I'm not going to lie, I'm hype as fuck, but how are they supposed to make this good with primal only coming out a little over a year ago?

It's not coming out for 9 months.
It's just going to be a reskin of 3, just like 4 was.
still
eh I have hope, far cry 3 and 4 were very similar in terms of location so it is kind of expected but 5 is set in America so
>3 and 4 were very similar in terms of location
Pacific Islands vs Himalayan mountains? There's nothing similar between the two.
I mean that both are in very forested, distant locations
And this game isnt going to be a very forested distant location?
At least from my point of view it is very distant.
2 year dev time is too short for open world imo
The villain will no doubt suck compared to 3 and 4.
Why is she holding a broccoli tree?
Imo the american current day setting makes zero fucking sense
Like nigga just call the police or post it on twitter or something haha
MOOOOOOOOOODSSSS
REEEEEEEEEEEE
No one wants to see these fucking shill threads twenty times a day
Insha'allah Ubisoft hq will be 'enriched' next
>hype
Why?
It looks boring as shit.
Well given the recent irl examples of the Bundy and Oregon militia standoffs where the police didn't do shit this isn't that far off from plausibility.
They were still there, and the malitia's werent murdering people cult style
Thres fucking outrage to be had here
I've only played Far Cry 4 and it's hard to make a worse villain than Pagan fucking Min. I've never seen a game with worse writing and a more generic, poorly constructed villain and I mean that. Even some one-dimensional by the books villain like Ganondorf is more acceptable because at least villains like that don't try to pretend to be something else.
>but how are they supposed to make this good with it being developed by ubisoft?
ftfy
...
It's her dearest treasure
None of the previous FarCries made any sense either. Why should this? It's all just fantasy shit.
By the time it comes out in February 2018, it'll have been 2 years since Far Cry Primal.
Same amount of time between Far Cry 3 and 4.
At least its fucking plausible
This is really getting my almobds activated
He's the epitome of a lolsorandum faux sympathetic villain archetype. WHOOOAAA HE LOOKS CALM AND LEVEL-HEADED BUT HE JUST FUCKING KILLED THAT GUY WITH A PEN, WHAT A G
The closest equivalent to him is Handsome Jack and that's embarrassing.
>tfw get to smoke weed and shoot rednecks
Don't preorder. It will be a worse version of 4 just like 4 was a worse version of three. Ubi will distract you with the massive advertising budget, it will sell like a fucking Harry Potter book and the world will take a step closer to the cataclysm
How is this not just as plausible?
Kooky cult leader is great when done well.
The Oregon occupation is a far cry (get it? A far cry?) from the shit that goes on in your typical Far Cry game. The idea that rural America is so far removed from law enforcement that it can sustain the amount of craziness that a Far Cry villain throws down for any period of time similar to the other games in the franchise is ridiculous.
That being said, it's not like Far Cry has cared about plausibility since the first game any way. The designers didn't vet Montana to make sure that a bad guy could plausibly start a home-grown self-governed military hell-hole there. They just picked it because they'd never put a game there before and thought it would be cool. Trying to rationalize how it could actually happen is putting more thought into it than Ubi ever did.
Primal was a different team.
>Is a gay, materialist diva
>Cares enough about the long-gone love his life to just give her son his kingdom after barely knowing him
I'm not seeing eye-to-eye with you on this. What is your idea of a good villain?
Because unpaid intern can't leave Ubisoft until he/she reaches thread creation Quota.
Having complete pr controll over a shit hole, third world, private country with governing power is COMPLETELY different from some hick town in USA being taken over by a murdering cult
I'm simple so I like cheesy Saturday morning "loves to be evil and seeks world domination" type villains, but as for one I think that's genuinely well-done? Ocelot from the MGS series. A lot of asspulls, retcons and pretenses in the whole of the MGS series but Ocelot is almost a perfect character regarding his motivations.
I have a heavy distaste for characters like Pagan Min because it feels like their unstable personality is easy appeal that's eaten up by the modern day Deadpool crowd.
Not really. You're able to suspend your disbelief easier because of past FarCries happening in places you've never heard of before, but once they bring the exact same crazy stories to a place you can relate easier, it's becomes harder for you to buy into the fantasy.
so basically you think everything is black and white, everyone is either good or bad no in-betweens.im sorry for you user :(
i hope one day you will grow up both in body and mind.
>tfw it wont be like true detective
.
