but the last trick to reach the end is super tough, so a race would be the best option to avoid watching one guy fail it over and over again

Sega Bass Fishing was unironically the most entertaining/interesting run of AGDQ17. I want to see more like this.

That'd be ideal for the full meme experience, but a MSC run would already be putting an audience through a minimum of half an hour of sitting there building the car. Getting all the shit you need for the rally would just be torture.

The only worthwhile speedrun type events are those hosted by the streamers themselves. More casual atmosphere, no donation reading... people can fuck around and have fun.

Oh, well maybe they could get it done by the first in-game weekend then. You only need the roll cage, bucket seat and rally tires after passing inspection anyway, so that gets covered by doing a firewood job and towing a junk car or two.

Less of these ultra-optimized runs because they're always a tad sad. Like when people run NES mario where the record is about saving single frames and doing crazy precise stuff and resetting frequently and then they do a live race where they botch stuff and die and have like half a minute difference in time. It just feels retarded, it's such a poor representation of the state of the speedrun.

My favourite runs are games I have played but have never seen speedruns of. They bust out a lot of obscure SNES and N64 titles I used to own and play very casually and seeing those be broken to bits is always funny.
