Tried it earlier but it got no where. I think it wasn't late enough. These are usually popular later on in the night. So late night Spyro thread.
I make it a point to play a Spyro or Crash game every few years. Last year I beat Spyro 2 during a blizzard. This year I wanna beat 3 again. Post favorite skyboxes or levels or music.
If Spyro ever does get a remaster, I can tell you now it will never hold a candle to the original trilogy if only because of these skyboxes.
Camden Scott
Which of the trilogy did you like best?
Camden King
I know them like the back of my hands so it's always fun to just run through them every couple of years. Spyro 2 is definitely my favorite of the trilogy and fucking around with the headbutt jump is cool.
Anthony Thompson
Spyro 2 is magical in a way. Considering how short the games are I should really replay them yearly. But for some reason I can't do them in one sitting. After 2 hours in I just feel like changing the game as to not finish it too quickly. I think I wanna do that when classes end. Just finish up 3 and start 2 again. A fun little game to rejuvenate me.
Carson Rogers
I get some raging nostalgia with Spyro 2 & 3 (espicially 2). The flying loading screens where kind of spooky since it gave that desolate feeling. The world with the Warlocks definitely had an eerie feeling. Too bad hardware nowadays is too good to be able to replicate these games.
Jackson Miller
>Too bad hardware nowadays is too good to be able to replicate these games. I never really thought of it like that. I suppose you're right. We could always just hope that indie games start looking like low poly 3d games one day and that from that slew of mostly garbage we'll get some nice gems out of it. I mean Shovel Knight is apparently good right?
>The flying loading screens where kind of spooky since it gave that desolate feeling Now that you mention it I can see it. I never felt that way as a kid. I remember feeling really alone in Spyro 2 though since I played 3 first and started 2 afterwards.
Kevin Campbell

Joseph Moore
The score was also pretty good since the drummer from The Police wrote it.
Lucas Bailey
I love spyro.
Aiden Flores
ive been dying to find a copy of the original soundtracks. I know you can just rip them from the disks but I dont have a disk drive.
Nathan Ramirez
Same here.
I love that interview he has. He played through the level once before he made the theme for it.
You can't get em off the web?
Owen James
...
Noah Young
all the websites ive found with mp3s want you to sign up and give you limited downloads or want you to "donate"
You can tell its copeland from the samples used in the tops, charmed ridge sounds like it could be in the other games(hell its skybox is town square from spyro 1) however the bottom sounds totally different(not bad).
Adam Wright
There's usually a noticeable loss of quality.
Colton Gray
Who else thought that Dragon Shores was a huge disappointment? I expected so much more considering it's hype.
Hudson Bennett
shit quality, im not an audiofile but youtube rips are pretty much as bad as they get
pic pissed me off so much this website has a huge collection but pulls this bull shit
Robert Brooks
Maybe, it sounds similar enough to Copeland. That track just features a lot of unusual samples and flanger. Maybe he was experimenting.
Aiden Howard
...
Leo Ramirez
I know where you can get the whole series in high quality
keep the thread alive while I try to hijack my account to log in
Sebastian Butler
Well that sucks. I hope you find them some day user. Spyro's music is fucking magical.
ok thanks I hope so too, its not just the spyro music im after either, i need the Crash soundtracks and a few others. Im trying to find a good quality rip of the Lego Island soundtrack
Brandon Hall
It took me ages to find Crash's "whoa!" to use as a text tone. You might have better luck once the remake comes out though.
I have always been curious how big of a role Ryan Beveridge played in the Spyro 3's soundtrack.
youtube.com/watch?v=pxal2bK9EHk For example midnight mountain here sounds nothing like Stewart Copeland's style. Any one here have anymore knowledge on this? Did they compose separate tracks or collaborate? Both?
Parker Anderson
damn man you are the fucking BOMB
thank you so fucking much for this bro i love you
Brandon Powell
Oh, hey, props user. Thanks for these. I had been looking for them too for a while, guess my hunt's over.
Isaac Perez
i hope they use the same music in the remakes and dont fuck with it too bad
THANKS MAN I appreciate it. Is that a good forum to get soundtracks from?
Angel Walker
I've only ever gotten those off of that site so I couldn't tell you, but I'm sure if these are the best Spyro rips on the internet then it's bound to have some other gems.
Charles Green
Damn dude, thanks for this. Just finished downloading the first one, these are really high quality. It's amazing how good PS1 music truly could be.
Leo Young
Ryan didn't actually touch any of the tracks, He just supervised over the compositions to make sure they were done in time. you too, read above
thanks for sharing user, i'm noticing these collections have some of the unused music too, awesome
David Howard
thanks for these
John Reed
Interesting. So Copeland really was just getting very experimental. Some of 3's tracks are some of his best work in the series. I don't doubt you, but do you have a source on this info?
Lucas Walker
The skyboxes are wallpaper fuel.
Christian Gonzalez
It was in an interview he did for a small Spyro fansite that is no longer around.
yeah and the forum he linked to has a bunch of soundtracks including lego island. I just need to wait till my email is registered so i can see the links
Isaac Barnes
You're a good person, user
Aaron Roberts
Thanks man, I had to dig around in my e-mail to find the link to that thread because you can't google it and I didn't remember the name of the website.
