Literally the same problem as you. I have three dudes that I refuse to let go and I'm trying to win this one battle with bandits without any of them dying.

I'm on my 20th retry by now.

I'd be willing to part with a couple souls here & there but losing at least one every battle & more often around 3 really depletes gold on hiring. Savescumming just makes me hate myself, like I'm banging my head against the wall, but it's better than restarting each time..

I finally managed to get a good enough run that I moved on. One of my men died and two of them got permanent status damages, but it's something.

i wish the actual battles played a bit faster sometimes they feel so damn slow

Not every battle can be won. You gotta know when to swallow your pride and run away like a little bitch

There's options for speeding up animations in the game. It's still slow after that, but you can also use cheat engine to speed the game up
