Switch Discussion

What are you currently playing on your Nintendo Switch? What Switch games are you most excited for?

Bought my switch last week. Only been playing BoTW, hyped for spla2n though. Cant wait to E-liter my way to S+ again

I finished both Breath of the Wild and MK8 Deluxe, so now I am just waiting on games. Plan on getting Mario + Rabbids, Yooka Laylee when it comes to Switch, and Odyssey. I'm on the fence with Sonic Mania, cause I really enjoy and had fun with Sonic 2 back then, but I sucked at the game and could never beat it. So I dunno if I should buy a game that I know I won't do well at.

I played the fuck out of Best of the Worst, then Shovel Knight Treasure Trove.

Now between GTA Online and Minecraft on PC and revisiting the Halo series story on Xbone, I'm simply waiting for something else to justify my Switch purchase. I mean September seems so far away but it's actually just 3 months.

How do you finish mk8?

Is it easy for people to get 3 stars in each cup on 150/200cc? Or am I just bad?

When are they releasing a version with Wiiu, 3ds and ds backwards compatibility or whatever? Shit almost every Nintendo system has had it.

200cc is pretty tough, and if you're not very good you run a big risk of getting fucked by item rng. It's probably easiest to do with baby Peach/Daisy and a bike.

Currently playing Zelda, Snake Pass, and MK8.

Eagerly awaiting Pokken and Splatoon 2. Also waiting for Pocket Rumble to be released on Switch, hopefully it'll be sometime soon.

I started in 50cc and worked my way up the cups to get as much gameplay out of the game as possible. By the time I had reached 150cc, I had memorized all the courses entirely. 200cc had me breaking nearly all the time, but since the computers don't seem to be able to do that, they wouldn't catch up to me much. Two of the DLC cups at 200cc made me have to restart the most. One was the one with cheese land, and the other was the one with ribbon road. Yeah, sorry dude, you may just be bad, I played and completely the game with all parts, all characters, and all cups at triple stars.

ARMS, finishing BotW, occaisonally fucking around in MK8

It's been a good time

I want to play ARMS for like a month, but don't want to buy it. Help.

BTW, for anybody interested GameStop has the Pokken Tournament Fight Pads on sale for very cheap right now. Ordered the standard and the Pikachu edition, and the entire thing cost me a little over $30 with standard shipping and tax.

The controllers are great too since the most recent system update on Switch allows them to work on Switch.

idk wait until there's more content later this year?

just wait until it gets some content updates, like get it in mid-july, you also could just rent it

NOA confirmed Metroid and Pokemon are both 2018

Finished BOTW and currentlty playing MK8 with friends and disgaea 5 alone

Im excited for MHW

Oh wait

they retracted those statements, the guy who said they meant to say "2018 and beyond"

also, those statements were mentioned by a literal who, not NOA's twitter

Been playing Disgaea 5 Complete, looking forward to Xenoblade

Nah, you're wrong.

how long until we can expect a proper outline of their online service?
i assume they'll clarify whether there will be VC or not at the same time
it's really what'll sell me on the console

>how long until we can expect a proper outline of their online service?

NOA: “A free, limited version of this app will be available for download in summer 2017.”

I'm expecting a direct in July to hype people up for Splatoon 2 and the new online structure.

MP4. SMO, Splatoon 2, Animal Crossing, Smash, SMT. I'm excited for a lot of games right now.

>Animal Crossing
oh yea, i forgot about that,

I'd say animal crossing switch would likely happen around spring 2019

Been Swapping between ARMS and Mighty Gunvolt Burst. The single player for ARMS is really challenging lv. 5 and above, so I've been using Gunvolt to chill out. Though that one's no cake walk either. Playing as Beck was pretty rough until I figured out bosses had elemental weaknesses; then it's a matter of memorizing patterns.
I stood waaaaay back from Mighty No. 9 when I saw the smoke rising from that kickstarter, but this one is pretty good overall.
I don't have a ton of time in my day to play ARMS online but I already know Minmin is best girl. That left arm charge is just too good to pass up.

ARMS

I ain't playing shit cause I can't fucking find one!!!

they're doing a major release EVERY MONTH, BOY!

I'm addicted to ARMS, it's so fun to get people down to their last slither of health and then let the timer go out.

What do you do against Mister Mommy?

>won't be able to find one before splatoon 2

suck a dick, nintendo

I got my Switch like a week ago. Didn't have Wii U, so I'm having a blast with MK8. BoTW is loads of fun, especially since the last 3D Zelda I played was Skyward Sword. Comparatively, this game is a masterpiece. I also picked up ARMS and I'm hooked. However, there's some things with the Switch fundamentally that I take issue with.

>No music player
How do I listen to tunes while I'm kicking ass?

>No individual volume controls
I want to hear Zelda's music tracks louder than they are by default

>activity timer doesn't show you hours for first 10 days
Just WHY? It's such a bizarre design choice

>no voice chat
Hopefully is added with the new Nintendo app

Also, anyone who has it, how is Minecraft on switch? Worth it? What about Bomberman?