Luke Powell

Colton Kelly
I try to play crash and spyro every year, fell in love with them as a kid. dream weavers had a lot of my favorite worlds
Tyler Howard
Not him but YotD, also nicest skybox pic there.
Easton Diaz
YotD was crack. Avalar sounded like a mystical place and when I finally played Ripto's Rage, it didn't disappoint.
Aiden Flores
me too user, me too
Connor Reyes
Not to say you can't post this here, but you might want to take a look at /vr/
Sebastian Hernandez
what do I need to do to make darksydephil notice the spyro series and play through it
Joshua Ramirez
What are you, gay?
Blake Thomas
yes.
Henry Morris
I just recently finished Spyro 1 in 2 days with 120% and started Spyro 2.
Stuff I remember fondly. >the level were Spyro gets kissed by fairies and has to fight knights is probably my favorite level >I like how Gnasty was insulted in the first few minutes of the game but in the end spyro says something nice about him, literally: "he was a worthy opponent." >that night level in the first world will always will be one of my favorite levels. It is so small and cozy. >Geenasty Geenorc >flaming and ramming enemies is fun >The interactions between the dragons and spyro are often funny >that last dragon in tree tops was literally impossible to find without a guide >the flying levels ranged from enjoyable to frustrating >fight against gnasty was a little bit underwhelming. >but I love that in the last few levels the gnorcs had fucking machine guns and grenades, despite this being a fantasy game. >sometimes the enemies are even fighting against each other >the character designs of some dragons were really cool >that moment where you see the portrait of gnasty gnorc in gnastys loot will always have a special place in my heart
Kevin Hernandez
donate $2000
Justin James
i'm gonna need source for research purposes
Logan Williams
Did that guy retexturing Enter the Dragonfly ever finish doing it?
Isaac Williams
>Does he still do game ost's? Copeland has been doing orchestra related shit these past few years.
Parker Campbell
devo87. also i'm not trying to hijack the thread since spyro threads on here are some of the best, so i'm gonna post some more cute art
Asher Flores
these days he would do it for way less
Jackson Reed
Then at least post some straight "art" about the fairies, elora, bianca etc... and not only your gay shit.
Matthew Roberts
Spyro is cute! CUTE!
Alexander Martinez
Is this a dark souls refernce?
Restarted and Finished easily 1, while 2 was my favourite in my childhood. These quest-like levels aren't that nice. Kinda boring, but game looks incredibilly good. Except the models. Need to restart this and finally play through the collection.
Elijah Flores
The OSTs made me fall in love with the organ
Lincoln Hill
>phil rage quits spyro because he can't catch the egg thief
"WOOOOOOOOOW THE IMPUT IS SO LAGGY, PLEASE WHO WOULD EVER PLAY SUCH A GAME. WOOOOOW"
Camden Long
I played 1 and 3 as a child, but never 2 for some odd reason; I'll have to get them on Vita when my backlog slows down a bit and play them in bed.
Eli Jones
You totally should, 2 is just as good if not better than 3.
Hunter Allen
...
Parker Ward
I have played through roughly two thirds on emulator, and the seasonal hub levels are especially amazing. Looking back on Spyro, it's level themes and colours are definitely part of why I love nature.
John Lee
here's a collection from some based user filled to the brim with some nice wallpaper stuff
I played the first Spyro when I was 12, I remember loving it. For 13 years I never touched another Spyro game. Would it be a good idea to play the other PS1 Spyro games? or just replay Spyro 1 and stop?
Tyler Lee
You should absolutely play 2 and 3. Best 3D platformers ever made, in my opinion.
Benjamin Adams
Thanks, will give them a shot!
Gavin Miller
Spyro 1 had a nice lonely feeling to it. Characters in 2 and 3 were wacky.
Colton Moore
Moar spyro 1080p backgrounds?
Carter Williams
...
David Carter
In Spyro 1 you saved the past. (Old dragons) In Spyro 2 you saved the present. (Other tribes) In Spyro 3 you saved the future (Dragon eggs)
Landon Scott
This should have gotten an HD remaster instead of Crash
I'm expecting Spyro remasters at E3. I will probably cry if they announce remasters, man.
Grayson Mitchell
I want to live inside those worlds ;_;
Nicholas Morris
Yeah spyro 1 is my favourite because there's a greater sense of exploration whilst going through the levels
Asher Barnes
woah
Grayson Wilson
I wish they would re-release PS1 games on PS4 with up-scaling and trophy support like they have for a few PS2 games.
Joshua Nelson
I'm the same I played 1 and 3 as a very young kid (I'm pretty sure spyro1 was the first game I ever played) But I've never even touched 2, until recently
>that one dragon you can hear but not easily find in Haunted Towers
Dominic Martinez
>wake up, start routine with King of the Hill episode and a black coffee >check morning Sup Forums >uncommon thread for the best fucking series apparently floated from the dregs of night Sup Forums
You're probably asleep OP, but thanks for the read
Jacob Watson
I never liked Spyro 2 cause you could never 100% any level in one go. There would always be some locked ability you needed. Oh well, at least I have 1 and 3
Brody Ward
3 has the same problem at times. Molten Crater and Fireworks Factory, for instance.
Jaxon Harris
I honestly never saw this as a problem. Gave me a reason to go back and play old levels.
