They announced in 2013 and worked on it using the luminous engine for almost 2 years and scrapped all of that and are currently working with UE4

I don't understand how/why anyone would be surprised by this. Considering how long SE takes to release their flagship titles now combined with the fact that next to nothing has been shown from these games, why you'd think they'd be coming out in the near future is baffling.

Square-Enix had a chance to remake the masterpiece VIII with complex protag Squall and they decided to go with the babbys first FF. Lets release it episodically to boot because the people will eat shit just to play a "reimagined" version of this overrated game.