I punch him in the face. If he's trying to health up I try to grab him then he punches the grab out of the way and I jump outta the way. Repeat for 20 seconds or I just kill him.

Been playing ARMS. Trying to get better with the motion controls but I just suck dick with them compared to the pro controller

Really excited for Splatoon 2. I missed out on the first one but my friend said it was great. Saw the tournament during E3 and now I'm really hyped.

i love my Nintendo Switch

That's a lot of dust.

Will we ever see GameCube games?

Got it just this past Sunday. I am playing BotW and Mario Kart. Pretty fun so far. Played with a coworker on lunch today.

Clean your house you lazy nigger

Any good at Mario Kart?

I'm pretty meh right now. Been doing Grand Prix in order right now and just started the 100cc. I barley found out that you can turn off that stupid smart steering shit.

Nothing rigjt now. I'm hyped for the Pokémon switch games.

Pokémon's job listing suggests 2018.

Counting the days till Splatoon 2.

Bought my Switch yesterday and Zelda.

I played a few hours on my friend's Wii U version so I'm not up to any new stuff yet but damn it feels good to not be tethered to the TV, while still having the option easily.

I have not played or seen much gameplay on the Wii U. Did the game pad have any gimmicks?

I've mainly been splitting my time between Mighty Gunvolt Burst, Tumbleseed and Minecraft.
I would have bought ARMS by now but I'm waiting on an additional payment to come through first.
Splatoon 2 is going to be amazing.

Got switch at launch and have played all the main shit + puyopuyo as they came out, got arms a day ago and have been playing that. I don't regret it but it is a far cry from the next splatoon. There is not much there to keep you coming back it is really gonna have to hinge on getting an itch for that type of gameplay.

The issue with the whole "1 game a month, usually" from nintendo thing is that if you are lukewarm or don't care about that game, you are fucked in a long ass drought. Thank god I bought a ps4 a month before the switch. Splatoon is going to be fantastic, I mean it will need to be because then it's a month and a half til rabbids. I really want that fucking blazblue port aksys has promised us and for fromsoft to just give us Dark Souls already, idk how good they wanted the switch sales to be but they are as good as possible 6 months in.

I just preordered a bundle for 399 (plus tax ends up at 459). Comes with Arms and 64gb sd card. Did I make a good choice? I can't find any fucking single units anywhere. Is tgis a decent bundle for the price?

Nope it's totally normal. Considering the tablet Link uses I was expecting gimmicks but there are none. I didn't mind

>don't care about that game, you are fucked in a long ass drought.
>1 month is a drought
kek. You retards are hilarious

HELLO. I AM RICHARD GRIMNEY FROM LITTLE ROCK ARANSAS AND MY FAVORITE GAME FOR THE NINTENDO SWITCH IS MINECRAFT NINTENDO SWITCH EDITION AND THE GAME I AM MOST EXCITED FOR IS SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY FOR THE NINTENDO SWITCH AND THAT IS ALL THANK YOU Sup Forums

Currently I've been playing Arms religiously and a bit of Minecraft on the side. Although I'm just waiting for BOTW hard mode and Splatoon 2.

You know that the average consumer buys maybe ten games through a console's life, right? And that's for a very successful console.

I think it's a pretty good deal desu. You're essentially just paying for the console and the game. SD card is the freebie, but you might wanna upgrade to something a bit higher in the future.

I've been playing ARMS, Mighty Gunvolt Burst, and Cave Story+.
I've gotten pretty good at hitting my mark with straight forward arms using motion controls in ARMS, but I just can't into curving weapons like boomerang or birds. I should probably just force myself to use only them for a few hours.

is there a reason to get this if you have a pro controller already?

Mothafuckin DISGAEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I skipped it on the PS4 because I didn't wanna get a console for 1 game, so when I heard it was getting a Switch port the console was essentially sold for me. Plus NIS promises to continue supporting the console, so I hope their new fake Minecraft SRPG hits it as well.
I'm also playing a lot of ARMS, I went in wanting to play Springaling, but Ribbon is a lot of fun. I'm learning Mechanica too, her super armor and ability to move while charging is super good, I wonder if she's a secret high tier?

Had to send mine back for a small fix. It sucks waiting for my retarded distributor, been waiting a week now.

It was just a small thing - the plastic hook that secures my left Joy-Con doesn't slide out by itself wasn't pushed out far enough and it didn't work, so I decided to send it to them for a fix. Now I'm kinda mad, since I'm sitting here with unopened ARMS and Disgaea 5. Fuck.

This says more about how fucking filthy you are than how good or bad the console is.

Waiting for Mario&Rabbids(fuck off I thought it looked cool). Not playing anything on my switch atm, a friend finally convinced me to buy minecraft on PC and am seriously having fun.

Much better D-Pad for Ultra Street Fighter 2, the NeoGeo ACA ports, Blaster Master Zero, Mighty Gunvolt Burst etc.

Even the 8bitdo SNES controller has shit diagonals.

i'm torn between waiting until i can find a switch, or just getting disgaea on ps4 right now.