Sweet, all I want is some new guns, abilities, vehicles and characters.
I'm not hype, but I am interested in this game. I like the setting, I like how the villains look, the idea of Aerial Dogfighting sounds dope, I like the player customization since the last two main Far Cry games Protags were not good. Of course I'm going to wait until reviews come out before I consider buying it, but overall I am very interested in this game.
OP didn't say anything about pre-ordering. Like I said, he and I are gonna wait for reviews like good little gamers and see if it's worth our time and money or not.
Am I the only one seeing Dennis from FC+ in the trailer? They are that lazy, so we get the SAME character models now? WTF is with these guys?
Same cars, same bear with same beargrowl-thingy, pathetic.
This is what Vaas was talking about, when mentioning insanity.
I just hope they give a decent explanation as to how the FBI doesn't catch wind of a Doomsday Cult actively attacking it's own county like a western version of ISIS.
Primal was shat out by a handful of people, it wasn't resource intensive and very clearly not beta tested.
My friend, I am also hype as hell. I don't care if it's mostly a reskin of 4. 4 was the second best one and with the addition of a campaign built with co-op in mind, I say bring on the fucking reskin, bois.
Is this another blatant shill thread?
what is this series even about anymore? the first had lizardmen. now crazy religious cults?
where's the connection?
Because it has majority control of the House and Senate?
>play game
>its always the same game just updated
jesus christ its almost like i cant buy other games
FUCK OFF FAGGOT
>everyone saying it's going to be shit because it'll just be a reskin of FC3 and 4
>mfw I never played either of them
>The idea that rural America is so far removed from law enforcement that it can sustain the amount of craziness that a Far Cry villain throws down for any period of time similar to the other games in the franchise is ridiculous.
You're a literal fucking retard.
wow its almost like you play as a deputy sheriff with a couple deputies
you stupid fucking moron
>muh fbi
go watch more movies
>He's the epitome of a lolsorandum faux sympathetic villain archetype
I believe it's called the charismatic sociopath archetype.
the game kicks off because you go to try and arrest the cult leader.
I think they know what's going on.
pretty sure if you got a jim jones mixed in there, you'd end up with this kind of situation
Imagine you got a unifying head figure for all the sovereign citizens out there. You could easily head up quite an army of nutjobs.
Not gonna lie, former Ubisoft costumer here. This is fucking hilarious watching Ubishit crash and burn. But in all seriousness we can't let them get new Far Cry game released.
Fuck gamers, and fuck white people
Watch your tongue, subhuman scum.
Was it that obvious? I'm sorry.
Primal was a reskin of 4.
It's why 5 is ready sooner than expected
Was a shit show anyways.
>1st season was decent, mostly because of the good camera work and sets
>shitstorm about plagiarization rises up
>2nd season is absolute dogshit in every way possible
>it's the writer actually trying to be original
activated my almonds, it did
>tfw it will be like Justified
#whitegenocide
I'm going to preface this by saying that I don't think its at all realistic, but it looks like they are at least trying to make it seem plausible. The shenanigans the villain gets up are, so far, kidnap, murder, arson and shooting up a plane, so its not like the national guard would be immediately alerted or something. I'm sure Ubisoft will conjure up some plot magic to explain it away that won't be too stupid, especially since they manage to dig up non retarded writers for farcry games.
I'm cautiously hyped for it, though I know the gameplay will be more of the same. Despite what faggots are saying, it looks like they're going the safe stereotype route with the NPCs; tuff country girl defending daddy's bar, badass black priest and guy defending his family, which is kinda disappointing and kinda relieving
Primal reused the map from 4
>I'm not going to lie, I'm hype as fuck,
Why? Who gets excited over cinematic trailers? Kids and Shills... that's it. FarCry games have been sandbox memes for a while now,
My guess is that you and some of your colleagues are sent in to investigate the rumors coming from Montana about a cult taking over. Not a whole lot of information is getting out because the cult has seized so much control of the county (including internet infrastructure I would assume).
You get immediately fucked upon entering the state, and one or more of your comrades are horribly murdered in front of your eyes. You escape in some unlikely fashion, probably with help from the resistance. Instead of escaping and reporting the severity of the problem, you decide to remain and go on a killing spree for *reasons*.
Honestly, I don't give a fuck. People looking for realism in a Far Cry game are very, very lost.
>People looking for realism in a Far Cry game are very, very lost.
