what is the appeal of Monster Hunter games
What is the appeal of Monster Hunter games
Satisfying learning curve, fun combat, rewarding loot system (while is mostly bs rng)
time to get a switch
>jumpy shit
nah
Was that last monster the man-made god from the concept art?
lots of boss fights and combat with depth
>tfw just got my switch
>Lao Sung Lung
Was he in the first MH X?
>Still looks like a DS game
fuck capcom, seriously
Was that some sort of adapter that allows you to move 3DS save data to the Switch? Because otherwise, I don't see a reason to buy the Switch version just to do all those mushroom missions again.
No.
Not even close.
What it is has been common knowledge for a few months now.
No, thankfully. No idea who thought it was a good idea to bring that turd back.
>tfw no mhxx on vita
>tfw no pc release
>will never be able to use my favorite DS4 controller to play MH
It's okay. You guys are getting more Digimon.
Can I set the japanese version to english or do we have to wait an eternity again?
Oh wow i didn't know it could run PS2 games.
Did you get any MH on Vita at all?
>Citra is in development
>MHXX is a 3ds game
>PS4 controller can be used for PC with the right program
Come on user think.
The absolute best MH games are already on PC dumbass.
Freedom Unite 2 and Portable 3rd HD emulate perfectly and look better than any "console" MH to date.
Oddly addictive exploration and player development. I remember vaguely hating it for the first 30 hours then it kinda clicks and it becomes super satisfying.
>240p textures upscaled to 1080p
So this... is the power... of the Nintendo Switch... Woah
>reused assets
>low res textures
>blocky low poly meshes
>no shaders
Man, this is so disappointing. I'm not expecting MHO-tier graphics but I thought it would at least look as good as Toukiden Kiwami or something. As much as I love MH3U and MH4U, I'm gonna skip this fucking lazy cashgrab of a port.
>muh texture
>muh poly
>"My game is good because it has more pixells in the RAM"
Sup Forums makes me miss neo/v/. You underaged shitter literally never played games, it's all about pretense and saying words your drop out ass believe to be "savant"
You didn't really think that capcom would make a new MH game from scrath nif the y could possibly avoid it, did you? It's pretty much a guaranteed success, so it's not as if they need to put any effort into it.
I'm disappointed too user ;_;
Um.. The textures weren't drawn at 240p, sweetie. Educate yourself, hun.
Challenging and fun combat, boss fights, lots of different weapons and armors, group hunts.
144p then? Wow
it's a straight port from the 3DS game with upscale resolution. what did you expect from The Nintendo Port.
We will have to wait until 5 to see if Crapcom utilizes HD textures and models. hopefully MH5 it built from the ground up on the switch.
Grow up, son
>2017
>$300 console
>$60 AA vidya
>PS2-tier graphics
>B-but muh gameplay
Tell me, how is this acceptable, fucktard? Maybe it's time for you to stop guzzling Ninty's dong and stop Capcom from assfucking you.
Its a port moron.
mhfu
It's disappointing, but at this point I just want to play on a proper screen with a proper controller.
YEEEEEES
I am so sick of being confined to the 3DS screen and controls at this point, just being able to use a proper controller is the only motivation I need.
That shit's getting ridiculous at this point, but I've long given up hope on them ever actually making a proper console entry.
>What it is has been common knowledge for a few months now.
I've missed on it and in fact, i was 100% sure it's frontier or online. I can't really believe it.
Is that retarded shit in the actual MH?
wow
Easy to understand progression, lots of cool and varied monster designs, rewarding loot system, skill based surprisingly deep gameplay which rewards calm and focused decision making, lots of different ways to play the game, can play with friends, etc.
I actually feel like I'm hunting these monsters, it feels really satisfying to kill the same monster a bunch of times and end up with armour/weapons/skills which showcase that feat.
>Was that some sort of adapter that allows you to move 3DS save data to the Switch?
It definitely looked like save transfer, but I'm assuming it's just done on your local wifi. I'm about 90% sure the Wii U game allowed you to do the same shit.
>fun combat
What I've seen of the game it's all about buttonmashing at a big target who doesn't even react to getting hit and then getting out of the way when they telegraph an attack and then resuming mashing.
Granted I haven't really looked into the games in a few years, did it get better?
>PS2-tier
I swear you guys don't remember what PS2 looked like, I hear this so often for every game that isn't technically stunning.
>What I've seen of the game it's all about buttonmashing at a big target
Game is the complete opposite of that, and the biggest complaint about the game you'll find from beginners is how long it takes to execute actions. When you press a button or perform an attack, you're committing a number of seconds to that action which you can't cancel out of usually.
