Why does everbody hate Conflux ?
Why does everbody hate Conflux ?
Four units immune to armageddon
University with 4 spell schools
And are we talking SoD or modded? SoD tier 7 spawn rate of 4 is retarded
It's too OP.
Most people don't hate the town itself, they just hate how OP it is
-it has the best t1 unit
-t2 and t3 are shooters and have stats comparable to 1 tier higher
-t6 is a slightly worse hydra with magic inmunity
-t7 is the fastest and while it might not be the strongest it more than compensates with double the growth
-you get the magic university with all 4 magic skills (this is probably the most op thing on it)
-the best grail structure in the game
-overall good heroes that get 1 more primary skill
-good heroes specials
-not too expensive
-it also has 2 flyers and magic merchants
all this is just too much for a single town
3 flyers counting phoenixes
It replaced Forge and is OP
good thing that it did, forge was retarded and it looked completely out of place with the rest of the game
It probably would've looked much better if it was given the same refinement the rest of the towns had.
This. They were exploring a steampunk look for Forge as well and removing it just fucked up the story.
it still wouldn't fit with the setting, don't get me wrong, i don't personally hate Forge, but cyborgs don't really mix with a high fantasy medieval setting no matter how well they are done.
best t1? they drop like flies if they get hit; they have zero defense
Going with a more steampunk look could have worked but looking at the development of Forge it doesn't seem that they wanted to go that way
God I fucking hate that opinion.
then don,t get hit?
You got the absolute fastest unit in the game and 100% assured air/earth/fire magic. If you can't win with that you got no hope.
fastest, they fly and have no retaliation
they are the best t1 by far and are completely broken for creeping (as long as you know what you are doing)
>wouldn't fit with the setting
??
It's been part of the setting since before HoMM.
>but cyborgs don't really mix with a high fantasy medieval setting no matter how well they are done.
Yet alien devil space invaders somehow do?
Because it's an instant pleb detector.
HoMM babbies quit MM6 when the StarTrekGate dungeon was too hard
Because they aren't Necropolis.
MM7 and 8 were easier though
The M&M RPGs used to have sci-fi elements but the Forge felt really out of place. They didn't introduce it organically, you just had this fantasy world and then suddenly space-age technology out of nowhere.
Also I completely forgot: Was the high-tech stuff in the M&M games alien or did it come from some sort of ancient civilization?
>they look like demons so it's okay
>make demons
>call them space alien invaders
>but guy's they are totally not demons
The design fits the setting, that they decided to go full retarded with the lore is a different story
Ancient alien civilization. Basically everything magical aside from the elemental magics are ancient technology and in the early games you had to use magical gems to cast a lot of spells. From what I've read the Forge town was going to be a big bad destroying everything wherever it goes and they were going to change other stuff like making dungeon neutral alignment.
Imo there's no way to balance resurecting enemy troops in your army.
>It is i only played HoMM and what is this episode
Another rerun i see.
Is just the usual 90's kid attitude "I only know a small bit of the franchise, so guess I'm the most appropriate guy to judge it".
...
Quick, post your best city!
As opposed to the 2000s kid attitude where if I haven't heard of it, it doesn't exist? I think I prefer the former.
>Make a decent regular fantasy setting, then go full retarded with space alien demons and ancient super technological aliens
>expect anybody not to consider it retarded
i played all might and magics and the story is still retarded, i much prefer the regular setting Homm had even if its cliche and has been done thousands of times
Well, I don't really have contact with people that young to know their behavior. I'll assume they are retarded and only care about the social media told them is the new fad. Still, being proud of being wrong instead of researching a little (like a quick google search) is disgusting.
That fantasy setting was full retarded before you were even born.
Agreed. Especially Terra and Xeen had a lot of crazy designs, but even those could have been added to HoMM without looking too out of place.
But the Forge designs were fucking WH40K rejects, not MM's science fantasy.
It wasn't, but even if it were that doesn't in any way change how bad it was
you are just upset because somebody wrote something negative about your favorite game
I'm not upset at all. I just think it's funny that someone goes to such great lengths to stay ignorant on a series and form their own head canon separating the two franchises.
...
Don't you have a spinner to spin?
my nigger
I love it. Conflux's background is beautiful, its theme is pleasant and I liked its involvement in Heroes Chronicles Masters of the Elements.
I am glad we got it instead of Forge since I'm more fond of regular fantasy than science fantasy.
I think it's interesting they ended up linking the elemental stuff to science fantasy eventually anyways with MM8. Conflux is still cancer though because its OP.
i know both series, realize since the first time i played M&M that the whole ancient super advanced civilization plot twist was retarded, somehow you now think i'm making my own headcanon
you are delusional, we both played the exact same game and you somehow conclude that somebody knows less of it than you only because he disagrees on how the lore was handled
this clearly hurts your rear, you should start worrying
>Take fairies and phoenixes away from Sorceress because we EDGY and WEEB now
>put them in the game anyway as fillers for Conflux
>They end up both being OP
I can't even
