what went wrong?
What went wrong?
It wasn't Pokemmo
No actual battling
Pokemon Go was always just going to be a "summer fad" type of thing. Maybe it'll pick up again this summer, maybe not.
Also this
Pretty much nothing like the trailer with no launch features and unfriendly to sub-urban retards
Battles are mindless crap
Leveling is done by feeding candies and no actual interaction with your mon
No group events to capture legendarily after a year
Removed footprints indicating distance
Overall this entire thing is really really shitty and not much of a game
They waited way too long for the added features
no updates for weeks
no updates for month
>updates when everyone jumped ship
they removed my ability to map snipe
>billions in profit
>went wrong
Okay.
I genuinely don't think much went wrong, really. It's just the nature of mobile games. By design they're just quick flashes in a pan, and then they die off
Just another reason why they're cancer
It worked because pokemon.
It didn't last because they didn't improve the system or implement any of the things they promised. I think they didn't even do a trade system.
>If you didn't live in a big city you got fucked over
>Slow as fuck updates
>Added things nobody actually cared for
>Never fixed the tracker which was one of the most important features
Actually with how the yen lose its worth and the cut niatic and google took, Nintendo made pennies out of this venture
The devs had 0 communication with the community and refused to listen to anything.
they banned players who leveled to fast.
i am one of 'em
literally nothing from the trailer represents the gameplay
POKEMON GO TO THE POLLS
This
And this
They pretty much stepped on their own dicks, they deserved to fail.
Shitty gameplay. My friends play this religiously, but I asked them if they would still play it if it wasn't Pokémon, and they said no. All this game has going for it is the Pokémon label, and once people get over their nostalgia there's no other reason to play.
No battle system, terrible capture system with relation to spawns, fucking over rural players with pokestops as almost everything were in major cities, no daily rewards or consecutive login bonuses, terrible gym concept, no trainer vs trainer battles, no trading, no anything.
The first week of release was horrendous, they ignored googles' offer to help their server stability. They then decided that focusing on releasing a stable build with new content (or fixing all the bullshit) was stupid, so they instead focused on fighting cheaters.
Not to mention purposefully disabling the tracker and then lying about it until called out. And then shutting down alternative trackers that people were using BECAUSE they had no ingame tracker.
Like what the fuck was Niantics problem. They didn't do anything right.
Wrong? What are you talking about? This game made millions of dollars and is still being played by young children and housewives aka people with enormous disposable income.
This is solid proof of what happens when you let western developers use your franchise.
But SOCCER SPIRITS just celebrated their third year running and are releasing new content.
Maybe you need to play better mobile games?
As a game it had no features that draw people to the Pokemon games, aside from having Pokemon
As a hype machine/marketing tool, it did phenomenal. I got into the TCG because of Go, and a few of my friends bought Sun/Moon after not playing mainline games for years.
It's not a game.
>Soccer Spirits
>Good
lol
Good luck doing anything if you're not a whale
the hype was real, people were already walking around town with the unreleased app, gathered in big ass numbers to get pokemons, didn't matter if you played it or not before. You even had old folks dropping in because of how addictive it's was
It's made you get out of the house, search for shit instead of just being inside the house, but they had to fuck it up by removing the tracking system and don't change a single thing on how you catch pokemons. The hype died fast after that shitty update
they made stupid decisions like banning anyone with a rooted of jailbroken phone to try and combat people spoofing gps and atively screwing over the map apps while also making it pretty much impossible to know exactly where a pokemon is all the while not really communicating with the community making people think they were just abandoning them.
I would say the western picture is much more realistic
Literally everything.
>Ruined tracking
>there's not much to catching
>can't train pokemon, only level them up by catching more of the same mon
>it's pointless anyway because gym battles are awful
>no fucking trading. The very thing Pokemon was created for
>you're fucked if you're not in a big city
I wish I could give more points but there's not even enough to complain about. The game is barebones as fuck if you can even call it a game.
>Playing a censored game
>playing games for the realism
While there are many reasons why, one of the main reasons for me was the fact that Pokemon you catch are just disposable tools to get more candy.
They really should have figured out a better way to level up your Pokemon.
Stopping people with rooted phones for no good reason.
That's like not letting me play a game because I'm on an account with admin right. Seriously retarded. Fuck Niantic.
The game was always bad, was only fun to play with friends. After a few weeks it got old and died from that.
Don't forget:
>While going over the ingame speed limit, Pokemon no longer spawn, and you can never get pokestops on the drive as a passenger, it always says "Try again later"
That was literally half my playtime, something to do in the car while we're going somewhere. Would play my bf's account at the same time so we both got stuff on the way. The other half was walking around the places we went or mall restaurants and shit.
okay point to where in his post he was talking about nintendo
They removed more than they added.
