Yukiko and Yukiko are worse than anyone in P5 or P3. They stop developing immediately after getting their personas and Yukiko especially is nothing but a SNRK machine for the majority of the game

Why are people saying that Golden is worse than the original? Did I fuck up by buying this version?

Contrarians, while golden has some slightly improved graphics, extensive quality of life improvements, more events, an extra dungeon and 2 more social links, everyone thinks that the inclusion of Marie alone makes it worse.

I originally got a PSTV exclusively to play Persona 4 Golden. I encourage you to do the same. There are plenty of other great Vita games you can play on the PSTV too, if you want more reasons to get it.

People from both sides will always tell you "MARIE" but the real reason why P4G sucked for me is because the gameplay changes completely break the game wide open. You get Risette's fucking retardedly OP powers on top of the new skill inheritance system and weaker enemies in later dungeons. The quality of life improvements doesn't justify raping the actual gameplay aspect of the game.

It wasn't as neat to me because having a trumpeter with Megilodaeon + spell master pretty much helped rape everything on that dungeon.

it was the shittiest one by far, why even bother doing it if you're getting the same exp and money from the last dungeon and you're gonna lose all your treasure later? I literally skipped every fight possible and rushed to the end because of how shit it was. I liked the song though

Depends on what level of weeb bullshit we're talking here though. I thought P5 had better s.links overall although moreso with the NPC ones than the in-party ones (Tora's one alone was better than all the one's in P4). P4 in general has better "general hangout" type options though.

Marie wasn't even that bad in the game I thought. It was in the anime where she was obnoxiously shoehorned into every key scene.

P4's entire plot is dirt simple enough to be described in complete detail in 3 minutes and it still had massive problems, particularly with how the game deliberately withheld literally every single suspicious thing that Adachi had ever done just so it could have the team recall it all suddenly at the last minute after you've made your pick from a list. Pretty much 0 effort went into anything other than the wacky anime sequences and it shows in both the original game and in Golden.
P3 is the slowest burn imaginable and only the very end is actually really good. Further, Ikutsuki is barely on par with some of P5's shittier Mementos targets, and the entire first half of the game revolves around his bullshit. The payoff is not at all worth what you have to sit through to get there.
P5 has Kaneshiro's dungeon as its single low point. Even Okumura's arc gave us more insight into the villain, and of course had a major impact on the rest of the game. The story didn't kick in in the last 10 minutes, nor did it handle hiding shit from the player in a stupid way.

Genuine question. Which version of P4 should I get?
I just beat P3 FES recently for the first time and had fantastic time playing through it. And now am trying to do a 100% S.Link run for Telos, but am already half way through the game again and I want more of this.

No, but you can get a PSTV. P4G is the better version, though I suggest you avoid Marie for gour first playtrough.
