This. Everything from the combat system to the controls is so console-like that it's sickening on the long run. I wanted to do a playthrough but I just couldn't force myself after a point.

Otherwise this, but the 7/10 is too high. If it didn't have the Dragon Age logo on it, nobody would care. It's a pretty offline MMO with shallow RPG elements and low level of immersion.

Andromeda is a much better game than Inquisition. I honestly don't get the overblown hate Andromeda gets here, sure it's not the best in the series but it's still a pretty good game with flaws.

The combat is essentially holding R2.
You spend all your time running around these environments that feel like they were made for an MMO where they kind of look awesome when you're watching the whole thing from a distance but when you're inside it, it looks samey and empty.

Dialogues are too few and far between, with only romancing dialogue having any thought put into it, and you're literally getting more gay or bi options than you are straight ones.


There are like four armor and weapon models through the entire game, so you'll be getting a lot of equipment that slightly changes the tint of your gear when you swap it, and it doesn't get any better when you gain the ability to forge your own.

You're constantly asked to fetch items and other little trinkets that are scattered over the map that are just pure tedium personified, we're talking like probably at least 40 hours of fetch quests not for people, but for random system messages that pop up with "Black cawking 1/10 find, collect them all!" kind of bullshit.

That's simply not true. There's a lot of variety but the game makes it seem like there's not by using the same models for several differently named armors. If you remove those then there's still some heft there. More than origins at least.

That's right, hence why I tried to play it in the first place. Same goes for DAII, but it was such a massive let-down compared to Origins that I haven't even touched until before Inquisition came out.

Even though I dislike ARPGs, DAII was a pleasant surprise and it worth the time I put into it. Ironically, DA:I delivered what I expected (minus the MMO elements), but it was still a disappointment.

I've recently played through it. Incredibly charming and entertaining, especially if you're familliar with Dragon Age.

Best romance options are Solas for female elves, Cullen for other women, and for males, either Dorian or Iron Bull.

I liked how in Origins you could always have some kind of extremely rude option. Like when your companion opens up to you about their tragic past you can be like "Get over it idiot. Fuck off". I really hate how voice acting took options like that away. Because every time I get some bs from a character about how they're gay or trans and how horrible it is, I just want the "I'm playing a video game dipshit, go fuck someone's ass" dialogue option.

It is the most mediocre game I have ever played. I only played combat as a sword and board and I was fucking invincible once I got a handful of skill points. Any mildly tough encounter would inevitably end with all my retard teammates dead and me out Guarding all damage and slowly whittling the enemies to death. Combat difficulty is based too much on how many health potions you have. In DA:O, and 2 you could program your allies with If/Then statements but now it's just "Guard, Attack, use more/less potions". Tactical mode is useless for anything other than reminding your team to not cook themselves alive in a dragon's fireball.

The dragon fights had the most potential but you go through 90% of the fight alone and damaging legs, tail, head does nothing significant.

The companions themselves range from boring(the Grey Templar) to annoying(Sera), and they all get along perfect and happy despite their vastly different opinions and backgrounds which just makes the entire party in general very lackluster.

THe story is the exact same as the first 3 Devil May Cry games. That is not a joke. A bad man wants to open up a portal to a bad guy realm to become a god. You're a mook who stumbled in on him shanking Mother Theresa so you have magic powers.

Everything about this game is just so bland and uninspired. I don't hate it, but it's impossible to feel anything more tepid boredom while playing it.

Not if you enjoy upgrading armor. There are a whole total of three armor sets that are different from one another and you get them at the beginning/middle/end of the game. You change armor a hundred times through the game and most of the time when you do, only the color changes visually.
Not to mention most armors look gay as fuck.

From playing Civ5 I know that Ethiopia had one dude that looked pretty dapper and not tribal running it at one point.

I can't tell if it's disturbing for console players or not. See, Origins got ported from PC to consoles but it had customized, system-specific controls. Not to mention it's combat system was much more customizable (and miles better) than DAI's.

My issue with that Bull-shit I linked above is that it was anti-climatic. It goes against everything we've learned about the Qun until then. Remember, you spent most of the DAII dealing with a Qunari leader who strictly acts on rigid rules of Qun.

The Qun is supposed to be the most oppressive society in Thedas but it comes out as the most progressive one if you'd only ever played DAI. Meanwhile no attention is paid to your player character getting shit on all the time for their race/religion.

Inquisition seemed to be overcompensation for DA2 and they overshot the mark. The biggest complaint with DA2 was the repetitive environments and combat. So they make bigger environments and Origin-like combat. But then they realize that the combat would be boring for casuals and add DA2 elements, fucking it up completely. And they don't have time to use said massive environments so they just fill it with fetchquests. Drop the ball on dialogue and cutscenes.

DAI with another year in the dev cycle could've been a 9-9.5/10