I can see why you'd get that impression from dual sword gameplay (although that's still not button spammy), but go look up something like greatsword or hammer gameplay.
>who doesn't even react to getting hit
All the monsters react satisfyingly to getting hit from big attacks. They're big ass monsters so they're not gonna care about scratches, but if you charge up an attack with a big weapon and land it on their head, they're gonna get knocked down hard.
>Granted I haven't really looked into the games in a few years, did it get better?
Doesn't look like you got the gist of MH at all.
Very satisfying gameplay, animations, great "boss" fights against a big variety of monsters, difficulty, sense of achievement
I'll wait for the 3DS version, this aint gonna make me buy a switch
Thought the same but it's more like dark souls just turned up to eleven. Depending on weapons your animations take a really long time so you are really commited to your attack and hyper/G rank monsters(end game) one or two shot you depending on your armor and buffs.
I'd say one of the biggest issues is the dumb gathering quests and point collecting. No one ever wants to do those in group and they're boring as fuck
>tfw can finally get into the series without getting hand cramps after 10 minutes
The 3DS version is already out. You don't think it's going to get localized, do you?
Waifus
Monster hunter is once again on weak hardware...
It should have been on the ps4, the strongest and best selling console this gen
Cross save is confirmed
>MH5 it built from the ground up on the switch.
Wrong, MH5 will be a ps4 exclusive
Sony always win
MHO installed SO MUCH FUCKING MALWARE into my computer im still finding empty folders of shit in the dark corners of my filesystem a year after i've cleaned my computer and even fully formatted my OS hard drive.
jesus christ how do the chinese deal with this
Why did Capcom jump ship? I thought P3rd sold well.
You start off completely scared of everything being able to kill you and complaining about the locked animations being too slow. Then you get better and better: not so much your character or gear, but you, the player.
You will kill gods and make hats out of their skin.
By unchecking the boxes that ask if you want them installed when they install the game
>NINTENDO WON
>With an upscaled 3DS port!
Amaizing that is all it takes isn't it? It's almost as if the competition isn't trying
Sony had a meeting with them about online servers for the games. It didn't go well.
I'm going to miss my quick sir slots.
It's not like MH5 isn't coming to PS4
Can you back up this outrageous statement?
Sony wanted to force achievements and screwed them regarding an ad-hoc protocol issue that would require a lot of work because there was no Western equivalent.
Basically, Sony forced their hand. You don't tell the devs that literally made PSP hardware sales happen what to do. 3DS has currently 66 million units out, and an insane attachment rate. Going back to Sony is probably not happening in the near future.
>2001 graphics
>asset reuse dating as far back as the first MH
>720p
THATS IT
NINTENDO WON
I don't remember the post number
>Sony wanted to force achievements
In a series that has had achievements since, if I remember correctly, Freedom 2?
???????
The models have been updated since tri
The graphics look around the same level as 3 Ultimate on Wii U.
Hopefully this means that they can get it to 60fps.
the game wont run if you dont have tencent's video player installed, which in turn automatically downloads apps to your computer and automatically sets itself to run when opening everything up to fucking jpeg images
Won what exactly? The who can rehash their IP's the most award?
>their IP's
oh my child
Not sure how I have it running then.
Why would anybody want a Monster Hunter without the bottom screen and with paid online?
so it's actually comfortable to play, mainly.
that and i want a larger screen since my eyesight is shit.
...
Why does the interface always look like something from the 8 bit era.
It's simplistic and doesn't distract you
also the 3ds has only 320x240 pixels
Where is the map??
portable 3rd on the ps3 had the same problem, capcom is just fucking lazy it takes way more screen space than it should
The power of the switch
No. Don't bring in console wars bullshit on this one. It takes away from the fact that they are the laziest shit in the world who are literally still reusing textures from a ps2 game.
It's literally the same but brighter and 16:9
3ds screen is 16:9 I believe.
X was shit. I don't care anymore
Well their first console was a 360 so it's not their fault for not remembering ps2 graphics
well you s0nyggers were begging for it to come back for years
>We live in a world where people think nintendo winning anything is good.
>it's a capcom releases a monster hunter game with 15 year old assets episode
>400x240
Eh, 15:9
you forgot to mention that this "another Monster Hunter with the same monsters as before"[tm] is not an exclusive, but is primarily on 3DS. Scratch simply gets a horrible upscaled shit port.
with worse controls, thanks to Nintendo fucking over the second screen.
