considering that it probably won´t ever be released, not really
>mfw a new Tomb raider game with real Lara
>Real TR platforming
I've been wanting a new TR game for a long damn time, this makes me happy
No, fuck off.
You hear that sound? It's SE lawyers scrambling to send those cease and desist letters.
Someone's a bit moody :3
...
Not even a little bit. I don't see the point in making a fan sequel to Anniversary, rather than make an actual remake of 2. The level editors for the later TR games could be used to create a much truer game than this will ever be.
Squenix isn't gonna let this one slide
i hope this gets c/d'ed
when will they learn
Salty much? Can't handle someone pointing out that early Tom Raider combat was dated even when it first came out? What if I added that even back then the movement controls were fucking atrocious?
user is very sensitive about tomb raider controls user. pls dont provoke him
He won't be selling it.
and? you don't remember the shitstorm with that pokemon fan game? or metroid 2 remake? or chrono tigger remake? or houndred other free fan projects?
So you want a remake of Tomb Raider 2 but with the same engine and graphics as Tomb Raider 2?
You know that already exists right? It's called Tomb Raider 2.
Where were the makers of those located?
Cool.
Does SE cap down on fanmakes? I think they're iffy territory, like Capcom.
Nintendo and Konami are the only ones that take that stupid stance fullon.
The movement controls were great, you're just literally retarded.
And the gameplay of this remake is obviously based on Anniversary.
nah. tomb raiders grid-based tank controls were fucking terrible. if only the game had come out a little later, they could have ripped off mario 64's revolutionary 3d control scheme
No, the controls were elegant and precise.
He will finish it when my hair would be all gray.
>And the gameplay of this remake is obviously based on Anniversary
Good.
The movement is part of what makes the original tombraiders amazing. Go play some TRLE levels that focus on timed levers, they pull out all the strong points of the original games.
Platforming, exploration, and puzzle like areas are what make the original games so good. Something that the Xbox era and nutombraider couldn't get right
I would honestly beat people up in real life if they ever came out liking TRAvesty.
Nothing wrong with a modernized input scheme though.
Anniversary is the best game in the series you fedora.
It's precise to a fault though. there is no room for error of any kind. it's way too strict.
Soon...
Eidos Montreal/Crystal Dynamics are pretty good on leaving fan work/mods be.
All he has to do is NOT release it around the time of Shadow of the Tomb Raider
There's plenty of room. Jump and you land on the exact same spot in the next square. Do a running jump and it automatically jumps when you reach the end of the square, regardless of when you pressed the jump button.
Let's see... no platforming, one button to do everything, checkpoints, guided environments...
Yeah, it will be shit like Anniversary and every Tomb Raider that came after Chronicles.
>le Anniversary is bad maymay
...
Wew, lad.
Does Tomb Raider 2 get any good?
Tried playing for a bit but the controls and camera angle is beyond awful, not sure if it's worth the hassle.
It depends what are you playing for.
Combat? Not worth it.
Exploring/platforming? Yes.
Lady Croft herself? Absolutely.
My favorite TR by far
>playing in Venice for the first time
>getting to the snow and use the snowmobile
>having to replay the entire level after jumping from the waterfall because I used one (1) more lightstick than neccesary, rendering the puzzle with the submerged levers impossible
unironical 10/10
maybe you're right user. the controls are completely flawless, and are totally not obsolete and never used any more because it's cumbersome and slow as fuck.
Why are you intentionally misunderstanding him and avoiding discussion? Why does someone with a different viewpoint and reasons for that viewpoint chase you away from proper discourse?
What level exactly?
because im entertained by how triggered he gets about this
How long until Square Enix Takes it down?
>the controls were good
>lol triggered xDD
why do people do this
It's the Temple of Xian if i recall correctly. I remember the level began with lara slinding and jumping from the biggest waterfall in the game
Also, there was a spider cave that gave me the spookies back then
did games really suck that much back then or was it jsut tomb raider?
There's weak points to every game. Combat was never great for TR and that webm emphasizes by using basic pistols for end game enemies.
tomb raider was always bad desu, and no not all games were bad
compare the movement to mario64 that was released in the same year
tomb raider would have been seen as the most incredible game ever at the time if Mario 64 didn't come out and shit all over it.
Not him, but I think I can explain.
Controls maybe were good for platforming, but not for combat. And combat became important part of the series right in tr2, not CD games as corefags claim.
It was abandoned for a reason.
I wasn't defending the controls, I was more commenting on the fact that the guy was pretty calmly defending the controls and the other guy is like "lol it's funny how triggered he is", even though he wasn't.
Afaik, as long as he doesn't make money, they already have.
>even though he wasn't
we've been having the exact same argument, almost verbatim, for the last 2-3 TR threads now.
Don't know if it was the same guy or not, but beating someone because he likes some game is the definition of being triggered.
Ah, I remember, pool with a strong current. But it wasn't that dark, I think you could do it even without flares, if I understood your problem correctly.
They will be history probably when he'll finish it.
TR2 is one of the first games I've ever played as it was one of the demos included in the sampler CD of my ps1...
I cannot put into words the amount of feels this video gave me, ty op.
answer is yes, to this day i have no idea why people liked clunky crpgs with awful combat also if i'd want to read a book i'd read a book
Anyone got that webm of the Venice level with combat that showcases how cool the controls are?
NOICE
Makes sense though, I mean how is this any different from mods like Skyblivion or A Tale of Two Wastelands.
