I'm not turned off at all by old-school RPGs (I also love Phantasy Star II, old DQ, etc.), so a lot of the things that turn people off about that first game don't get to me.

Its storyline is the most focused, I think it's the most emotionally compelling (its free from the winking of Earthbound, the forced melodrama of Mother 3), I like the soundtrack the best.
