Is a fox

>is a fox
>runs

HOLY SHIT IS THAT A MOTHERFUCKING SWEET REFERENCE!?

I miss those first few nights of discussion when the game came out before the ecelebs got to it.

>Minecraft
>FNAF
>Undertale
any other games that suffered this kind of fate?

Amnesia was decent enough. Was happywheels ever good?

i guess? I can't remember well

>Nobody has taken FNaF to the next level where you play a guest in a mansion with 12 other people and one is a murderer

Every single game released since 2014

...

I'm not the only one who actually got scared the first time I saw this, right? All the other jump scares were whatever, but seeing that run down the hallway for the first time almost looked like something straight out of a nightmare

No, you aren't
The sudden movement of something that up until that point, you had thought to be frozen like a statue, is pretty good horror for the surprise. It's like when you realize the Alien isn't going to be as threatened by your flamethrower anymore.

>not his Naruto run from Smash

>I'm not the only one who actually got scared the first time I saw this, right?

Nope. Everything else in the game is frozen solid and only moves when offscreen, then this asshole starts barreling down the hallway at you like Sanic on crack. Caught me completely off guard when I first saw it.

It's arguably the best designed jump scare in vidya.
Not cheap, not purely for the sake of startling, not overblown (its actually quite understated), set up just right by the other bots lack of animation, the player is conditioned to have an immediate panic reaction to that animation, etc.

It honestly feels kinda bizarre, being one of the first people to know about FN@F, and then watching as it got bigger and bigger, and then seeing stuff like this at places like Toys R Us.

>That webm of the streamer that opened up the camera to the hallway, jumped when he saw the fox running, and freaked the fuck out when the fox came screeching into the room

no joke my fucking best friend Maxwell was one of the first people to ever stream FNAF 1, and he did it for Sup Forums
how the fuck did this get so popular?

Same thing happened with Minecraft when Vacation Man used to drop by here and have threads. Watched it unfold both times.

People often forget that the first fnaf was a legit breath of fresh air for horror games.

The fox is still the best robot.

god the first game was so good
it really came out of nowhere and was neat as hell

>tfw was in the /vg/ threads right from the start
>all those anons digging into the game trying to find out the lore
>constantly reposting the phone calls to try and find some secret
Where did we go so wrong

fox is a batshit crazy hyperactive attention whore

either Scott is a furry or he's had advice from one since day 1.

Best in the game? Probobly.
Best in vidya? Fuck no.

FNAF 1 was ingenious in my opinion. It worked with a lot of stuff while being incredibly simple.
Its only when Scott went full Youtube bait that most got sick of it.
That being said, props to Scott. Guy went from literal nobody to an incredibly profitable franchise in one year.

>That first time seeing the running animation

Post your reactions.

...

It started to go wrong hen people were egging drawfags to draw more lewd art by acting like they've never seen porn of any franchise before

>what is Trouble in Terrorist Town OR Murder

Maxwell? Does he live in Canada?

It went wrong when lorefags got involved. When it was just a fun, resource management game, the threads with a laugh. Lorefags turned the game into the franchise it is now
