You've never become emotional over any sort of media?
There are two types of crying over art. The first is crying while watching "sad" melodrama. Boo-hoo, a fictional entity is ded. People are free to be overemotional pussies, but it's completely detached from the second kind: tearing up from the beauty of it. Some rare parts of Beethoven's music can make you tear right the fuck up, and it never are the "tragic" ones.
Truth be told, I haven't teared up from a video game, because I have a controller in my hands and can't just sit back (obviously I don't suppose I'm going to cry over some noninteractive cg cartoon garbage or laughable dialogue; it's gotta be gameplay).
The Mother series tagline is 'no crying until the ending'.
So you tell me.
>not crying over Dragon Quest
faggot
Compared t aesthetics, gameplay in Mother games makes me cry right off the bat. It's just fucking sad.

What do you think
bro dragon quest is like LOTR to japs everyone calls out on release date
why is tsubomi crying about dra que
uggghh you are probably so insufferable to be around i honestly hope you are about 13 years old
I'm 32, fancy that. My students love to hate me.
ive cried over the Okami ending due to the music and the beauty of the end was like the culmination of game. I also teared up like a bitch at the end of the first season of the walking dead but i liked that because you got to choose the circumstances of your demise in the final scene
in terms of journey DQ has always been the best jrpg, and at this point it has been almost two generations since it started so its understandable that the love for it would be deeply rooted in japan

I'm just providing a fucking example, you know. I haven't cried at a game and I sure as fuck don't cry over Game of Thrones, so what kind of example do you want me to provide? Do you want me to teleport behind your back or something, you meme-posting shit?
It's kind of pathetic, but the only time I ever actually teared up a little over a game wasn't during any crazy story beat or emotional character death.
It was upon hearing this: youtube.com
The Ni No Kuni world map theme. It's not even that good a game, but the music reminded me of playing Dragon Quest 8 every afternoon after school, and with that an overwhelming sense of nostalgia, of youth that I can't get back. Better days where things were easy and simple.
I'm a fair bit older now, but I really believe that music is the greatest kind of media for inflicting emotion - you can instill such a powerful emotion in a person just from hearing a few beats of an amazing piece of music. There's a simplicity in this song, a sweeping, hopeful theme that really inspires you to go on a grand adventure on your own, growing up along the way.
*teleports behind you
It's only the best RPG franchise ever.
Cried like a bitch during Automata's E ending and not ashamed of it at all.
Probably the only case video game actually moved me so much, not even, i dunno, Silent Hill 2 or To the Moon managed to do this.
its ok Lee in season 1 was GOAT fucks up and becomes subhuman trash after killing someone in normal society but when everything goes to shit redeems himself by showing his true colors and taking care of clem.
Pretty good commercial. It's simple, and didn't even have to be translated to understand what's going on.
too bad none of the other seasons even come close even though clems become more adorable
