What is YOUR revolutionary game idea Sup Forums?

>be kid living in suburbia
>game revolves around trying to find out all the different stuff you can do within the small map you are given
>for example: grabbing your airsoft gun off the counter and then meeting up with your friends unlocks airsoft fight story/mode which can branch off depending how you play it
>let's say you shoot a kid in the face after all the kids agree on "no face shots" when your start playing
>this unlocks an alternate side story/small map area where you have to drive to the hospital with your friend blablabla

basically the base map is just a small suburban end street and players try to find as many secret areas and activities to explore within the game. Some could be as easy as taking your dog for a walk and having it run away so that you have to chase it into the woods (an area previously not available) or they could be more complicated like making every possible bad choice in the game and unlocking an end game story that fast forwards a bunch of years to a scene of you in jail because of your life choices and the game turns into a mini stealth type mission where you get to break out of jail with some accomplices or something.

Essentially the game would try to incorporate a lot of different genres within it throughout these different activities and would bank on very atmospheric side maps and stories that feel very rewarding to unlock once you get used to seeing the same suburban map so much and since the game would limit handholding is much as humanly possible.

A multiplayer FPS with microtransactions.

Rude.

Supermarket Sweep VR.

that's it.

Oh I see, so a shit idea is now a revollutionary idea

I described muh dream game idea last fall in one of these threads and now I can't even remember the details anymore and can't find the read in any archives

>not contributing anything when they thread clearly states "your idea"
at least i actually have ideas user

>Start in room.
>WW3 just happened.
>Nukes everywhere.
>Walk outside.
>Mass panic.
>Run to stores.
>Fight people for supplies.
>Pure chaos rolls out.
>Options to go to neighbors and rob them blind, rape, kill, ect.
>Objective is to live as long as possible.

Basically 7 days to die except you can kill and rape innocents for goods and others will try to do the same to you.
>Deal with fallout radiation.

Hurr
>being an idea guy
etc etc.

A remake of Super Mario Bros but all the jumps are racist.

there's a reason its just a silly dream and im not actually wasting away writing hundreds of pages of narrative for a game that will never be released

besides that though i never got the whole "idea guy" meme, without good ideas you get dumb shit like new cod games getting released every year

is it multiplayer or single?

>You're a detective in a hazy, scifi - goth city
>Beige trenchcoat, fedora, chainsmoking, alcoholic and all that stuff
>You're investigating strange murders that lead up to a plot of you being always one step behing your own, time travelling, disfigured self.
>You slowly turn into the monster you are trying to chase, time and time again slipping into worse atrocities in your desperation to catch the culprit.
>The cycle goes on - Or will you be able to break it?

That's not a video game you stupid git.

some kind of wild west cyberpunk game.

augmented cowboys mate

no offence but that is objectively shit

>besides that though i never got the whole "idea guy" meme
Because you're an imbecile. Everyone has ideas. Ideas are worthless. It's an insult to people who want to participate in the process of game development but can't actually contribute anything of worth because you lack any sort of usable skill.

>Post-apocalyptic fantasy where Humans aren't the all-powerful race that controls all the nice green pastures
>The Humans ruled the provinces with a steadfasthold, but beyond the great river existed a wasteland filled with all kinds of vermin, scum, beasts and demons
>The unorganized rabble could never cross the river in any significant number, let alone organize themselves
>Yet the prophecies ring true - A great winter, like none other has come. The river will freeze solid.
>The Humans however, are prepared and launch an assault on the beasts as soon as the river freezes.
>As the armies reach the climax of the crossing, the ice crumbles underneath them and drown all the armies of men - dead and manipulated by the vile seer.
>Here begins our game, you're trying to survive and get revenge on the seer, with demon armies now free to cross the ice and no army is there to stop them.

NEET simulator. And I mean an actual NEET, not "I'm such an introvert you guys even though I have dozens of friends and go outside constantly".

