no it wasn't fag
What score did you get? I got 96 top of my lobby but people are getting better
>when you finally learn how curve your megaton fists into their dicks
holy shit these things are satisfying to land
>the game rewards you with super meter if you endlessly flail your arms like a retard from far away
Who thought this was a good idea?
My best one was close to 80, but I disconnected once and lost a few times due to wagglan in the beginning. No way can people play wagglan only and win.
I disconnected a couple of times but I got to over 20 twice. So I'd say I did alright.
Liking Master Mummy, but Spring Man is great too. Has a completely different feel. Master Mummy feels like a heavy hitter done right.
It ought to be punches landed, not thrown. I guess throwing punches does make you vulnerable, but on the large maps you can just do it from a distance.
It rewards you for your opponent being a retard and allowing you to do so.
Why do people like this shitfest? Sort of game Nintendo is pushing for no reason and would be a forgettable 10 dollar eShop game otherwise.
People who flail about at random and earn super will be fucked when they actually get their super since they are so punishable.
doesn't amount to much with the netcode. all my megaton arms whiff and i can only reliably do anything with retorcher
>1vs1vs1
>that guy who was helping you tag team the other guy supers you at the last moment and knock you out first
more like top 10 anime betrayals mode
How the fuck are you supposed to play against the shield punch, I demand tips.
Shit is unbreakable and follow you until it hits you
The skill level was generally much higher this time.
Still managed to scrape the most points with my girl.
Have one arm that can swing around the side, like Ribbon's slapper.
>giving a shit about points
anything to make you feel good huh
>last game is against some japanese dude with 80 points
>getting rekt hard
>down to only a sliver of health while he has 2 bars left
>throw desperation punch
>it hits him so hard it disconnects him and I get the win
>disconnect 2 seconds later because servers are down
I'll take it
YOu punch around it
see you lads next week
Have you played it? No? Then try to play it and then provide an opinion why it's not for you.
For me it started as a Wii Boxing, but once I got the hang of it, understood how to dash after blocking, when to curve my punches, what effects to use and whatever - I saw some depth. Even better when yopu'll be playing best of 2, so you'll be changing your ARMS every round, playing mind games with your opponent.
Though 2v2 and 1v1v1 is kinda shit.
how does one handle spring girl's constant jumping?
>disconnect
>enter a new room
>matched with the 70 point guy and PERFECT him
Felt so good.
I just got 98 with ribbon girl main
Meter of of whiff attacks inst exactly a new concept. Aimlessly punching will leave you vulnerable as crap in most situations, and if you're doing it from a distance your basically just running out the clock, which if you got a life lead is a strat in it's own right.
With good a good teammate 2v2 is much more fun, FFAs are garbage though.
Nah, he lost his connection to the server just like you. You just got removed too late. I just got kicked seconds ago but not before my opponent
87
Was kinda shit, some asshole named mike in all lowecase was the lead with 96. Sorry my springgabuds couldn't get top score with the boy.
I wasn't entirely sure first. But ARMS is AMAZING!
I love the game now. It just kept getting better and better with each new session.
I fucking hate 1v1v1
>connect
>get matched with a player with 30 points and one with 16
>most logical thing to do is to gang up on the 30 point player
>they both gang up on me
I don't get it
>last match
>DOUBLE KO
not even mad
>mix up testpunch times
>get in with three minutes remaining
>play my first match against cpu helix as mechanica
>get disconnected
W-well at least I got to try it out. Game seems cool.
What the fuck is going on with the rumble while guarding hits? I thought the joycon was making noises until I remember it doesn't have speakers.
Manged to play all the classes this time around. Ribbon, Ninjara, and mummy dude are my favorite so far.
when were you when you realized controller beats motion?
>Get top score in my lobby by destroying grab spamming Min Mins with based Mechanica.
Dodging and punishing shitty punches is surprisingly delicious. It helps that half the fags I fought against panicked when I came in to stun them after blocking whatever they threw at me.
I played it. It's shit. You're shot for liking it.
>tag team a guy in 1v1v1
>guy supers the dude we are teaming against
>wait til his super is almost done and super him to kill him
I would feel bad if the mode wasn't so stupid
weekend finally is over
were my /minminiggas/ at? anyone else convert during the testpunch?
Not as many people in this last testpunch. I guess normal people have shit to do on a Sunday.
I only played with waggle controls. Is it easier with using a more traditional layout?
Your logic should be attack who you would have the most trouble against while maintaining your own HP. You win by KO or by having the most health. Do NOT let Mummy sit idle somewhere.
Please remember to gently bend your Switch back straight after an intense gaming session.
I didn't expect to love this game but I do, the fighting with traditional controls is so fucking fun, I think this is the next rocket league for me.
So are you sold on ARMS? I know I am.
why theres no 4 player ffa blows my mind. 3 people always was lame, even in smash brothers
But how ? Can you switch arms in combat ? how can I do curve shot with the pad ?
