Why is it so hard to make friends online now? I remember having 100+ active friends list from when I was 12 and chatted/played with them usually everyday. But now whenever I play an online game it isn't the same and I have nobody to talk to or play with.

>Why is it so hard to make friends online now?
Everyone is growing up, and becoming more skilled with online relationships making it harder to safely start one
Back when were kids, nobody had mental safeguards on the internet so it was easy to make friends
Now everyone is experienced as fuck and you need to have some social skills to get anywhere
Just do what I do and find the online places girls are at and talk to girls everyday, even if it's online, never stop talking to girls, and your social skills will improve over time.

>that username
that isn't how you make friends
Wanna talk about it?
You're older and neither you nor anyone else wants to invest the time or effort to build a new relationship.
It has nothing to do with social skills it has everything to do with the current demographic of gamers. Shit I remember playing with 10-15 really cool people on Halo2 and a few other original Xbox games now You got smart ass little kids screaming nigger and ever other obscenity in their mic's. Or better yet retarded man child's blasting music. Our society really has turned to shit this is why I stick to single player games.
>You're older and neither you nor anyone else wants to invest the time or effort to build a new relationship.
This.
Building/starting relationships gets hard as fuck as you get older
i am SO FUCKING LUCKY i scored and got one japanese girl as an acquaintenace 5 years ago and was able to restart my relationship with her last year
I can tell from personal experience.
Back when I was 15 I played a lot of WoW, had a bunch of friends, even started a raiding guild, scheduled and main tanked a shitton of vanilla/TBC raids until the point I wanted some freedom. I spent more and more time playing alts on different servers just so I could do my own thing and eventually I just quit the game entirely.
Most people quit because of expansions/patch decisions and the game turning to shit but I quit because whatever's social turns into an obligation at some point.
I've played some other multiplayer games and accepted friend invites often and whenever those people wanted to play together (when I just wanted to fuck around on pubs or play some other game) I had to make up excuses because 'I'm not in the mood for this mode/game right now' increasingly began to not work anymore.
I met tons of people who were just desperate for friends and got mad/sad whenever their expectations (play with someone all the time) weren't met.
As of today, I play exclusively single player games to avoid all sorts of human contact and honestly? I don't miss a damn thing about it. I just got bitter to any interaction that isn't anonymous. I've even stopped answering RL friends most of the time just so I can do my own fucking thing with no god damn interruptions.
Then:
>Friends on IRC
>Friends on ICQ/MSN
>Friends ingame
>Friends in real life
Now:
>Two friends and a family member i rarely speak to
Did i get worse, or did everything else?
How do you think those friends feel when you literally never seem to want to interact with them?
Fear of scams/stalkers/cat fishers.
Backing in the '90s and '00s we were innocent.
Back when I was 12.everyone wanted to chat and send me nudes and have sex with me
Now I'm a permavirgin
Some just ignore me, but some others keep trying to get in contact.
I think the distance makes them want to get more in touch as my presence becomes prized solely by the fact that it's rare for me to talk to them.
That's the one reason why 'plz respond' shit never works. Social interaction is just a fucking game, if it comes in too easily, it's boring. If it's rare or hard to achieve, it gains some magical value to it.
You're a bad friend, dude.
I feel ya. Sometimes it's just a matter of shifting interests. Not a whole lot of old friends who want to gab about weird niche games.
I know that. I feel guilty sometimes because there's some people who I genuinely like and sometimes even miss.
But working all day long, having to deal with a bunch of shit constantly and rarely having the time to play my games, watch my stupid videos and just fuck around doesn't free up much time for friends.
I'm really fascinated by people who can still keep up with their hobbies, have social lifes and work full time while actually managing to sleep daily.
Some day you might need something from them, that's the benefit of friends. Unfortunately "plz respond" won't work for you ether.

Friends are gay.
unless its a girl
Girls are gay too.
Where do I find girls online that are actually willing to talk to me?
Talking to girls you aren't having sex with. For what purpose?
camgirls + donate
>Where do I find girls online that are actually willing to talk to me?
Here's a hint: Stop playing the videogames you are comfortable with and explore new communities
Persona 5's motto is LITERALLY 'Get up, get out there'. You have to leave your comfort zone to get girls. Stop procrastinating and JUST. DO. IT. PLAY VIDEOGAMES YOU NORMALLY WOULDNT PLAY, JUST
DO IT
>he doesn't know how to be a playboy
be a playboy and talk to as many girls as possible, user
yeah but i gotta play through all of persona first, which will take about 100 hours. then i gotta do a second run immediately, i aint got time for getting out there.
Nigger did you just not understand anything I posted?
You're a weeb, right? That's why you were thinking about Persona
What if I told you female weebs exist
youtube.com
Look at the comments. Literally everyone is female. The communities are out there. You just gotta find them.
this is good advice if you want to have lots of female friends and never get laid
if you can't be sociable with other guys you'll be eaten alive
True, a good solution is to find a game that both guys and girls play in equal numbers
I only know of one such game, and I can guarantee you that poster doesn't have the balls to try it.
Sure if you want to talk about it.
or maybe you just got to shit man. ever thought of that?
This is true. I lost a gf of 5 years over it. I was 100% comfortable with girls but her friends were 50% guys and I didn't know how to banter etc. I ended up never going out with them because it was awkward for everyone and it put a strain on us as a result.
aye.
you sadly have to talk with guys AND girls to do well with a girl
what game?
desu i think mmos are best for having more even ratios
Audition's playerbase is about 60% female vs %40 male and has an online dating mechanic that's pretty popular with the girls on that particula game
it's the only example of a game that has a 'more girls than guys while still having guys'.that I can think of, other than maybe Osu.
you should try it, even if it doesn't seem like your tea at first. it's pretty chill.
youtube.com
it's one of the most chill games where nobody cares about 'meta' or 'git gud' and people just want to genuinely have fun.
I'm that 'pls respond' friend
Because people now are more narcissistic
Aww shit nigga, this was really fun
>tfw always was genuinely pleased whenever Big Girls Don't Cry came on
Probably because the stuff we did when we were 12 was cringy so we try to not making that same mistake by avoiding large group of friends online
>Aww shit nigga, this was really fun
Not only is it fun, it's still alive.
one of the only games where you can see empty rooms of girls waiting for a guy to join
Euro 2005 is the real jam, don't let niggas decieve you

In MMOs you had to talk to people or form guilds so you could run dungeons, but nowadays you can just hop on LFG that automatically gives you people to play with and you rarely talk to them.
Same with matchmaking in most multiplayer games, there are no communities formed in custom servers since you play with different people every time.
Also it doesn't help if you're spending your time on anonymous image boards instead of forums where you get to know people.
Haven't had friends as an adult, and had very few as a kid. I have no idea how you make friends online.
> invest the time
damn thats so true its kinda sad
