I've never seen a JRPG fanbase as pretentious and up their own as Trials fags they'll insult every other series as being generic or cliche when there's is the most generic and cliche of all, in fact there game ends with a school festival and a fight against a dark evil but they still have the nerve to act like they're better than everyone else just because of their poorly paced garbage..

i enjoyed the game, mostly for the music but i definitely agree that the whole "it has great world building and writing!" is fucking meme shill-tier bullshit all the npcs just talk about worthless daily life/random nonsense, the protanist dresses like a girl, there is an arc where you have to be in highschool and it has the shittiest romance i've ever read. the playable characters are also kind of hit or miss, but they aren't bad atleast. Except for the whole "but it's incest! but it technically isn't!" shit all the time.

Trails is really bad, honestly only a small step above obvious trash like neptune. I played the first one and the game is 1000000% linear, generic combat. I bought SC hoping they would start explaining in 2 but nope. Lots of words with no actual plot.

I'm not about to say that it's a masterpiece but the Kiseki series has been one of my favorite games of all time. It's got great pacing for someone with a lot of patience and a desire to just sloooowww dooowwwn and take it easy.
Really the only complaints against the games that I think are valid, assuming you're the right audience, are that the battle system is not that good and that the graphics aren't very good.
Even so, art style is more than graphics.
