Path of Exile is about to release a new expansion.
Does anyone know if they are finally going to fix trading or are they still in denial about it being broken?

How is trading broken?
>about to
In 2 months at least.
You have to trade manually by whispering someone instead of being able to buy directly from another player's stash, even when they're offline.
They are in absolute denial over trading system. Poe.trade is there to stay.
Also, game is shit.
you excited for the necromancer in d3 ?
Oriath doesn't have any notes about implementing an Auction House system, so obviously they're going to still have all trading done through 3rd party websites.
Is it still the case that you will never, EVER find good gear yourself? It was so fucking lame knowing that every piece of gear I picked up was shit.
this post is made by someone who never even completed normal and propably doesn't understand why increased physical damage on his wand doesnt work for ethereal knives.
Maybe if you got to endgame for once you'd find a nice piece every other day.
>My game is still shit so I have to attack the poster instead of addressing the actual point.
oh so you have to actually interact with a person? makes sense to me. altough trading the other way would be easier but eh too many games are taking social aspect out
thank you blizzdrone
You have to trade consumables instead of Stones of Jordan. 100% broken, do not play
>EVER
You always find at least 1 or 2 pieces by the time you hit maps just because of the sheer number of possibilities. Obviously you won't regularly find a T1 Unique item or a 4+ T1 Mod 6L Rare Chest, but you can find a few pieces that are end-game viable.
Beyond that tho, no, you're stuck with shit drops because they balance drops around trading.
@user Hi, I would like to buy your Item listed for # chaos in League (stash tab "For Sale"; position: left X, top Y)
Wow, so much social interaction.
After playing a free trial of D3 - i dont want to even have that crap on my PC. Not even for all those Enchantress porn.
Your original point is retarded. It's a loot crawler game, amazing bis loot isn't going to drop twice every hour. Loot good enough to be traded drops all the time, someone will buy your shit even if it's cheap shit, and you can amass currency that way. The very best gear is shit you'll run into only once a league at best. Great loot drops every other day easily.
You're just too retarded and probably never even touched endgame to realize that. Which is why someone else told you that you never even finished Normal, it's obvious as fuck.
PoE isn't a game for you. That's fine. Now fuck off.
Making trading easier would literally break the game. Making trade difficult is the only way from making all of the items in the game worthless.
poe.trade is a step in the wrong direction and we're going to shut it down soon.
It is still the case, unless you buy those support packs. Apparently, they boost your RNG quite nicely.
I fucking hate that they didnt improve rate drops on solo self found, it makes no fucking sense and ssf not worth playing at all.
>wanting to turn trading into braindead automation so that the market can get flooded even more and even easier
>for not better reason than BUT SOMETIMES I HAVE TO WAIT FIVE MINUTES BECAUSE THE GUY WITH THE ITEM I WANT IS AFK WAAAAH
I seriously just want all of you newshits to piss off. The auction house was what killed any sense of achievement in D3.
The game is good tho. Both PoE and D3 are.
This. I would actually have returned to the game in that case. I don't want to trade with people.
The current trading system is just an inefficient auction house. Automating it is the better solution.
Nah. Not good.
Diablo 3 has retarded stat system and disgusting number bloat.
PoE has plenty of issues too.
We're not talking about an action house. We just want to be able to buy directly from another player's stash tab at a price set by the player. All we want is to remove having to whisper a player and go to their fucking hide out to manually buy an item from them.
It so fucking annoying having to wade through 7 afk players and 2 players who ignore you because they're in a map to finally buy an item from someone.
It shouldn't take 25 minutes to get a fucking skill gem.
They're right and wrong at the same time. There's no silver bullet for trading in ARPG games, especially not in games where there's a mass amount of players, and even worse, when the game is F2P and can be abused by bots, which will surely always break even and can't be banned fast enough.
Going back to the dark ages of using trade chat or creating threads on the forums and linking your items is fucking terrifying. Going full AH would kill the value on anything that isn't GG-tier.
Keeping it as it is, is a bandaid on top of previous bandaids of a wound that will never heal properly. Game is too big and too free to have an AH, but too clunky and complicated to not have a search mechanism for the items you want. It's fucked, and I'm afraid they'll have to keep it this way, and I'm also pretty sure they realise how flimsy it all is, but their hands are tied.
Any complaint you can make about an AH currently are already present in the .trade system.
It's because "You can opt-out at any time."
And they didn't improve drop rates for it because then it'd be the more popular mode and more people would unironically slog through the suffering that is SSF because they actually have a good chance of being able to make any build work and not only the top two near-100% survival rate meta builds and having to farm for weeks/months if they wanna find the stuff for another build and convert.