>you lack any sort of usable skill
and you would know that how?
have fun working in the process of game development for steam survival meme game #2349028305 without any actual direction you retard.

>and you would know that how?
Because you're defending idea guys.

Have fun never working on a game in the first place, mongoloid.

>because you're defending idea guys
thats the stupidest point ive ever heard, besides, im saying that idea guys have their time and place and that some (not all, but some) have other helpful skills other than MUH IDEAS
>have fun never working on a game in the first place
trust me man, i am, thats why im just shitposting about my ideas on Sup Forums and not actually trying to start development on a project that I know will never get anywhere near what I would want it to.

I think I just want to make a low-poly horror game full of various vague-looking things that give the player grief, or maybe just a singular repeating entity that manifests in different ways with a smattering of silent, ominous NPCs who have also been affected by the entity to the point of not being able to acknowledge you. By their actions or their status, and the places you visit, you have to piece together for yourself what happened in the hellscape you're in. The enemy/enemies would have an audio cue for sure, but no cheesy horror bullshit. No stupid whispers or breathing or white noise or distorted audio. Something like the bombastic, pants-wetting chase theme from Clocktower on SNES or better, don't employ music at all and just have the pursuer(s) make everyday noises. Animal sounds or a radio broadcast, or gentle wind chime rattling. The audio will play a big part because the game would be dead silent most of the time with the only noises being the player's movements, contextual clues in the overworld to lead them in the right direction, and audio mimicry of those contextual clues from your tormentor. Every time you are caught/killed, you are not only sent back to an earlier point in the game but something changes as well. Your previous path has been shut, one of the bereft NPCs has died of strange circumstances, notes and key items are in the wrong places, a new hazard or even a new pursuer poses a threat to you, maybe the world even got a little darker and your visibility is hindered.

is that GUN?

>What is YOUR revolutionary game idea Sup Forums?
I had one, it was literally Total War: Heroes of Might and Magic, but then Warhammer came along.

yes

First person wrestling game based off the attitude era in wrestling with real physics

This except it's a zombie apocalypse. If you get caught by a zombie you have to play as one until you bite another player.

> Every time you are caught/killed, you are not only sent back to an earlier point in the game but something changes as well
if done correctly this would be super cool

Oh your one of those ps1 looking games look spooky fags

A game where the future looks nice instead of dilapitated rubble everywhere.

A proper successor to Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles with online functionality, but with all of the magic and charm of the first game. No MMO bullshit obviously.

It's a design choice. There's a well of untapped potential in low-poly horror/psychological games because everybody's going to see it a different way. The lack of details lets the player's imagination run wild, which can induce feelings of confusion, panic, paranoia and even second-guessing something you just saw. Whereas with hyper-realistic horror there's none of the same mystery or vague uneasiness and it can come off as trying too hard.

this 100%. I don't understand the whole "MUH DISTRORYED WORWLD" aesthetic, its so fucking ugly.

3D DALE WINTON SIMULATOR

I don't really get why nobody did a video game adaptation of the Takeshi Kovacs trilogy. Great scifi/cyberpunk themes and plenty of conflict to make an interesting game out of.

Maybe the concepts are a little steep for a large audience. Who knows.

Metal Gear Liquid

Yeah, man. I always wonder if some of these nice looking broken down buildings aren't at least as hard to make as a standing one, so why do it?

An open world zombie survival game? Why had no one thought of it before?!

Fuck you, it would basically be Cowboy Bebp: the game.

Which game?

A first person, sandbox MMO with a player run economy. Largely hard science-fiction, with the game set in a single solar system.

