Not a damn thing.

Atmosphere.

Fallout 1 had better atmosphere

Most number of threes in the title.

Ruin fallout for people who like turn based combat RPGs.

setting
post apocalyptic is a much more interesting experience than post post apocalyptic
>oh its just like nuclear apocalypse never happened but hey look we're stuck in the past and stuff whoopeee :^)
obsidian writes worse shit than twilight fanfiction

Disappointment

Perks and the GOAT tier 'cha-cing 'level up noise.

i spent 370 hours role playing as a slaver living in tenpenny tower. i enjoyed every second. except for mothership zeta.

Fallout 1 had a better setting

this.

...

however, fallout 1 is a boring pile of shit eclipsed by FO2

But the setting is still better.

Introduced a larger amount of people to Fallout. Myself included. And yes, 1, 2, and New Vegas are way better.

Best maze-like subway system.

Soundtrack.

Actually Interplay did exactly that years before Bethesda even got the license

Suck

Same fag, and no

Pretty nice OST, only Where Have You Been All My Life really matches how homey some songs in FO3 feels. Still wish they got Orange Colored Song in NV too

>Waaaaaaaay baaaaaack hooooooooome

The subway systems were terrible what are you even talking about

1 has Richard Dean Anderson

Exiting the vault.

That shit was memorable.

Hell everything in the OST that Crosby sang
youtube.com/watch?v=GFfaR3I--zI

Muh green sky and barren wasteland 200 years after the bombs fell.

4 looks way better just by having a blue sky

fpbp

I'll agree that it's memorable but it's waaaayyyy too long for repeat playthroughs.

Atmosphere.

It was best at reviving the franchise.

Fallout 3 had the best soundtrack, music, atmosphere, and setting. You literally cannot refute this. If you do your just a nostalgia fag, or worse... a New Vegas Fag

No I'm a fallout 4 fag.

Capital Wasteland is filled with idiots apparently.

It was pretty good, I'll give it that, but the text from Fallout 1 while leaving the cave is far more striking in my mind. "To the West, you see a natural light. For the first time in your life, you are looking at the outside world.

I preferred F3's radio over the other games' radios by a large margin, save for Three-Dog. I don't hate hearing his voice, is just that the news rarely changes, but that could be blamed on the limited significant events in the game.

Fallout 3 took everything that made Fallout 2 good and expanded on it. Anyone who pisses on it for not being "RPG" enough clearly didn't pay attention to what Fallout 2 did to Fallout 1. Fallout 1 was the only true RPG of the series, and afterwards it didn't matter at all.

How the fuck is 2 not an RPG?

>Fallout 3 took everything that made Fallout 2 good and expanded on it.

Apparently violence is what made Fallout 2 good because Fallout 3 completely disregarded everything else.

It STRONGLY favors certain playstyles over others. It's definitely an RPG, but severely cut back on the freedom of Fallout 1. Fallout 3 solidified the series as an action game rather than a traditional RPG, which is the point I'm trying to make.

Radio stations.

This has got to be the worst opinion I've ever seen

Please tell me what opinion I was making.

I mean looking at another Bethesda RPG Morrowind can be broken in 5 minutes with the Soultrap Glitch, just because a certain strategy is insanely broken doesn't mean it's not a good RPG.

i know,Better gameplay,Fallout 3 had better gameplay than every other fallout game besides 4(which had better gameplay but bad story),whereas 1,2,and nv, had clunkier combat (Ironsights in nv, disorients me and gives motion sickness) and 1 and 2's combat was just plain bad, I mean, who uses combat that relies on a dice roll.? and finaly, music, fallout 3 almost had the best atmospheric music, right next to fo1. maybe i am wrong on all of this, as my son and most of his freinds like 1 and 2 and nv.

I never stated otherwise.

The guy you replied to asked how 2 is not an RPG, so I don't know why you tried to argue that 2 favouring a certain playstyle somehow countered the inquiry if the guy asking how 2 wasn't an RPG.

>Who uses combat that relies on a dice roll?
Bethesda?

Waifus. Moira Brown is so kawaii.

>combat that relies on a dice roll.?
Someone's never played Morrowind, it seems.

You missed the line of, "It is definitely an RPG." Kinda seals the deal on my opinion of whether it's an RPG or not.

Her voice is absolute trash, Felicia Day is way better.

Pffftt

>Name one thing Fallout 3 did better than every other fallout game

The Mesmetron.

>You missed the line of, "It is definitely an RPG."
No, I didn't.

What's the whole point of mentioning, "it STRONGlY favors certain playstyles" as that is completely irrelevant, you could have just said "It's definitely an RPG".

The original post () said that 1 was the only real RPG, which was the point the user here () was contending. Mentioning how it favours X doesn't change the fact that the user pointed out it was an RPG and even you admitted you were wrong.

F3 had a couple things over NV. Radio stations had a better selection of music related to the fallout universe, this is just a personal opinion but I like a lot of the quests and locations in f3 over nv. Rivet city, little lamplight, tempenny towers, megaton . the D.C. strip. All these places had lots of diverse quests that you could choose to do in evil or good ways. Which brings me to my last point the karma system was way better implemented. They had one in nv but it was practically useless like a lot of other stuff they had tried to include. I honestly don't get the love nv gets while f3 gets so much shit they are very similar but I honestly think f3 is packed with more interesting content.

Fallout 3's moral choices are all saintly good and cartoonishly evil. New Vegas actually has some grey area depth.

How is 3's karma system better than New Vegas's reputation system? In 3 you could kill a fuck ton of people and nuke a town but if you give a hobo a bunch of water then you're a saint to someone across the wasteland who's never heard of you. In New Vegas, if you do a lot of bad and a lot of good in one place, you'll be known as someone who does a lot of good and a lot of bad in that specific place instead of being at around 0 karma everywhere.

I liked that.
>help out the NCR a lot
>kill Alice McLafferty for Cass' quest
>encounter some NCR soldiers
>"What the fuck, bro, make up your mind."
