>Konami brings back an old IP out of no where
>Update to help fix all the problems
>Free content like characters and maps.
It's happening
Konami brings back an old IP out of no where
Kojimadrones will hate this.
Every other sane persone on the planet will love this.
I'm more surprised that Konami is supporting a game for this long, was it that much of a success?
naaaaahhhh.
im sure even kojimadrones will respect this,
kojima is not the only reason people hate konami
>Konami will never make another Gradius
Why live?
In japan it was... For a bomber man game
They paid the devs jackshit to make it and it has 200k+ sales despite being overpriced.
>The last. true Gradius game was Gradius: Rebirth
>it was released 9 years ago on the Wii
>It's been all phone and pachinko since then
>Kojimadrones
>not SH fans, Gradius fans, Castlevania fans, people who would have liked to download PT, people who wanted a complete Metal Gear Solid V
Uh huh
Forgot Zone of the Enders fans
too bad the game is still the same shit from 20 years ago
I like bomberman but it died out for a reason.
So did Konami
>but it died out for a reason.
Yeah Konami stopped making them because they were quitting videogames.
No, because bomberman has never evolved in gameplay and has actually regressed since the N64 days.
It plays exactly the same as the game on the Super Nintendo
This feels too good to be true.
Whats your game, Konami? When do you spring the cruel twist?
Absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Every system every gen should get a Bomberman game.
Same with Tetris.
the difference is that Tetris isn't $60
Kojima is the reason Silent Hill and Castlevania died too.
Made a half ass demo that didn't go anywhere for Silent Hill and he forced Iga out and thought God of War-lite was a good way to go with Castlevania.
Maybe it's because they got Nintendo to support the project.
I'm hoping they create a collection of the DS trilogy remastered for the Switch
PH Bomber best boy
Everyone's so quick to forget. Last year Konami was everything wrong with the industry, many swore never to support them again. What happened?
nothing has changed, it's just nostalgia faggots parading their corpse around in a last desperate attempt to resurrect their boring franchise.
So is the game good now or not quite yet?
They need to have some willpower. They killed nearly every franchise they had and left the rest to die, they treated their employees like absolute shit, and now because of a Gradius bomberman costume everyone forgives them? Fuck that.
it's not even konami, it's hudson. Hudson is chained to them and basically don't get to work on bomberman anymore, so they're desperate to get it selling so they won't have to leave or be assimilated into Konami's pachinko department.
Everything I hear is that no matter how much the framerate and graphics improve, it's still just a regular bomberman game.
Vic Bomber is legit cute, especially considering the franchise is about a sorta-Doomguy destroying massive machines, easter island heads, and giant fucking brains.
It's always nice to have principles.
It's also fun to play as pyramid head.
What a bind.
>no Jehuty bomber with skins for the Vic Viper bomber
Am I supposed to pretend free dlc and a 60 fps patch is supposed to be a bad thing because they have done bad things in the past?
Pretty sure anyone who worked at Hudson jumped ship like a rat on a sinking boat when the buyout happened.
That could still be a good or bad thing.
>PH
Well that's... something. Neat.
So when are Snake, Raiden, Dark Magician and Frogger getting in?
It could all be blamed on Kojima since he sucked up the resources of every other developer for Metal Gear Solid. Now that he's gone, Konami can expand out of gambling if they see there's a market.
would you pay $60 for a bomberman game?
I still don't know how people can support such terrible business practices. Everything you do to help Hudson, you're helping Konami 10x more. Konami gets the bulk of the money, Konami's name is the one plastered everywhere, many younger people haven't even heard of Hudson. I don't think it's worth going back on everything that they've already done, personally. It's just a matter of time before they get kicked or moved regardless.
Why bother? Profits are up this year, and that was after dumping everything for pachinko.
kojimadrones only hates konami just for mgs and they don't care about other franchises like bomberman, castlevania, contra, silent hill (they did just for PT, but if Kojima didn't make the demo they will not care).
I might pay $43ish if it's good because it's $50 and not $60.
my last konami game was, and is, MGSV. Not hard to avoid a company like that, I stopped buying EA games when ME3 came out and haven't had any issues.
You're a fucking moron. Konami BROUGHT BACK some of the devs of Hudson to make this game. So this is not just Konami giving a C team dev team the IP to play with. This is a legitimate bomberman game.
>they don't care about other franchises like bomberman, castlevania, contra, silent hill
neither does konami
Kojima made the best SH game in the last 10 years and it was a fucking 20 minute demo.