>space ships don't pilot like airplanes
>artificial gravity is from rotating sections of space ship or station made to produce centrifugal force
>players build their own ships and stations from modules
>you have to set up the computers and wiring yourself
>battles in space are like submarine combat on Earth
>space battles take place at range with drones and missiles while trying to keep the ship's emission signature low
>It takes multiple people to man a war ship, including damage control during the combat
>game is mostly economy though
>Alpha Centauri style factions
>Kerbal Space Program space flight but in first person only
>you have a bunch of distractions like futuristic gambling, decorating your cabin, vital ship maintenance during space trucker flights
>maintenance involves opening modules and diagnosing or replacing parts of machines

hitman always did a good job of creating good looking areas to explore that were still in good shape, shame the new one gets really repetitive after a couple of missions

>You are a legendary hero, everyone praises you
>You are a part of an order of heroes
>Game has Elder-god Tier waifus, pure elf waifus, megumin tier loli waifus and some trap waifus if someone wants
>Souls tier bosses
>Hand crafted living open world
>Social activities like persona
>Game is really comfy, you can have picnic in the beatiful view of waterfall with your beatiful companion and bathe together in water

Post apocalyptic survival game in an eldritch corrupted world. Its based around learning the magic of the monster to survive without being corrupted by finding rare pure magic.
With magic I dont just mean spells. This entire game will be based around rituals, enchantments, using/abusing powerfull objects and more basic spells. There could be a purification ritual that requires a locatie at a certain hight in a certain time with pure H2O, but the player wouldnt just know that instantly after finding the instructions because some of it might be writen in an eldritch language or must be decoded. Doing a ritual wrong might have dangourus effects such as summoning monsters or an debuff that must be purdged or maybe it way stay on you for a set amout of time.
The end game goal is destroying an giant eye on the moon (you can see it staring at earth when its night). Maybe you travel to the moon and kill it or maybe you cast a powerfull pure ritual with many endgame items to banish it.

Isometric open world Vampire:The Masquerade game.
"New Game" only allows you to play one of the lower clans at first and as you explore the city and progress with the plot, new clans are unlocked.
Each clan has different starting spots, different havens and different storyline, to unlock the full, epic story one has to replay the game as every clan and every sect. Playstyles differ according to clan, Nossie and Gangrel are basically stealth playthroughs, Brujah is heavy on action, Ventrue and Torrie are heavy on dialogue, Malk is mix and so on.
Combat is turn-based.

If you finish the Brujah playthrough, for example, your player character becomes an NPC for the Malk or Torrie playthrough.

Sounds really pandering. Your souls tier bosses will be good but most players will hate your waifu system.

Not 7 days to minecraft. I mean closer to gta v.
It will eventually turn into you and some other survivors on top of a tower on the run from a horde while some dude in some sleek swat gear lands his blackhawk helicopter, points his assault rifle at you and begins to pick who is coming with him (probably a fat naked neckbeard with 3000 hours in game) . If you were smart you made your avatar a big titty blonde and you get chosen. You'll have to dance for him at his compound for a while until you gain his trust and can make your escape.
Also if you do get bit you can upgrade your zed.

Also the game has a post apocalyptic MODERN setting. You can use guns and explosives to kill things and you can enchant those modern items to be more effective

Every game needs a system of waifus.

A fighting game with beetles.

english is not my mother tongue so bear with me...fantasy rpg, could be other kind of rpg), have to make kids, because if you die, you'll take control of your son/daughter. No ressurrection bullshit. stats of the kds are determined by the genes of the mother and father, courting is necessary to get non-garbage women genetics-wise. Spending money to educate/train your kids is also vital, since you wouldn't want to play as a lvl 1 after dying with a lvl 20 char. also there's a time limit, let's say 500 years cuz the ancient big bad evil or whatever comes to wreck your shit. Might as well add different health factors like quality of food, hygiene or the facilites of the home base (like a bath house, comfy bed, decent heating) wich factors in the aging of the character. Yes they will die of old age if they don't die in combat. It would be wise to start some business as well, this can be run by family members who are incompetent in combat. I admit I didn't give this much thought

People praises The witcher, I dont think they would hate just because of waifus. This one is has better gameplay tho. But they will hate it because game has anime artstyle like persona

People praises The witcher, I dont think they would hate just because of waifus. This one has better gameplay tho. But they will hate it because game has anime artstyle like persona

A persistent open world MMO game set in 'Gone with the blastwave' universe where players choose between 3 factions with different playstyles and permadeath

...

