Do people really want Sci Fi souls? Bloodborne was so fantastic because it was genuinely random, it came completely out of left field.

That's not to even mention the Lovecraftian element that nobody knew about up until release.

If Fromsoft release a "Sci Fi souls" i'll just assume that they're completely creatively bankrupt as if I didn't already know with that exhausted Dark Souls 3

A few people keep clamoring for it but it sounds absolutely retarded. BB worked because everything from the combat to the lore (aside from parries still being stupid) worked to reinforce the setting, but you'd have to make a lot of really flimsy justifications to still attempt basic sword and board shenanigans in a modern setting, especially if we're talking mechs.

I would like an underwater Souls-esque game by From. Deep ocean is mysterious and scary, and can be filled with imagination. Exploration and combat would take on more dimension.

inb4 someone applies their own limitations to this concept, assumes it'll control poorly, and discards it. In this game, they get the controls, camera, and mechanics on point.

I'm just waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3. I think the only worthwhile NEW Japanese game released in the last decade was Resident Evil 7.

We've had medieval fantasy souls with primeval forces. We've had gothic/late renaissance fantasy souls with aliens.

I'd be interested in current-day souls with an alternative history setting, where genetic biology and climate controlling technology develops much faster, but runs amok and a large island becomes filled with odd, extremely dangerous plants and wildlife.

I don't see how it would really work, so on that basis I would rather just get more fantasy games.