Tips for playing against telespamming Ninjara mains? I kept matching up against one this testpunch that was impossible to read
Was my favorite character. Wish I could change up her fists more though. Like boomerang+megaton.
You kick it.
what else could you be but a minminfag?
any curving weapons kind of dicks all over the lion shield
>2v2
>Requiring coordination, since your movement is literally restricted by your teammate and there's friendly fire, in a game with no voice chat
Mechanica is Spring Man's sister
right
96 and top of my lobby
feels good
I'll admit I've ganged up on on people on the stairs stage. Feels super cheesy and I hope they change that.
>be mummy
>1v1v1
>immediately gangraped
They're catching on guys.
>Stop liking what I don't like: The post
I want to hug Spring man!
Yep, the movement is much easier and can dodge better.
> Make a simple fighting game that is super fun because of motion controls
> Allow the superior (but less fun) normal controllers
> Anyone playing it competitively will use the superior (but less fun) normal controllers
> Competitive play won't be fun
Why?
Right here, dude. I only got to play three or four matches, but they were fun as fuck.
There's another test punch later, right?
Anyone else love pretty much every character (except for Helix, sorry)? It's gonna be hard to pick a main, but I'm set on Mechanica for now
i never got to learn controller. the motion controls seemed fine and didn't really have time to learn controller
I like the dragon charging, but I hate the window for her dash parry. It's pretty small and hard to get used to. It'll be great to practice though once we can use some arms that don't actually suck for these match ups.
>4 player ffa
there is senpai, its pretty rare in party mode though
Yeah, she really is the best. Using her jump kick to counter grab reads is really good.
Were you flubbing inputs? If not motion are probably fine for you. Otherwise it's probably easier to use regular because the inputs are all very simple.
This session was great for me. My group had about the same skill level all around so we all stuck around for a while. I'm still learning how to get around grabs because one Master Mummy player did pretty much nothing but spam them.
The 1v1v1 battles are a lot more fun when you get a good group going because people are more or less willing to pick a player to beat on.
Maybe for christmas if there's a pricedrop.
There is 4 player ffa. I played one once during the beta. Still felt like shit though but better than 1v1v1
There are, but they must be extremely rare. In 5 h I played, I only had one 4 ffa.
Depends on your character, but honestly it's about reads, Pretty much if your anyone that isn't mum or mech, you can try to bait out a throw by putting up your guard, then reading that and side dashing and following with a counter punch or throw depending on how close you are.
If you are the big ones, Mech can see to her air game and punch her throws out the air fairly easily, and mummy can tank just about anything she hits, so just megaton punch her.
But there is? I'm sure I played 4 player free for all.
Well I don't know much about the characters, I beat all of them and lost to most of them anyway. So I take points as measure.
well half my punches go right through people so take it for what it is
You can tell which direction they are going before they move so let them keep teleporting then grab. After you grab slap em from a far when they teleport.
>Trying to dodge a grab/super
>Your teammate drags you back into it
>(but less fun)
for you maybe
Over!!!!
Now post your score, favorite character, favorite arm combo, the character you hate the most, favorite stage and favorite mode
102, min min, ram ram/dragon, ninjara, spring stage and 1 vs 1
It depends. With motion controls is much more easy to curve your punches.
next weekend same hours and then I guess the game comes out a week or two after that
What are those fucking swirly things? I see them in anime and get them in my instant ramen, but have no fucking clue what they are.
> No voice chat
Imagine if there was, that would be a riot!
good
>new player in lobby
>get matched up 1v1
>kick his shit in 30 seconds
>feel bad because it was probally a little kid
>when minmin kicks your stunner but misses the slapamander headed right for her face
Stll waiting for these superior controller users to come out
Ended with 73 which is pretty shit, it's like everyone else but me got gud while I wasn't watching.
>Only Helix
>Hit 96 points
Getting better lads.
>Playing against Ninjara
>He keeps going for grabs
>Whittle him down with the ice beam
>Dodge under his grab
>Counter grab him
Ninjaras pls go
a mechafag
106
>highest score in the room
>everyone gank on you in 3v3 4v4
>still win
Best feeling
Fuck you Kiki+Lala
>using super
>teammate gets grabbed and knocks you out of it
>needing grabs
But I just got good at volleyball.
we boutta ball
HOOPS IS REPLACING V-BALL NEXT WEEK

You can also punch while in guard stance. It auto drops the guard, which I find to be absolute bullshit. If the counter to guarding is throwing, you shouldn't be able to counter throws so easily WHILE guarding as well.
It is OBJECTIVELY less fun.
You don't get the EXTREME workout with normal controllers, do you?
I need Slapamander tips. I pretty much only played Ribbon, but only the electric popper combo. Can't figure out what good the slapper is for.