Wait for Switch, it works amazingly well as a portable title.

>on your Nintendo Switch
I'm waiting for the improved version of the Switch to come out. It will take a year, two at most, but it will happen, and it will be much more refined than the first generation, as always. By that time, all the games I want to play (BoTW, Mario Odissey, Mario+Rabbids, Yoshi) will be sold at a discount.

I'm actually surprised that with how many fucking views the Painful Launch video for, the Switch still became the fastest selling Nintendo console

Not even a defect video can stop it

>sold at a discount
Oh, seems like you're new to Nintendo my friend, enjoy your prices. :3

>Not even a defect video can stop it
A shitty defect video at that. It was just a series of videos of people complaining without you knowing just how many of them destroyed the console on purpose. Bitching always gets views, that's why 4ch got so popular.

Forgot that there will also be a much wider second hand market.

Been playing arms

Mostly bveing a tall green tube that shoots laser everywhere. I expect it feels like shit to play against and people hate me but fuck them they can learn. DNA man carried me to lvl 5 grand prix, and outside a few character causing me trouble (Byte and Barq, Mechanica if she has hammers and kid cobra) i suspect i could do 6 and 7 quite soon

>bought a switch with tax returns in April
>BotW is amazing and everything I hoped for
>100% it
>been off since then
It was a fun couple months though.

Hmm i wonder what's being released for switch this week

>A neo Geo game
>A wind waker rip off mobile game
>That's it

Switch is totally alive and receiving support you guys!

Been playing Cave Story. Only played the original ages ago and never even got the true ending. Until coop mode comes out though, not even a really cute instruction booklet with a buncha drawings makes this really worth it. Weird they had to just vaguely promise the mode in "late summer" rather than delay the game to launch with it.

ARMS I have to admit wore thin on me faster than I hoped. Back to Puyo Puyo and Mario Kart I suppose.

Woops, didn't mean to reply to that guy.

In what world do you live in where Nintendo updates consoles?

They only ever do it to their handhelds

And Switch is a handheld?

The current switch model has a fuck ton of problems with many compliants from customers (shit like how the Joy cons get stuck and shit). Nintendo would have to be retarded not to release an updated model soon after the back lash

>They only ever do it to their handhelds
>implying the Switch isn't a handheld

>like how the Joy cons get stuck and shit
How do people manage to do that?

Doesn't matter how dude the fact of the matter is its happened to enough people that it's became a problem.

>How do people manage to do that?
Stupidity, lack of attention, lack of experience, or combination of these three: remember the Switch is marketed towards children and retards, so it must be completely idiot proof, and in this current iteration it isn't.

So if enough people destroy something it means it's the company's problem, not them being idiots who don't read instructions?

Watch that crowbcat or what ever he's called YouTube video. It's honestly not that hard to get your Joy cons stuck, it happened to mine but I got it repaired.

Whether a problem exists or not does kinda matter, though you're right that if gone viral enough, people will believe it regardless of how true it is. For example, the bent system meme.

The fuck? Yes? Its happened to a fuck ton of people dude and Is an easy as fuck mistake to do, don't dick ride your company so much your drone is showing.

Link?

Don't have a Switch and I'm not shelling out $600 to scalpers.

I'm replaying Shantae on hard, just finished it 100% on normal

Playing some online rounds of MK8 in between and working through Snipperclips with my gf

Previously played BotW(140hrs), Shovel Knight and Fast RMX

I'm excited for BotW DLC, Hollow Knight, Mario + Rabbids, Super a Mario Odyssey, Rayman Legends & Ira

>Order a few Zelda Amiibo cards
>2 weeks since then
>Still haven't arrived
>tfw can't use the Amiibo costumes now

I remember that one stream right at the launch, where the hosts got their joycons stuck.

What's this weird "scalper switch" meme? The game store in my home town has a fuck ton of the consoles in it all for its original asking price (but then again I live in Ireland, the Irish don't really seem to care for the switch as much as they do the play station and xbox one I guess)

>Loud minority overblown by Crowbcat video

The Switch is fine and it only happened to launch systems

Well, trial of the sword comes out June 30 if you want more Zelda

>Still absolutely no one posting an example/demonstration/how to
I know if you put those little joycon topper things on backwards they get a little stuck but you can brute force it out without breaking anything or having to send the system in. You're telling me people get it stuck to the system somehow?

Yes, but they aren't sure. That's why they qualified in the direct with a "a year or more". It may or may not be delayed.

>mod keeps deleting that Nintendo stock thread

Hmmm...

No, that's pretty much it. They slid on the wrist strap bars backwards.

I think people have pot the joycons on backwards on the Switch, but they we're removable like normal.

why do people got it backwards, there are things like icons and notifiers to show how it's done

I don't even have a Switch and saw the "how to play with Joycons" nintendo made, and it's so simple with labels and such

Oh, that's the actual problem people were talking about? I've had friends do that twice now but you just kinda push a little harder and it comes out. No tools or anything. It's mildly annoying but kinda horrifically overblown from the way this thread was taking about it...
