the anonymous nature of Sup Forums itself is to blame. there are no consequences for shitposting, and people are rewarded for doing so with (You)s and entertainment.

so the people who actually want to discuss things seriously do that elsewhere where there's an environment more conducive to that sort of thing.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing, it just is what it is. so you either appreciate Sup Forums for what it is (as I do), or you move on.

I just browse here for the occasional dragons dogma thread and to shitpost melee webms to make street fighter faggots sperg out. When new games come out or when anybody has any excitement for anything this board is completely unbearable and there isn't a single thing worth reading.

Anonymity plus tons of posters encourage that kind of behavior. But sometimes stars align just right and there is one or two interesting thread without lazy shitposters.