There is no social aspect in POE. You ctrl+c ctrl+v in chat and don't even have to say or type anything. Devs are retarded.
Path of Exile has an auction house. It's poe.trade.
>trading
Why is neo-Sup Forums such a casual shithole?
>Dude, just grind for 2 months, what are you a casual?
I suppose I am if wanting to enjoy a game reliably makes me a casual.
>Decide to try PoE
>HC, using my own build, risked a few times
>level 56, around 40 minutes to grind one level
wew, i mean, i like a good challenge sometimes, but fuck this is boring as hell, going to wait for new acts too see if i want to drop the game or not.
>wanting to turn trading into braindead automation so that the market can get flooded even more and even easier
It is as braindead as it gets, i just copy paste a message and the other guy says ok, party, HO, trade and "HF" or "Thanks". It is honestly pretty much a time waster more than anything at this point.
poe.trade is a step further from trade chats since it lists things with a ton of filters but it doesnt promote the social part of trading. The only good thing about poe.trade is that it helps if you want to pay with another currency and the like, a normal market place woulndt work that well on poe since it has a lot of currencies.
Yeah with how it works now it's really not a huge deal. Sure sometimes you whisper 3 afk people in a row but I still enjoy it way more than any other arpg
Yes, playing on easy mode actually does make you casual.
What's the difference between having poe.trade outside of the game and having something similar inside of the game?
Time. That's it. That's the only difference.
It would be so much more convenient to just implement poe.trade INTO the game. Most of the player base is already using it and forcing players to Alt-Tab out of the game to make a trade is nothing more than GGG being stubborn about protecting "muh vision".
>level 56, around 40 minutes to grind one level
Your build is probably shit, user. What skills are you using?
>Beta for of Oriath is getting closer every day
JUST
Wake me up when its fucking /out/
Except you guys need to have even more convenience and have an even lower bar of entry which is not the right direction. Automation is what ruins economies.
>It is as braindead as it gets
Not if you also have to install a third party software, manage your stashes and price everything individually plus actually have to have the other guy online and ready to trade. It is pretty braindead alright but that doesn't mean you make it even more so.
Look into this thread and see what people are advocating for. Instant gratification where everything is at their fingertips with just one click. That shit is not going to work out.
>Automation is what ruins economies.
You're a complete moron.
>you guys
Could you make it less obvious that you're affiliated with GGG while you shill here?
I have the melee str guy, i use Sunder as my main skill, with an aoe melee totem and a fire golem, the rest is for defense.
ok
Will do, friend. See you in 2 weeks, 2 days or so.
Just pointing out that there is no social interaction to be had. I don't care about the trading system desu. I want them to change their arrogant opinion that an ARPG requires trading and that everyone else is playing the game wrong. They have added selffound leagues now but those are literally worthless except for bragging rights. And they did that because they think "Everyone is going to trade eventually so we need to make the characters transferable to a normal league." That is absolutely not what I want from the game. Fuck them. They should boost the droprate so it is actually viable to play selffound.
Trading in Eve Online is super convenient due to the process being heavily automated and yet it magically has a thriving economy.
>inb4 you claim they are different types of economies because you don't understand economics at all.
>make a post
>multiple people reply
>call them "you guys" while replying back
>clearly the sign of a shill
Please seek help.
I thought the beta was delayed again for a month or did i hear that wrong?
Poeple who complain about trading in PoE are braindead retards who would get lost in a supermarket.
It's fine. It's by design. Maybe if you can't figure it out just download D3 again or go play some LoL that sounds more like your level of involvement.
Hell PoE even has its own Chaos based currency system, so drooling retards like OP don't have to break their heads with actually figuring out the value of things.
>Automation is what ruins economies.
citation needed.
You're regurgitating GGG talking points. Developers at your company are the only people on the fucking planet dumb enough to believe that automation harms an economy.
Difference is that having it ingame makes flipping, RMT and scaming harder.
Why do I have to manually trade with other players by whispering them instead of just being able to buy what they are going to sell me anyways directly from theirs stash?
What is it that you believe manually trading does that protects POE's economy?
What is that about the act of being able to buy an item directly from a player's stash instead of waiting for that player to invite me to a party that would harm POE's economy?
It's an unnecessary delay. My time is valuable and GGG seems dead set on making me wait for a party invite to buy stuff.
That's why I don't play anymore.
Your main skill should be at least 4-linked by level 56. Make sure that you're not using duplicate support gems or support gems that don't affect the particular skill you're using.
Get a mobility skill that allows you to travel faster, leap slam would probably make the most sense if you're using a 2-handed maul. But yeah - in all honestly, if it takes you 40 minutes to get 1 level at lvl 56 you've probably royally fucked up somewhere along the line. What's your DPS on Sunder?
