Petrify status

>Petrify status
>Instantly dies if hit while petrified

>only way to remove petrification is with an item
>otherwise its certain death

Thanks, dragons dogma.

>petrified status
>permanent death if hit

Or a sorcerer.

>health cut in half if cursed permanently unless you grind for shit for hours

>bosses aren't immune to petrify

>game ends if protagonist dies

>party members die
>can just revive with spell or item
>or they get up after battle
>or take them to church
>or just tap their shoulder and they get up
>MC dies
>instant game over no matter what no chance to come back reload sucker

I wish this happened in final fantasy tactics so I could get past this stupid wiegraf fight

>it also works on enemies.
Feelsgoodman.jpg

>most bosses are vulnerable to at least one status effect
>you can destroy most bosses with zero difficulty if you know what to use

>Bomb status

>status effects aren't healed after battle
>poison can kill you

50% Instant death chance on every hit you land or receive

There are sometimes some game mechanics in place to help with that.

>charm status
>party members begin attacking you

>Sorcerer gets petrified

>charm the charmed party member

>party member gets charmed
>starts using all the items
>unequips gear
>attacks teammates

Thanks Etrian Odyssey Mystery Dungeon.

MC got the souls of a hero, no mere NPC can revive him. Only by miracle, like a checkpoint, user.

>slowed movement status
>in a platformer with a lot of jumps you can't make with that status

>enemy has a chance of reflecting any of your attacks

>Stone enemy can be instantly killed by using the item curing Petrify on it

>platformer with slow debuff
>tricky platforming sections become easier

>party member gets charmed
>said party member starts charming your team

>Enemy blatantly trying to waste your antidotes
>Spams nondamaging poison-causing ability while you slowly kill it

speaking of status ailments, i really want to play a jrpg but i'm a cheap fuck so i want to pirate it. what's the best jrpg's for pc? no emus, i've played most

Secret of Mana is a good start to see if you'll be into it at all.

>flesh to stone
>instant game over

>party member gets charmed
>said party member starts using annoying status effects on the team

>Have 100% resistance to status effect.
>Boss has a 'special' status effect that does the exact same thing and you can't resist it.

>attack that leaves the entire team with a status effect

>game has skills that debuff
>boss is resistant or outright immune to debuffs
What's the fucking point then?

>Unmakes past turn actions and kills the afflicted

>Boss wastes turns curing ailments/debuffs that doesn't affect its style of play

>One of them is stone
>It has a higher chance to land on MC

>game ends if protagonist dies
>petrify status can only be cured with items which only the protagonist can use
>if the protagonist is hit with petrify it's an automatic game over because they're effectively dead

>Dekunda
>Dekunda
>Dekunda
>Dekunda

Run away and spam shout

That made Dragon Age Origin trivial with a wizard in your party.

Even if you couldn't shatter it, simply freezing the strongest enemy in a group was enough to simplify the battle a lot.

>boss wastes turn castings buffs with so minor effects it would need 10 turns to make up the damage of missing a single normal attack

>being an idiot kid stuck on the 2nd Totema fight in FFTA because of charm

>projecting

>Enemy can reflect your attack
>So can you
>Every extra reflection doubles in damage

Isn't there some really long Hentai game that does this?
MGQ?
Sakura Dungeon?
both good games

The Ghostbusters game let your AI teammates revive you. They were good at it most of the time. Problem is, sometimes they would drop what they were fighting to save you, get hit in the back, die, then you have to wait for the nearest one to do the same, over and over until the whole team was down. Sometimes its just better to restart instead of waiting it out.

>Google it
>Easy game

Bad game design

>have party member that can place a shield that repels physical attacks
>fight a boss that uses single-target physical attacks 90% of the time
>have a single character taunt and just keep placing shields on them

Shouldn't have went all elephants than you retard. They fucking suck

Lewd

>Enemy pair have Water affinity and Rock affinity
>Rock enemy casts rock armor on his friend.
>Electric attacks aren't effective anymore
>Water enemy casts water armor on his friend
>Water attacks aren't effective anymore
>Rock enemy casts fire armor on you
>Water enemy double damages you
>Water enemy casts freeze armon on you
>Rock enemy double damages you
Damn you Fred Perry! I just wanted to fap to cute muscle spider girls.

What game?

>You get 4 party members after a couple levels
>You can instantly switch between all of them when fighting enemies
>But if one of them is ko'd its game over

Tactics Elemental

>combo in mid air
>enemy who can petrify petrifies you
>fall to the ground
>shatter
That really bugged me on GoW

Spiders and driders are garbage though.

screw you buddy

Spiders have no redeeming sexual qualities.

>limbs can get damaged
>incapable of any form of movement if they're torn off
How can spiders compete with the superior arachnid?

what about now

Much like before they are infinitely inferior to their arachnid brethren, the scorpion.

>boss abuses status effects to get 1hko moves on party
>has a powerful elemental skill as backup
>also has powerful non elemental magic that can't be reflected or resisted that he spams randomly
Is there any way to beat sleeping table pre level 40?

Dude, don't invoke spider vs scorpion posting.

Having higher stamina makes poison do more damage.

It's just objectively true that spiders, driders and any monstergirl with a centaur/drider based body type are garbage

>Dragon's eye

>Everytime one of your party members takes a turn the boss gets a turn
>Summons weaker versions for free every turn it gets
>Can effect multiple party members with paralysis status effects at once
>Teleports away if you don't kill it in a set number of turns and randomly reappers in other areas

>party member gets charmed
>uses a full heal skill on the final boss
