I recently played "Thimbleweed Park" Beautiful story, crazy ending (LukasArts style), tons of humor. Even made a video playing it, if you not familiar with a game.
There's a fanmade sequel to Zak McKracken, though I can't speak for the quality because I've only played about an hour. mckracken.net/
Thimbleweed had good puzzles, but the ending was telegraphed from miles away, I hated how easy it was to predict. Kinda pissed me off.
Ian Perez
Actually, thanks to booming Android market, lots of good looking adventure point and click games coming out.
Makes me Happy
Lincoln Price
Deponia trilogy (fuck the ending though)
Xavier Lewis
Hate when a great game is ruined by shitty ending.
I don't understand why that's happens. Developers clearly know what they are doing.
Creating such a good story, atmosphere, unique characters... And then screwing everything up with a rushed ending.
Connor Morgan
Eh, shit happens. Up to the very end it's awesome and definitely worth playing if you're into PnC.
Ryan Rivera
Paradigm.
Jonathan Gray
i finished this a few months back, not a bad game at all
Connor Bell
Pixels can be very comfy. Can't believe this retro graphics can be so cozy.
Works best with noir
Asher Johnson
>tfw Discworld Noir will never ever be rereleased
Josiah Jenkins
name?
Kevin Barnes
Very beautiful and powerful android game... Gemini Rue.
Jacob Campbell
Machinarium.
Not retro looking, but very unique surreal style. Very moody game.
Robert Miller
Screen from Machinarium.
Its also another example of mobile gaming. I believe its on Android and iOS
Nicholas Harris
What about Tex Murphy - Tesla Effect?
Zachary Parker
Time Gentleman Please! and Ben There, Dan That.
John Adams
What about Doomsday?
Samuel Moore
It's a massive troll that gives you false hope that you can change Goodbye Deponia's terrible ending. Don't spend any money on that shit, it adds nothing to the story.
Nathaniel Rodriguez
Great puzzle design, one of the best of it's genre indeed. The humor was ok until the shit ending, generic and boring.
Luke Parker
everything made by and published by Wadjet Eye games
Elijah Jones
Now you made me curious to see how bad it is
Oliver Gomez
>What about Tex Murphy - Tesla Effect?
I love Tex Murphy! Not only Tesla Effect, but all of them.
Great game. I do hope for another one.
Jason Morris
Its not pixelated but I liked the Deponia series
Luke Cooper
I thought it was fun
Christian Diaz
Good taste
Chase Nelson
...
Austin Davis
Okay my dude, literally everything made by Wadjet Eye games, possibly excluding shardlight, since it's not that great. Deponia series, all of the games have that wacky monkey island feel to them Book of unwritten tales is good for some, I am not a fan of the series Heroine's quest is fucking great Kathy Rain is good as fuck too Stay away from broken age and pretty much any other 3.3 million dollar man type projects
Ian Gomez
Primordia and Technobabylon
Primordia is good but a bit short in the end, Technobabylon is fantastic. And may or may not be getting a sequel.
William Rivera
Not bad but I wouldn't particularly call it good, either. Competent, I guess? Mediocre, definitely.
Mason Young
>Its not pixelated but I liked the Deponia series
It doesn't even have to be pixelated. Just cozy, unique, and atmospheric style.
I remember playing "Lula: The Sexy Empire", i think it used to be on DOS...
Even though it had a sex theme, it was very interesting adventure (empire builder actually, but point and click)
Carter Nguyen
Wet was a economics sim - and not even a bad one for being a porn game...
In the library there's a book called "The True Secret of Monkey Island".
In my opinion Thimbleweed Park went WAY overboard on meta jokes. Having a character be an adventure game designer added very little to the game, but resulted in so many forced jokes about old games. One or two tongue-in-cheek jokes would be fine, but they hit a point where they were just masturbating.
Ryan Scott
There's an option to disable most of them now. But the requirements for removal didn't make much sense, so you get subtle references removed and blatant ones left in. Probably some sort of jab at complainers.
Lucas Nelson
Are Samorost games good?

I guess i was looking at the game through nostalgic point of view, so jokes about old games worked out for me.
But who is playing something like this for the first time, might not get it.
Also, i have to mention one more adventure game, add it to the list.
Botanicula. Characters are undescribable, ether can describe the lcations... There is no text or recognizable language... But, its an epic story about brave heroes with a very satisfying and big ending.
Bentley Johnson
this 100% It's almost as if they couldn't build up a game of their own - they had to use references to have at least some sort of skeleton
Isaac Williams
>an option to disable most of them For what purpose? Seems like a pretty stupid thing to do, even if the jokes did annoy people
Parker Howard
I mostly care about noir story-telling. Not so much about the style of the game.
Seen great 3d and 2d examples. Noir is what gets me.
Benjamin Jenkins
Don't forget about Larry's adventures! First one was recently remade as well.
Screen is from another one though. Larry love for sail.
Cameron Long
Video games are dead
Julian Ramirez
I lost my cybersniff 2000....
Andrew Bennett
>remake the 1st game three times.
Cmon Al I'm glad you got money but shit remake something else.
Jordan Rogers

Justin Price

Colton Jones
Thimbleweed Park is awesome.
I just finished The Sexy Brutale which was pretty good.
Joshua Edwards
Syberia series is awesome adventure. Very beautiful world.
Not very retro, not very new, but a new one is coming out thanks to kickstarter
Adrian Barnes
Jesus Christ, YOU GUY FORGET ABOUT HIM?!
Nathaniel Butler
Syberia 3 was already released, but it wasn't kickstarted it's trash
Andrew Wilson

Caleb Mitchell

Thomas Williams
Fran Bow. It's way too easy but I liked the gloomy atmosphere.