Sounds pretty grindy.

>Harvest Moon/Rune Factory/Stardew Valley like game
>Solarpunk setting
>No way to automate the farm or to take care of the animals
>Money is hard to get
>Several dungeons to get valuable enemy drops
>Meaningful seasons
>Make actual bounds with people, not just to get a waifu
>You can watch your fellow villagers grow old and die.
>When you die, your kid is the new protagonist.

Crusader Kings + Dune = NOBILITY IN SPACE

>No way to automate the farm or to take care of the animals
sounds fucking awful, i'm out.

Let me guess, you play as a faggot and score points by sucking as many cocks as possible in a certain amount of time it's like your biography but in game form

How close did i get?

Torture porn survival horror.

RTS in the vein of Supreme Commander but you have to design your own unit (and their AI if they have one) beforehand.
Unit AI design is actually important since you can only give order to units within a certain radius (expandable through structure or unit-mounted relays), however AI cores can be pretty expensive if you don't settle for the most low end versions.
To mitigate this you can make so that a AI equipped unit can give orders to nearby units (so you have 1 expensive "officer" unit leading masses of cheap drones)
However jamming is a thing and it's power are based on the distance between units and the power of the transmitters/jammers
You can use laser or IR communications but they are strictly limited by LoS.
If you want to really splurge money you can fit units with a special uplink that allows the unit to receive orders (NOTE: only receive) from anywhere without any interference by jamming or LoS but is hideously expensive.
Other than the AI the unit itself can be customized, weapons, chassis, sensors, weapon mounts, armor, etc.

An asymmetric multiplayer game very loosely based off of The Deadliest Game.

A group is kidnapped by some backwoods cannibal hillbillies and then escape onto the property. Unfortunately, it's all fenced off. The hunted basically are playing a survival game. Their win conditions are to survive until police arrive or to kill their captors using crafted traps or well-executed ambushes. The hunters have guns and a hound and are expected to track the escapees on the massive property. I don't know if the teams would be 1:1, but you can set the length of the game. Setting the game longer increases the time before any police show up and it increases the acerage of the area. The longer the games, the more of the survival aspects kick in as well. The hunted need to scavenge food and water from streams and ponds on the property. The hunters, of course, have rations and will just have more time to search.

I'm still waiting for it

>Pre-apocalyptic world
>Late Access
>Linear
>No crafting; instead you can only break items down into their components
>Whatever the opposite of survival is. Comfy?

I just want a remaster of total annihilation with better graphics

Wow fucking roasted me haha

It's a coop RTS : One of the players has the usual top down view and manages base building, unit production and so forth. The other player controls the commander unit in 3rd person view, and does the actual fighting and orders the units around.
Since player 2 doesn't have the minimap to see what's going on and where he's needed, the 2 players always need to be communicating.

Think Dawn of War, but one of the players can control units like he's playing space marine.

Fuck. I've always wanted to do this since I saw that one episode of Married With Children

max payne style game with juggle physics and dick physics

on the same character

how the fuck do you manage other units in a third person view
besides, there were maps like that in the first starcraft, they were called micro/macro, yes, two players to control stuff

GTA in a cyberpunk city

>how the fuck do you manage other units in a third person view
Ever played Battalion Wars ? It would be like that, except less shit. Or Brutal Legend, except less shit.
There might be a trend here...

