Be honest, how many of you have one?
And how many of you can actually play it?
Post 'em if you got 'em.
Be honest, how many of you have one?
I am not autistic. Thank you!
Where can I buy one? Doesn't have to be an OoT ocarina.
STL ocarinas or Songbird ocarinas are good places for beginners, both have zelda ocarinas that dont sound like shite.
Nice try op, but no one will ever know that I have one.
/thread/
My roommate has one, he mostly just plays some Zelda and LoTR stuff. Not that good at it but at least he practices every once in awhile.
I.. Uh, have that exact one.
I've thought about getting one at various points but never pulled the trigger. It's not even really because of the Zelda connection although that was I think my first introduction to them. I just thing they're really nice sounding and it'd be cool to learn another instrument that isn't super challenging or expensive to get into like a proper woodwind instrument.
Impulse buy from a STL booth at a convention two years ago, haven't learned how to play it because i live in apartments but i plan on turning my hall closet into a sound dampening practice area.
Harmonica is cheap and not that hard if you invest like 10 hours learning it.
I have one but I can't play it because I refuse to practice it. If you're not good at playing it's extremely loud, shrill horseshit and I've have to drive out somewhere secluded to not bother anyone with it.
I have 3. At their core, they're hardly more complex than the fucking recorders you used to play in elementary school music class, just with more holes and more reliance on how hard you blow.
Just make sure you spend over $40 for one otherwise it'll just sound like shit.
I bought one on the street and painted it blue. I could play some easy songs but I never really practiced much since it's hard to control the volume.
I'm more of a guitar man myself, I wish vidya paid more attention to it since it's a great instrument.
Bought my first one before i played Zelda, played OoT and bought another one.
I got mine from a con a while back. I decided to go hard from the start.
I have one, but the first song I learned to play was the opening theme for Morrowind.
My mom bought me one back when I was like... 12? This was before you could just go online and get literally anything on Amazon or eBay, so she had to put in an order at the local music shop. Took forever to come in. It was a plastic piece of shit, but I didn't care. My grandma sewed a brown cloth pouch for it that I could sling around my shoulder like a faggot. I used to be able to play Marin's song. Shit was cash.
>double ocarina
fucking jealous
Even when I was a kid and Zelda was the hot new shit I thought actually playing one of these IRL would make you look like a total dweeber but I did still sorta want one.
I can play the recorder perfectly but no matter how good you are it always sounds like shit. Is this instrument the same way?
I had one when I was a kid, because aztecs have one and I'm of mexican descent so my aunt gave me one when I was a kid
Air control.
Its a professional instrument, its only as bad as you are.
Is it really a "professional" instrument?
Yes.
I got one for my sis who apparently loves Zelda for Christmas last year
I have no idea what she did with it
My female sex friend had one. She could barely play it.
I bought one at the renaissance faire when I was 12 or so. I've never been musically inclined though, so it's been chilling in my old closet back at my parents house.
they're pretty easy to play if you want to be a dork and only play video game tabs

Thats cute as fuck
user...
I have one of the real early OoT themed ones with four holes, but it's not handy. I also have the CD.

>claims to not be autistic
This one apparently plays like a recorder.
stlocarina.com
And this is how it sounds.
youtube.com
Also it looks like a fish or something, and thats cool i guess.
They're not too hard to git gud at, the biggest ocarina youtubers started by making a shitty video of him playing a zelda ocarina really badly and within a year he was pretty good.
Bought a brown ocarina long time ago. Only had 5 holes so the range of notes was limited
I hate myself for bringing it to school and everywhere
I was always a music guy so I made it a point to have an instrument on me at all times in grade and high school. Though this was usually a harmonica.
I've wanted one of these ocarinas since I was a kid when OoT came out. Maybe one day... I spent a lot of my childhood figuring out how to play Zelda songs on the piano as a kid.
