Newish tank, level 52, about to do the first Heavensward dungeon. Am I going to be expected to pull everything at the same time, or is this going to go at the same pace as the pre 50 dungeons?

everything stop being a babby faggot.
Take it easy, learn the mob positioning in the dungeons and see how much your gear can endure the punishment.
Respect the content.
You can only really pull everything in 50 and 60 dungeons anyway.
First dungeon has a bit of a higher spike in damage unless you have perfect 50 gear.
So pull it carefully.
That being said, you can pull everything unless they healer has the downs.
>everything stop being a babby faggot.
I'm worried because I'm going in blind and don't know what the dungeons even look like
This is patently untrue.
Unless you're shit.
Pre-50 might have been a slight issue (but not really) post 50 isn't an issue and everyone has good enough AOE at this point.
You can't pull everything, most HW dungeons have some kind of gates along the path that only open with the death of some particular mobs
Yeah but 90% of healers can't take it.
I died so many times in sohm ai trying to pull more than 1 group at a time.
Fuck I wish they do at least -one- dungeon that isn't just a series of trash filled hallways with three boss checkpoints
Even 1.0 put more effort into its dungeons, and that's just sad
They tried that with things like Brayflox and people hated it.
>post yfw PLD is still shit
What? Unless I'm grossly misremembering, Brayflox wasn't any different in format to the other dungeons
They better be, DRK deserves the MT spot.
>You can tank really well guys!
Oh look more bullshit that won't be relevant because every meta is designed for maximum DPS output and not safety
It's the same reason WHM will be shit as the incompetent devs are trying to push it in a "pure healer" direction.
WHM and PLD will be doa, whilst WAR, AST, SCH and DRK will still be the number one jobs in each role.
Actually WAR and PLD will fight for MT spot this time while DRK gets free ride into OT spot.
>mfw still gonna play it
laughing @ all those WAR and DRK cucks having to press buttons to do something efficiently
meanwhile I will enjoy my anime on my dual monitor as I merely have to press a couple of keys through the entire dungeon
Pretty much this. You may be able to grab several groups of enemies before hitting a gate though.
I would suggest taking it easy the first time you do a dungeon, then increasing the size of pulls once you're more comfortable.
How do we stop WAR?
WAR will stop itself. All the bandwagoners will cry and flitter away once they lose the ability to hit insane burst like they used to do.
why are the best FF girls always villains
why can't we have cool supporting cast girls
Looks fine to me.
>Sophia
>villain
She just wanted to fuck up the Allagans.
Because they're less developed. Square cant write for shit so the more we're exposed to a character the worse they get.
What's her story again?
>could have had birb waifu or brown hourglass goddess
>stuck with Tataru and a blind cat
Why can't we side with the primals already?
Because muh aether
The Void used to be a parallel world of Hydaelyn. Igeyorhm introduced primals there, and then introduced the idea of trapping them in auracite. The heroes of that world defeated primals, and then trapped them to siphon their power. But the primals in the auracite eventually began to mutate the heroes into aether-hungry monsters. And the world fell to Darkness. Scathach was one of the heroes. She was possibly a Warrior of Light given that she's powerful enough to be called Queen. Cuchulainn was another.
Then she became the cock slut of mhach black mages.
Wait, is the Void same as World of Darkness?
yeah we should unsub the game!
Yeah
Will we ever have another comfiness that's ever top or equal to Fisherman Horizon in XIV?
youtube.com
I really miss these old tunes
Hopefully they'll install it in as Fishing job last quest reward
>Igeyorhm
who?
The Ascian lady you killed the fuck out of in Aetherochemical Research Facility.
I don't think they should be allowed to draw asses, hips and thighs like this when in-game everyone has pancake butts.
wtf I thought it was a man
>that au ra
Ah, in your dreams you femlet.
There were two of them. She had Lahabrea with her, who was a man.
Which grand company should I join?
Senna a qt
Generally in the HW levelling dungeons you won't be big pulling. Only once you start hitting the endgame dungeons will that start being a thing again.