As well as people looking for a good time, good story, or an experience that lasts more than 3-4 hours before becoming repetitive.
get out of here shill
Let's make up the most contrived and/or paranoid bullshit to bash this game for no reason
>The stars in the US flag are replaced with crosses because a star is affiliated with Soviet Russia, which was marxist, and the devs only want to associate right wing politics with evil in the game
>another jewbisoft open world checklist grindan gaem
>people are actually hyped for this shit
You mean like 90% of FC5 threads that happened?
it's set in a small town though that hasn't happened in a farcry game before
kek, that comment belongs on Sup Forums but you were clever so you get a slide
>marxism
>soviet russia
>right wing
shit game probably
>Buying
Pirate is a way to go, desu. Especially its singleplayer multiplatform shooter. Not even worth the fullprice even on previous titles.
Plus i won't support an agenda pushing title.
>subjective opinions passed off as facts
mmm gurrrlll gimmie more of dat
It's because he isn't the villain.
The Golden Path and you are the villains.
That is the point of the Far Cry series is most of the time the villain isn't the bad guy, the bad guy is the main character who tries to fix 3rd world countries with first world morals but find that they are pointless away from the first world.
I am basically in it for the hunting and seeing how jack/jackal is involved.
Well enjoy 9 months of shitthreading and shitposting for nine months then, oh with a slight Sup Forums added as sugarcoat.
Not that I hate Sup Forums but it won't blend well.
>That is the point of the Far Cry series is most of the time the villain isn't the bad guy, the bad guy is the main character who tries to fix 3rd world countries with first world morals but find that they are pointless away from the first world.
This guy gets it. You can't just roll it and fix shit.
Wasn't there just a game released that had a charismatic redneck patriarch as the villain?
Ubi really struck gold here, didn't they.
Yes, but ironically.
Take your meds and learn to read. This is how a regressive caricature sees things: Stars = Soviet Russia = Marxism = Equality = Left wing = Good. Crosses = Christianity = Conservatism = Right wing= Bad.
this.
hide and report
Woe to the user who leads my thread astray, for if I am not their SJW, then I must be the shill.
It's shameful how many people don't get this shit.
I agree that 3 didn't do it as well as 2 and 4, but still.
I can only imagine these people don't read for pleasure.
i want a game where I can lose a culture war
>Religious black guy
>in the south
>that uses guns
>SWJ
>Montana
>south
>religious guy
>in the Montana
>that uses guns
>SJW
happy?
3 plot isn't that deep, it's just The Beach the videogame.
>This is what Vaas was talking about, when mentioning insanity.
No, Ubi is doing the same thing over and over, but they're not epecting things to change. They're expecting to make bank like always.
I WNAT TO COME IN MARY MAY
>but how are they supposed to make this good with primal only coming out a little over a year ago
Every day it fucking astounds me more and more how little the people on this board know not only about video games but video game development as well.
You've reminded me why talking to people on here is a waste.
3 had a great villain though, Vaas basically carried the first half of the game. 3s plot was more about how Jason became a bloodthirsty murderer while chasing a bloodthirsty murderer.
It's going to be shit, don't fool yourself. I can see it from here already:
>icons on map
>go to icon and press X for rewards
>use rewards to unlock skills, buy weapons and craft stuff
>linear story missions set in limited areas, leave area and you lose
>"tail that target"
>"kill that guy"
>"don't get spotted"
>"steal a car"
>get fucked by a native and killed afterwards
>credits roll
>"please buy DLC and gun paint jobs"
There you go, I saved you $60 and 12 hours. If anything, it's going to be even shittier than Wildlands, the game that stretched Ubisoft's generic open world formula so thin, that I'm at a loss of words to describe just how atrocious and empty it is.
Same as Assassin's Creed. Same as Watch Dogs. Don't you guys ever learn?
The shilling in this thread is completely obvious
they don't need to try
they rehashed Far Cry 3 with neon colors, called it Blood Dragon and everyone was all over it as if it was the second coming
they don't need to try at all to get praise and sales, that's pretty much a given
Ganon didn't do nothing wrong tho
Fuck off with these threads shill
>but how are they supposed to make this good with primal only coming out a little over a year ago?
They're not. It's just Ubisoft reskinning the same game they've made 6-7 times already.
Except this time they made the new skin something 'controversial' so everyone talks about that, rather than about how you're paying $60 to climb up a radio tower and unlock the map which you've already done 500 times if you've played more than 3 of their games