Do it before the motivation is dead forever.
gf got me one last year. I can play it but it sounds like a recorder, nothing like videos I've seen
Maybe I'm just shit at it
The Fairy Ocarina looks like the only one that's not a piece of shit and less than $100.
He is right you know. It is against the rules to post websites soliciting any items what so ever.
If you had to advertise buy a Self-Ad that Sup Forums offers.
Posting a link in this thread is a good way to get yourself a week ban.
If you're paying less than $70 for an ocarina you're pretty much just buying a vase that cant easily hold flowers.
>go to church today
>I go to a young single adult church
>Guy is announced to give a special musical number
>He's this greasy nerd autist guy. Nice, but insanely cringy.
>Goes in front of everyone and plays Zelda music mixed with some hymns on a Blue orcarina with a triforce on it.
>mfw
To be honest, he wasn't bad at playing, he obviously practices
I have a small one I got at the Renaissance Festival when I was a kid. Never really learned how to play.
>wasting time in a church service for that
You could be using that time for a sermon. Or was he part of the worship service before that?
Why do all those youtube videos sound out of tune? Just zeldafags being cheap or is every ocarina like that?
It's normal for people in the church to participate, our leader doesn't give sermons each sunday, it's assigned so each member gives like 15 minute sermons every so often.
He asked to do a song and they let him. Still was cringy.
Its likely she got you one of the cheaply made ocarinas off amazon or ebay, those are awfully tuned and sometimes dont even play.
>I go to a young single adult church
Wat. Is this like Tinder for christfags?
Christian Mingle is Tinder for Christfags
Yeah,
Just without the sex
Don't have it on hand but here's an image of one from photobucket. I like it. Feels good to hold and play.
i have one but dont feel like taking a picture of it. it's a zelda one. i can play eponas song on it, but when i try other songs they sound pretty bad and impossible to make them sound good it feels like. I got it for christmas after asking for 5 years straight, but i was never a fan of zelda
the dragon tooth ocarinas look so fucking nice but i can never bring my self to spend over $100 for them.
Are these dildos?
>i was never a fan of zelda
Why did you want one then?
im a flat earther and a firm beliver of the book of enoch.
wheres a mingle for that?
Do any provide a sound like this?
i saw an ad for it in one of my magazines with a girl playing it. it had nothing to do with zelda except that it was her ocarina. i always thought it looked like a cool piece to have and play if i could ever learn it but never did
I made a shitty one in art class like forever ago. terrible paint job but it works.
awake.dating my dude
Are those ones decent?
I can only find ocarina's that look like that or 'deluxe professional masterwork beautiful rare $180' ocarina's that look like tacky garbage.
I had a phase like, shit, 10 years ago?
Made some cool music friends in doing so back then
I still have a soprano and tenor C sitting in my cupboard. The songbird zleda ocarina with the 6 holes sucks fucking ass.
I stopped short of that hobby before getting a concert triple ocarina so i could play anything I actually wanted without being stuck to the same key.
at first its nice, but its pretty garish after a few seconds
As long as you get them from a good place, tell me what you're looking for and how much and i can find you some options.
Oh it's definitely over the top, but I like to just play it by myself every once in a while. Also looks good on a shelf.
The beginning bit just sounds like a normal ocarina in a good sound stage.
Any decent ocarina, however there is some reverb added either by playing in a place with good acoustics or in editing.
STL does make an ocarina based off of Melody's ocarina, kind of cheesy looking but might be a good one for a beginner.
Isnt this thing basically a Primate Saxophone?
I think people are afraid to use it because of Zelda, everyone would think its just a Zelda knock off or something.
Fucking this I want me a double ocarina as well
Yea, they get together and they star pairing them up so they can participate in steamy, sweaty abstinence
Yes.
You still have it?
I have a 12-hole ocarina. My then-girlfriend bought it for me for Valentines about 8 years ago. I still can't play it. One of these days.
No.
wtf
fpbp
Maybe.
I dont know, can you repeat the question?
YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME NOW