Twin Adders is the ONLY choice, user.
Do it for Kan-E
Do it for Raya-O
Adders if you want to be a an Elemental cuck. Immortal Flames if you want to be in some Lalajew's pocket and Maelstrom if you like to rape.
Only join Adders if you are hyur or elezen, we do not like lesser races.
Do it for NOTHICCA
>pirates led by a tranny dictator who would rather slaughter Kobolds to steal their shit than put resources towards kicking Sahagins and Garleans off their island
>desert mercenaries who are the only GC actually brave enough to send regular raiding parties against their local primal
>communist hippies who live under the dystopian gaze of demigods but they have a cabal of eternal lolis and shotas to speak for them
Fucking propaganda.
Adders it is then, thanks friends. Death to cats/potatoes
BREHS
When do we get to fucking kill the elementals in the twelveswood? Those faggots have it coming.
When you pledge allegiance to Mhach.
If you want to live in a desert fuck off to thanalan, leave my forest.
They'll just do another Calamity if they feel threatened.
>t. butthurt ahriman
is this game fun if you arent a weeaboo? serious question
yes?
>Garlemald bombs the Shroud
>Elementals react by killing Gridanians
Keep sucking that aetherial cock, hippies. You won't be around much longer.
Elementals are important to the world even if you don't like them, like bees.
who /erp/ here
Both vigil dungeons hit HARD stick to one pack at a time but if you're in ironworks i130 then go for 2 and drop tank stance on boss after establishin aggro
Elementals exist in every single thing. It's only in the Shroud where they're violent, reactionary monsters.
>Let's make content that people will actively avoid
Why are you so dumb, user?
People are going to route the dungeon and it's just gonna be the same thing as a hallway in the end
Newbie tank here
How should I be handling cooldowns? How do I manage between saving them for big hits, and general damage mitigation?
WHO ODIN HERE
To be fair the first few rooms in sohm al hits hard as Fuck for some reason I seem to only reliably dps that first room as a sch
>People are going to route the dungeon and it's just gonna be the same thing as a hallway in the end
You can make a dungeon unique in more ways than just having multiple paths
For example, in 1.0's Cutter's Cry, there was a part where your party had to split up into groups, go into different parts of the dungeon, and coordinate killing two different mobs at the same time
We need more stuff like that IMO. I mean when you have 50+ dungeons you figure at least one of them would have some kind of interesting gimmick to spice things up
Why are you still responding to 1.0 idiocy?
>odin
Man you really have no imagination, just like your favorite hack Yoshi-P.
Nobody is asking for non-linear CYOA dungeons, however there is room for dungeons that aren't literally just straight lines.
Maybe if this game wasn't literally about getting your tomestone wage every week it wouldn't be such a problem to have non-trivial content.
god damn. I think it's bad design when you basically force player to make macros or live with a bar like this.
like I see some shit on those bars that aren't necessary but like 75% of them are.
Learn which boss attacks are tank busters and use them then. There's no using cooldowns for ''general'' mitigation, they're used for tank busters.
More like only 60%
The rest are pvpshit or emotes
>It's only in the Shroud where they're violent, reactionary monsters
You also seem to forget that unlike the PACIFIC and TOLERANT elementals that don't move an inch when shit hits the fan, the twelveswood ones actually get their hands dirty and help the gridanian pleb to defeat the threat
Most of the time I just use them while doing pull, aside from raiding you won't see many bosses doing so much damage it absolutely requires you to use a CD
cool downs are for trash and for dropping tank stance
Odin is EU yes.
Looks like the average OF post to me.
>You also seem to forget that unlike the PACIFIC and TOLERANT elementals that don't move an inch when shit hits the fan, the twelveswood ones actually get their hands dirty and help the gridanian pleb to defeat the threat
But they don't. The Elementals don't recognize differences in borders or cultures. Every human and beastman is exactly the same thing in their eyes, and if one thing is causing them trouble, they will start killing EVERYTHING until the problem is solved. As shown in 1.0 when Garlemald bombed the Shroud and they started killing Gridanians. It's the same reason Keepers and Duskwights are such a problem for Gridania. Because if they piss off the Elementals too much, it's the Gridanians who are going to end up paying the price.