I think in the grand scheme of things it's going to cost me very little for a bit of fun. I'm struggling to have any ethical dilemma over this.
space schmups are no longer marketable since you can easily find clones on the internet for that sort of fix for free, and it's really difficult to recommend games in the genre when most play the same with a few glowing exceptions.
if Konami were to reboot the franchise, it might go 3D which might not gel with some people. would be a step up from a gambling machine.
I can't wait to hear how cheesy Belmont's voice is. anyways I bet with the success of bomberman they might start testing the waters of others series, most likely Castlevania
>classic Barbarian Belmont instead of Kojima's abomination
Good.
>The patch lets you turn the fucking god awful camera in story mode
Honestly the best part
Reminder that everyone shitting on Konami is a butthurt Kojimadrone. His management style was the chief reason Konami turned to shit.
Hey, I was never a Kojima fan. My hatred is due to the way they treated their employees, admitting that all they care about is Pachinko, and then PURPOSELY GOING OUT OF THEIR WAY to fuck over fans of certain things.
>tfw you love Metal Gear but you're also enough of a level-headed adult to know Kojima was running them through the fucking ringer
Having to explain to my spoiled ass friends why it was a problem that Kojima would blow millions of music and then throw it out was a treat
>YEAH BUT HE'S AN AR-TEEST
>why it was a problem that Kojima would blow millions of music and then throw it out
Explain.
Exactly what I said
Kojima was blowing the budget for MGSV, he was spending millions of Konami's money on recording sessions just to go "nah" and throw it all out.
Part of why the Konami head and Kojima used to get into huge fights was over how Kojima would just spend money like crazy with no outcome.
no... I KIRRED CAREVRANRIA !!!!!!!!
>Reminder that everyone shitting on Konami is a butthurt Kojimadrone
Or maybe someone who's frustrated that they've let Castlevania and a bunch of other interesting IPs rot.
Thats another thing. They let the head of the Lords of Shadow team become a primadonna asswipe and ruined it.
That was under Kojima's watch since he was the producer and he kicked Iga out.
Is Kojima the Tim Schaffer of Japan?
This is like complaining about Tetris.
Fuck off retard.
I don't think so. He oversaw the first one, but 2 was made without Kojima Productions.
Probably explains some things.
ding ding ding ding ding
People just like Kojima because "he's hip and posts that old music i liek, le born in the wrong generation"
I'm gonna be extremely casual in saying this, but honestly, Zone of the Enders and Gradius looks like franchises that should be revived by Platinum Games.
No, you're absolutely right, but people are still gonna shit on you because xD LE PLATINUM
>It plays exactly the same as the game on the Super Nintendo
There's a reason of why this game its called "SUPER" Bomberman R, you know
Also anyone with two brain cells know what R means in this title, considering the game uses Super Bomberman 1-3 story and gameplay as base
That honor goes to Inafune. Kojima is their Peter Molyneux.
>Never played a single Bomberman game except for Atomic Bomberman on DOS
>Bought Super Bomberman R because I heard Bomberman games are fun for multiplayer
>Also bought Bomberman 64 because everyone wouldn't shut up about it
>mfw they're all extremely mediocre in one way or another
I love how stupid over the top anime hero White is though
>B64 mediocre
Are you dead inside or something?
>Also anyone with two brain cells know what R means in this title
Reboot? Remake? Revengence?
What's really criminal of Kojima is he didn't bother to help out any of disciples like you see at Nintendo.
Rising is proof of that.
Should note he was the vice-president for Konami that make sense.
>yfw Konami eventually licenses out all of their franchises to Nintendo
Inafune is a conman who can't deliver on his promises.
Kojima is a fiscal black hole who is coasting on stuff he did decades ago.
>they actually remembered Castlevania
The Twinbee reference in the main game is more surprising to me
>Made a half ass demo that didn't go anywhere for Silent Hill and he forced Iga out and thought God of War-lite was a good way to go with Castlevania.
whoa there, better cool off those hot opinions there, because Kojima was barely involved with Lords of Shadow. The extent of his involvement was advising on the main character's facial design, and voicing a joke character. Beyond that, it was purely for marketing reasons.
IGA dug his own grave when he thought a castlevania fighting game was a good idea- with character designs by the Deathnote artist.
if you want to blame someone, blame Konami, who saw his 3D SotN pitch and Konami Europe's "3D Super Castlevania" and picked the latter, only to then fuck that over as well, by getting cold feet and revoking the IP, forcing the game to be not a CV1 remake, but an original IP knockoff title, until Kojima stepped in and made Konami stop fucking around and give them back the IP rights. (his other contribution)
the blame is solely on Konami and it's shitty management, not on Kojima or Mercurysteam
So, Warren Spector? Cliffy B?
>Warren Spector: A hero who's gifts went unappreciated
>Cliffy B: The man who made one good game and was in the first Nintendo Power.
