She said that? Steven Universe definitely isn't for boys. Boys like action and cool things on the screen. Steven Universe is covered in pretty light colors, has little action, and romance shit in it.

Powerpuff Girls did it right for it to be called for both girls and boys. It may be covered in pretty colors but it had a ton of action to back it up. With barely any drama or romance thrown in.

Like I actually think she believes she's making Sailor Moon or Dragonball Z or something which boys can get into and that's what the gems are SUPPOSED to be, but everything else about the show completely botches that concept and you'd have to be a literal manchild trying to show how progressive you are or the parents of uberliberals to be a boy and enjoy the show, because it's actually terrible.