Brayflox is fuckhuge and Totorak has shitloads of paths, but you have to ASK people to NOT speedrun to the boss.
Every time they try a unique dungeon, the mouth breathing faggots that play this game piss and moan that it's too complex or hard and we end up with the corridor bullshit.
The game's biggest problem will ALWAYS be the shitters who play it
>There's no using cooldowns for ''general'' mitigation
Every time I see a tank who doesn't use cooldowns on trash because he's "saving it for the boss" I want to breathe in cyanide gas.
Garlemald GC W H E N
>sheltron twice
For what purpose?
>Brayflox is fuckhuge and Totorak has shitloads of paths, but you have to ASK people to NOT speedrun to the boss.
So what you're saying is that in an MMO people have to communicate to reach a common goal? Wow holy shit what a concept!
Newsflash: this happens. I remember people asking people to let seeds in Aurum Vale live. I remember full Lv32 Bray clear for exp back when PotD wasn't so fucking OP on payouts. All it takes is to just speak up in the chat.
What could go a long way to stimulate communication like this are weekly quests, for example, an extra miniboss that can spawn in a dungeon for extra tomes, then people would end up asking tank "hey let's go out our way and kill that guy". That's okay to have.
Yoshihack wants to kill dungeon speedruns but the way to do that is to design a better game, not to put gates in your wage dungeons. I don't know how people don't understand this it's like XIV is their first MMO.
Oh, it is.
Brayflox and Totrak are still corridor shit. Having on room be slightly wider than the average corridor doesn't really make it unique
There's all kinds of stuff you could do to make a dungeon unique that doesn't just involve throwing in optional paths.
But my epic healer deeeeeeeeps.
>Brayflox is fuckhuge and Totorak has shitloads of paths
No
Brayflox have huge rooms, but the dungeon in its format is identical to any other
Same for Toto Rak, it has plenty of alternate corridors that are ultimately useless since you'll still have to do the same path to bosses
>The Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak in 1.0 had multiple pathways and 3 different bosses you could CHOOSE from, almost like an easy, medium, and hard mode within the same dungeon. The bosses had different loot tables, and depending on the speed in which you completed the dungeon, you were awarded with different quality/quantity of chests.
This is a different kind of dungeon, 2.0 Toto rak and Brayflox have pointless space or unnecessarily large rooms, but they're no different than other hallway dungeons in their structure / format
Long CD time: save for tank buster/oh shit situations
Short CD: bread and butter migitation for large mob pulls
Stop being dumb.
Don't get lost, kids. We know a big field may be too much for you!
>not using the long Cds in massive first room pulls
I see the stale 1.0/wow shitposter is bored today.
Says a guy who's whining because he has to heal a tank instead of squeezing in an extra stone I for the epic speedkill. 99% of the time clears take long because the dps players are absolute hot trash, not because the tank didn't use a CD on pulling 2 mob packs.
So if this is strictly boss fights, I should only be using cooldowns to take big hits/for some specific phase?
>people that do a full clear on Brayflox
If you want to level do a levequest or something.
I hope this dungeon isn't some gay fucking faggot trial the au'ra twinks on the steppes are going to spring on us to prove our worthiness to get the plot device related to the zone.
ha ha?
I'm sure it's nothing like that at all, user. :^)
>people who do full clears of brayflox, haukke, or toto rak
JUST
KILL
ME
NOW
Is it a good time to get into this game?
Other people being bad is not an excuse to be bad. End yourself.
>The Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak in 1.0 had multiple pathways and 3 different bosses you could CHOOSE from, almost like an easy, medium, and hard mode within the same dungeon. You know gos damn well these shitheads will pick the fastest path every single time and berate anyone who even thinks about going elsewhere
