ITT: Casual filters

ITT: Casual filters

grinding up to level 99 and using a guide to get KotR doesn't make you a patrician OP

>grinding up to level 99
Levels give insignificant stats. It's all about materia in the late game.

You're still right though.

Never even saw him, when does she show up?

I do believe that the concept is that beating this guy without the use of a guide (which is completely casual), is xxhardcorexx

> not spamming Yuffie+ConformerxMorph materia against stat plus enemies
its p easy senpai

a casual filter is supposed to separate casual from normal people from playing the game, how does a boss that happens in the end does that?

if you want a FF7 casual filter, i'd argue that either the boss in the mansion or the boss inside mt.corel are better one

I was able to beat Ruby, but not Emerald.

>him
>she
make up your mind, Tumblr

I had to use a guide to beat both of them.

Are these threads trolls or what? A casual filter is a difficulty spike in the normal progression of the game - typically somewhere towards the beginning or middle. An optional boss does not meet the definition.

>post-game boss that can safely be ignored if not entirely overlooked
I don't think you understand what a casual filter is.

>grinding game takes skill

>spend 15 minutes making a gold chocobo so you can KotR + HP absorb + mime the rest of the game

What a hardcore boss

The casual filter is you responding to obvious bait.
You all failed.

You are like little baby

Here is REAL casual filter

...

...

You can make Dark Souls easy by grinding too.

no you cant you fucking idiot

I would play KH if it didn't have any annoying Disney characters.

>The first level is the ultimate casual filter

Sup

Sad that a lot of the younger crowd hasnt played this game.

?? wild arms 2?

...

My first time playing a randomly spawned dragon burned this fucker to ashes.

> hardest disney boss because cake in the ps2 version

will Hook ever stop getting fuckt

yo, my man, what's up!

holy shit fuck this dude
what's with peter Pan going balls to the wall with difficulty? RotS in 358/2 was a giant pain in the dick too

I don't get how Materia Keeper was suppose to be hard. I blew through it. Lost Number I can understand at least, since you probably don't expect it to switch forms at half HP and then you have to deal the opposite kind of damage. But most bosses in the game can just be beaten by spamming attack, almost nothing dealt more damage then you were expecting.

...

I got my shit pushed in a dozen times before i gitted gud

that boat didn't have any fucking manueverability

Legends of Legaia.

More like Lagiacrus or Duramboros

...

nah

>Great Jaggi
>Casual Filter

ah sorry, the 3d looks way similar

This and Phantom.

Holy shit Phantom.

The first group you run across and the guys in the plaza just ahead of them have the potential to fuck you in the mouth harder than Cleric or Gascoigne.

The unruly mob!

...

ITS ALL YOR FAULT!

kicked my ass and taught me english, good game

Were they around the same time? I've never played Wild Arms but I remember seeing it and wanting to play it.

It was nice seeing these two make people miserable all over again once bayo got on PC

No, Barroth was definitely the casual filter for 3. 3U I can see being Duramboros since Barroth was nerfed to shit.

The amount of times that I have seen people fail on Barroth was just frustrating. He wasn't hard, but people like to just charge at him and he does way more damage then anything at that point and doesn't mess around.

YOU
ARE NOT WANTED HERE

Lost Number is an optional boss though, and the Materia Keeper is piss easy.

I had more problems with Demons Gate the first time I played.

is he the bulldozer t-rex or the ice tigrex?

Why would you say that? I wouldn't consider the first level of Deus Ex a casual filter, since it can be beaten in so many different ways. Hell, even jumping on the fucking crates outside the liberty statue to get to the top is a viable option

Bulldozer.

OOUURGHHH...THIS TAANS FINISHED

I am glad to be able to say I can do these guys easily now. Parrying their shit just feels so right and then it's air combo death and then full Angel arms kill on the other one.

Barroth is the bulldozer. Barioth is the Ice tigrex.

congrats if you finished this level

...

it was pretty early in the PSX lifespan

It's good because people who never bothered with learning good aerial combo options and just stick to spamming stuff like pkp on the floor get fucked

>make two monsters that have nothing to do with each other
>give them nearly identical names
>put them in a game that has the single worst font choice imaginable
>put them together on a shitty 240p console with a ~3 inch screen

who was in charge of these decisions

>Optional endgame boss
>Dies to the very same tactic as every boss in the game
>Casual filter

SNES will always be GOAT of all time

...

3U Babbies.

Localization bares the brunt of that. Barroth should have been Boru Boru, a play on Bulldozer, but they couldn't figure out how to get that to an english equivalent without trudging on Barioth's name.

Literally just rush mode dodge

Sharkings were fucking dumb. If you weren't spamming turbulence on them they'd just rape you unless you had a twinked out dodge tank.

DS1 Oreo and Smogh

...

Not much, what about you?
Couldn't find a better picture.

>you remember every singla line.

i just stood on a rock and shot him with 200 or so arrows.

playing video games with anything other than a normal controller.

It is rather fun trying to beat the super bosses using actual tactics and not just abusing KOTR or Omnislash spam, or the overflow glitch.

Ruby's mechanics are simple, but fuck people up so much. You need for a single person to be alive going into the match, that person needs to have some way to heal themselves very easily so that they can concentrate damage on Ruby's arms. Then once he's taken them out of the ground, you can then revive your party.

...

What's that? You're using BOTH Lynx and Harle?

Really? This was so easy.

...

fuck this boss

...

You are not a TRUE Looney Tunes fan if you don't play their games with this

I honestly think the added the feature to skip cutscenes in the following games after people complained about this guy, I still remember the night I spent taking turns with 2 friends as a kid to beat this fucker

>when the casual filter is also the best sequence in the entie game

...

...

Does he have wind up or are they just expecting you to always keep buffs up?

You can fuck Ruby weapon over just by using Hades.

Probably because it's boring

How was he hard? I remember taking forever in the maze with beast but can't remember a single move for that guy.

an optional boss in the American version is a casual filter?

I fucked up. There are some things you cannot do in this battle or he will cast that move.

Same with this fight. I think one of the fights you absolutely cannot buff yourself up to max.

AWAY!
AWAY!

Not really a casual filter, but fucking dumb cavs

>Not using W-item to max morph them

Way to be a loser, Greg.

>sword combo > exploding presents

I still remember...not sure how but I do. those gba bosses were busted as heck but so much fun

i was 12.

>dude lemme just flood your base with troops on the last minutes lmao

>only gets harder in HG/SS

Singlehandedly taught me that Normal isn't a shit type just because it has no resists

pretty much the entire route to Kellogg is a casual filter long before OS

>gore magala is casual filter

but he's the easiest fucking monster i've ever fought in the entirety of the series

Easy enough. Bit difficult on hard to complete the side quest as well though.