>That shit is not going to work out.
Yes, it will.
>Instant gratification where everything is at their fingertips with just one click.
Let's force them to wait. Let's make all of our players sit at their desk in front of their computer and wait for 20 minutes until someone finally sends them a party invite. They'll love it.
Nothing is more fun than just staring at a screen waiting. They'll love it.
Nuh uh
>Why do I have to manually trade with other players by whispering them instead of just being able to buy what they are going to sell me anyways directly from theirs stash?
Because easier doesn't mean better.
As it stands the economy is already flooded at the end of a league. Introduce an AH and it takes the barter part of the game out.
I like it, others do too.
Add in crafting and other listing websites and it's already easy.
>4 links
It is.
I've got around 4k on that skill, don't know what i'm doing wrong, maybe it's because of no mobility, but levelling feels way too long.
>Introduce an AH
IT ALREADY HAS AN AUCTION HOUSE.
holy fuck user you are retarded beyond limits
>Introduce an AH and it takes the barter part of the game out.
>nothing more than GGG being stubborn about protecting "muh vision".
>Let's force them to wait. Let's make all of our players sit at their desk in front of their computer and wait for 20 minutes until someone finally sends them a party invite.
Oh shut the fuck up with your tired 20 minute bullshit that happens just about never. Even on the off-chance that someone's AFK that becomes clear within a minute. Otherwise they write back "I'm in a run" or you check what area the other guy is in.
You have to be literally retarded if it takes you 20 minutes to get an item.
>it takes the barter part of the game out.
muh vision
Switch to earth quake
What are grinding? I mean you should still be pushing to maps, not grinding, unless you are getting nearly killed a lot
Liar. You obviously don't play.
That user is right about it taking ~20 minutes to buy something from poe.trade. It happens to me every time I try to buy something. Literally every person I whisper is either AFK or they don't invite you after you whisper them.
This.
>on the off-chance that someone's AFK
lol. You haven't played your game in a while have you Mr. GGG employee.
The only league I haven't played is the one right now so unless you make a compelling argument on why there should be more AFKers right now than before you are absolutely full of shit.
No, you're full of shit.
You're literally lying to protect your fail game.
>is about to release a new expansion.
It will come out in July, lol..
this
everyone is fucking afk for some reason
trading is a fucking chore in poe
reminds me of people defending runescape trading
>muh player interaction
I'm trying to buy a Unique flask right now. I've been trying to buy a Unique flask from the three people who have the flask I want for over 42 minutes right now.
All three of them are NOT afk. No afk notice appears after I whisper them what was copied to my clipboard from poe.trade. I'm offering them the price they set. I am trying to buy something from them that THEY listed for sale. They are currently playing the game, they are not AFK but they won't send me an invite.
Why? Because they are either mapping or they're in the labyrinth.
>42 minutes
What flask?
This.
Yep.
This is what I typically experience whenever I try to buy something. Not 42 minutes, but around 5-15 minutes. It's so fucking frustrating.
I understand that GGG wants to force us to barter and bartering is at the center of their vision, but come on.
>there is a reason no one barters irl anymore.
>ES is dead
I'm out.
>ES is dead
wait, wut?
lol, so glad I never got into this game.
That's ridiculous.
Didnt you see ALL the nerfs to ES/vaal pact/etc?
its DEAD. I know it was needed, but I really hate life builds
wow user! And when I play D2 during a new season, and use d2jsp for my trades, it takes me a few hours to a day or day to trade my things in a convenient way!
Fucking babies wanting automation.
>to a day or day
>to a day or two*
ES was the most retarded shit imaginable. I'm glad they axed it.
>5 of them are afk
>6 of them are busy
>the last ones is retarded
This whole trading thing is simply a generation vs generation thing. The older players are used to going through loops of actions to do some real, proper trading, either via in-game mechanics or via websites. The newer generation have 0 patience and need their items NOW, but what they dont realize is that... there's nothing to do once your build(s) is(are) finished, the fun IS getting the items and seeing your build progress further and further.

I'm 31 and I FUCKING HATE this retarded system. Please fuck off with your generation bullshit faggotry.
Did you ignore people who tried to buy your stuff?
>giving 2 shits about your character model/voice
What is the best class when you have never played a mmo?

Literally a GGG megaphone.
The only people who think that work at Grinding Gears.
They axed it too late.
But i would rather see life builds being buffed, armor and evasion buffed, than anything nerfed.
and I'm 30 and hate any auction house bullshit.
Its ok in a mmo but not for an arpg.
