother, he's gonna be nerfed in the next patch.
he isnt really getting that nerfed, maybe hes top 4 now instead of 3
Why waste $7 when CF comes to steam in 4 days?
