What's a game that you really wanted to like but just had to accept that you couldn't?

I love P4/G and everything about it which of course includes Shoji Meguro's great OST. I love rhythm games too so this seemed like the perfect game for me. But then I actually play it and there's all sorts of remixes butchering the songs I loved, especially "Heaven". And what the fuck is the story, saving some idols I don't give a shit about and it's only locked to normal mode? And the beatmaps don't fucking make sense at all, they barely go with the rhythm and instead have some implied implied beat instead. I was really disappointed when I actually spent money on DLC songs only to find one of my favorite songs True Story's map didn't make any sense at all on hard.
How could they have ruined something that could have been so great? It was so simple to not fuck up and they did.
Its not that its an implied beat, it's just that sometimes it changes what it wants the notes to hit to.
I got used to it quickly and it's actually pretty fun.

I came from being able to nearly perfect songs on extreme in games like PDs and IA/VT and the mapping for P4DAN is just all kinds of fucked.

Gotta get used to it man. I do good on games like Prject Diva and Taiko, but had trouble at first with DAN but got used to it and get good scores on higher difficulties
So how exactly is it mapped then? Am I not supposed to go with the songs then? Not to mention how much the remixes throw me off too because I've listened to the P4/G track for so much that I can't get used to the new styles.

I really loved this game and I don't even play rhythm games. I dunno, you might be gay.
Oh and another thing is what is with the rating decay on hard? It takes like perfecting half the song to go white to green but 2 mistakes to go flashing to yellow.

Honestly I dont know how to explain it.. I even have for notes to fly from random directions and opposite directions (not that it matters anymore cause random) and still do well
God damn. I'm nearly as autistic as the japs in rhythm games, for instance I can do youtube.com/watch?v=dtVIbmU6JnY fine. but no matter how hard I try I just don't "get" P4DAN which is such a shame since I love P4 so much.

Why would you make a Project Diva-esque game but lock the characters to specific songs? It makes no sense whatsoever, and makes getting DLC characters a waste
Liam Williams
Sega pulled the official team off the project after it made it through the planning stages.

>But then I actually play it and there's all sorts of remixes butchering the songs I loved, especially "Heaven". I haven't played the game so I have no idea if this song is fun to play. But fuck me it's great to listen to. The drums get my dick hard
I don't think this was supposed to be a project diva-esque game

I'm glad I'm not the only one that was pissed off by this shitty game. The only worthwhile thing to take away from this game is the enhanced soundtrack, and I don't mean all of the mediocre remixes. The "complete" versions of songs from Persona 4's soundtrack are great and almost make me not regret getting the Limited Edition of the game. What pisses me off about this game isn't even the barely-there story or a third of the soundtrack being full of bad songs, but the gameplay was just atrocious. Like OP said, the inputs just don't make sense. I'm way too used to proper rhythm games, so maybe that's what the problem was. Also, fuck the notes being yellow colored when the background is full of the same color AND having them appear from the middle of all that yellow in the center to go outwards near the edge of the screen. They really should have just had the button prompts show up in a clear, readable area so that I could just play the game without getting distracted by shit.

Prey. Had a lot of potential but was just dumb jump scares and other bad mechanics.

The way the notes edge out is quite a wierd thing to get used to for rhythm games. I had to play with my vita held arms length or more from me to read all incoming notes.

>What's a game that you really wanted to like but just had to accept that you couldn't? Any souls game. I've tried time and time again, heard all the reasons people fall in love with these fucking games, and I just can't do it. I just don't enjoy playing them on a base level and it bugs me a bit because fucking everyone is in love with this fucking series and I just can't find the care to play them for very long at all. Makes me feel like there is just something wrong with me.

D44M for obvious reasons. Why Bethesda why?

>tfw The fighting spin-off had a better remix of Reach Out To The Truth than the rhythm spin-off
