The old English dub basically changed a shit ton of things. Removed all the romantic elements, removed the violence, skipped a bunch of episodes, tried to make Lee the main character.

The subbed Japanese version was one of the first subbed anime I watched, thanks to a friend that bought it for her older sister for her birthday.