Also Judge Dredd sandbox

A game withfun mechanics and fun gameplay

>saying the f-word
GET OUT OF MUH Sup Forums REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>MMO
>either no classes or loose classes which are all martials
>no combat magic
>pvp everywhere except towns
>simple lock-on action combat
>you must be within a level threshold to attack someone, that threshold is based off of location. For example, in a starter zone there's a 10 level threshold so a level 24 could attack a level 14, in mid-level zones there is no threshold
>start off at level 10, you're not the same level as a rat
>combat levels are not ridiculously stacked, a group of level 20s could easily kill a lone level 60
>infinite combat leveling but you lose exp on death and after level 80, you reset back to level 80 on death

>skills like runescape: dexterity, strength, defense, slayer, crafting, mining, metallurgy, fishing, cooking, alchemy, woodcutting, ranged, farming, beastmastery, hunting/tracking
>tasks require multiple skills: woodcutting to get wood, crafting to make it a shaft, mining to get ore, metallurgy to make it into a spearhead, crafting to assemble it
>low level tasks stop giving exp at a certain point, for example iron daggers give 0 exp after level 50 metallurgy

>a few factions built into the game, player clans function like factions
>massive map, traveling between towns is a commitment
>one small 1 sq km zone might be labeled as a section of a region, in that zone maybe there is a small ruin, a mine, a watchtower, and 2 camps
>a faction or clan could claim those individual landmarks by raising a flag, if they control all of the landmarks in that section it is marked as their faction's territory
>cities can be taken by taking the entire surrounding region

>extremely dull and unsaturated, bright colors are warning coloration that signify rich/powerful players while low levels blend in with the dirt
>dark, thin, sleek, solid aesthetic, no spiky glowing armor or bright metals
>armor tends to be form fitting and skin covering
>weapons very simply designed
>whenever you die a scar/burn/discoloration is generated, most are cosmetic but the more you have, the more likely you are to get more severe scars until eventually you lose an eye or smash a hand, high levels are not pretty and everyone falls from glory eventually

Fantasy western MMO, key features will be town building and railroad crafting. Players won't have to do the busywork of crafting a town if they won't want to. You can just inform a NPC about a node, get paid for it, and start to see NPCs head to the node and get to work building a town/railroad to get there. In order to cut down on ghost towns because players left NPCs can take over abandoned towns and start building on it depending on the mats nearby and what they can get from the towns nearby.

Think space trading rules in a western setting. Railroads are your warp gates and towns are your stations. There would be horse and buggy as well. Airships would be a post-release project and getting one would mean draining a few towns dry of resources to craft it.

Might have a mechaspider raid boss just because I loved Wild Wild West

You play as a scientist with a family, and you're tired of their addiction to their devices. You've built a time machine and accumulated a bunch of currency with an issue date of 1980 and before by buying it from people with jars of money buried in the back yard, and you're taking your family back to the past to spend a summer in a simpler time.

The CIA and the Department of Homeland Security think you built the time machine to prevent the events that lead to them becoming unconscionably powerful and have copied your time machine design through hardware backdoors in your computer's processor and sent assassins back in time to kill you. The first one doesn't show up until after you've unpacked and sent the time machine ninety days forward in time so there would be no temptation for your family to try to return early. You and your family must survive ninety days in the eighties with assassins trained for absolute loyalty to psychotic power-addicts on your tail.

I have read this entire thread and haven't seen a single good or revolutionary idea

>start off at level 10
Why not just make level 1 more powerful?

ideas are not revolutionary, its the implementation, the final product.

I like quite a few of the ideas here. Mostly the ones about travel being a dangerous, yet necessary prospect. I could also see scars being almost like a badge of honor. Like, someone's been playing enough to look really grizzled.

It's easy to shit on ideas without providing real critique.

>>whenever you die a scar/burn/discoloration is generated, most are cosmetic but the more you have, the more likely you are to get more severe scars until eventually you lose an eye or smash a hand, high levels are not pretty and everyone falls from glory eventually
Good stuff. I'm tired of seeing high levels that literally looks like a newbie but with larger armour that glows and shit. It might be cosmetic but that stuff alone would want to make you not be killed thus escaping on battle is far common than just get yourself killed since you're just gonna spawn anyway.
