0x A press may actually become a reality

0x A press may actually become a reality

Is this what the crew of Apollo 11 felt?

But why does he not want to press A?

...

His uncle watched him play games and he sniffed his hair every time Mario jumped

You have to press the A button at least .5 times to start the level don't you?

Nope, I'm pretty certain I've heard that the pole is the only required a press in any%

>You have to press the A button at least .5 times

you can't press half a button, retard

You tryna start something buddy

The next stage will be unlocked once somebody completes a 0 A-press run. We are just scratching the surface. Nobody know many layers there are to mario 64. Who knows what is next. The game just keeps growing

Honestly, I wish there was mystical stuff like this is games.

because a platformer is defined mostly by jumping. he wants to beat the game by removing(as much as possible) the defining characteristic that is jumping

So he wants to turn platformers into year-waiters? That is kind of a step backwards.

>Finally, I’d like to answer a question that I’ve been getting since the beginning, which is: Why? Why play the game with limited functionality? What’s the point of executing these complicated techniques when a simple A press would accomplish the same thing? Well, the answer is because it’s fun and interesting! Super Mario 64 has been a game that I’ve loved since my childhood, but over time the challenge of collecting the stars became too easy. So what’s left to do in the game after that? Well, invent your own challenges! If collecting the stars is too easy, then why not impose restrictions to make it harder? People have devised several of these challenges, such as: not pressing A, not pressing B, not pressing Z, not pressing any buttons, not pressing the joystick, not opening any cannons, not activating any caps, not collecting any coins, not touching the ground, not leaving the ground, even not having Mario make a sound. By imposing a restriction, it forces you to think in new and creative ways in order to find workarounds. That star that’s usually so trivial to collect? Now it requires an unintuitive and complex route that would have never been used otherwise. Out of all of the challenges, I find the A button challenge to be the most interesting, in that it has the most potential for creative workarounds. After all, the A button’s primary purpose is to jump. Since the programmers intended for Mario to jump during every mission, this means nearly every star will require some workaround. Furthermore, jumping is such a simple maneuver that many things can function as a substitute depending on the situation, which allows for a great diversity in creative workarounds. Lastly, the desire to save A presses has been beneficial for SM64 as a whole. That’s because in order to save A presses, new glitches have been discovered and certain game mechanics has been better understood, and these findings carry over to other areas of SM64 as well.

>year-waiters
what is that?

the dude just really likes the game, he wants to break it down in any way he can

Is there a community of autists doing this shit coming up with all these terms he's always talking about?

Or is he making up all these terms himself like a turbo sperglord?

I feel sorry for this kids parents, if I had a son I'd rather him die of heroin addiction rather than be a helplessly autistic meme

It's an allusion to the fact that in order to do this shit, you have to wait for fucking ever.

Of course, who do you think found Pedro spots? Certainly not a guy named Scott. Also Pannenkoek didn't even name parallel universes.

It is amusing that he does that but he presses other buttons or does other actions to let him gain height. So he is still platforming in a platformer.

right, but its become incredibly difficult. its not like you can play a platformer without platforming, but jumping is usually how you would accomplish that

see

How can people be so shamelessly addicted to nostalgia to this point, do they even plan to ever move out of their parents house? Do any of them have jobs?

What a pathetic existence

he is employed as a programmer

I WANT NORMIES TO LEAVE REEEEE

This new weapon against the final any% A press could very well slay it, but it looks unlikely so far. Could save some time for reaching the red coin under the first elevator, though.

It's like those guys who do speedruns of high difficulty SM64 mods.

the worst part is that they dont know anything about the guy, they just assume he's NEET. I wouldnt doubt he has some slight autism, but Im pretty sure he's an independant and functional adult

>Final Fantasy 13 only let you go though hallways
>Super Mario 64 lets you explore parallel universes

>I feel sorry for this kids parents, if I had a son I'd rather him die of heroin addiction rather than be a helplessly autistic meme
Nice projection son

You know, once Pannenkoek gets past the pole, he has to make a full 0x A playthrough of the game. And he's guaranteed to have to make some commentary for that.

You thought Watch for Rolling Rocks was meme bomb? This will be a meme nuke.

HE CAN DO IT
