What are your honest thoughts on Monster Hunter World? Be sincere.

Needs to be out asap so I can throw my money at it.

I've only played 3U and 4U, but I'm looking foward to it. Looks like it'll be fun.

I tried a lot of monhun clones, Freedom Wars, Toukiden and God Eater, but ended up quitting them midway thru due to excessive grinding and repetition.
If monhun is half the chore any of those games are, I'm out, I won't even bother hating it.

Honestly looks great and I can't wait for it to come out

After watching the demo, it's gonna be ok.

Can't wait, I love hunting games. And MH isn't as much of a weeb oriented game like GE or Toukiden 2 so I might be able to get my friends to play.

Looks semi-casualized, I hope I am wrong OR that there's a lot of options and ways to avoid newer changes and have fun playing solo. I'm apprehensive, but will likely get it after I've seen footage of regular people who have played older MH titles.

I tried 3 on WiiU, didn't care for it due to all the grinding needed.

I'll probably skip it unless they get rid of all the grinding for materials and RNG drops.

I am excited but also worried. Looking forward to seeing more gameplay.

this finally seems like a new game so i'm excited.

Honestly reminds me a lot of Gen as in it's going to be a faster paced MH game with flash mechanics. Sure there's no arts or styles, but with the grapple hook and special weapon attacks, it's going to be close.

I like the aspect of open maps and faster item consumption, but I worry there's going to be too much "lure the monster here and use the environment!" and random monsters popping up as a gimmick is going to be annoying if it's heavily implemented into the game.

I'm still looking forward to it and hope for more details soon.

monster hunter is a grinding game, but it is the only grinding game I like because no battle is the same when the monsters are strong. Though I hate battles like gogma, the snake and others similar to that

Although, I must admit that the whole thing looks a bit shady, with all the rumors going around.
Until it's released, we won't know for sure tho.

The first trailer made it look like westernized trash, but recent ones show the combat at least hasn't changed much. With any luck it won't be the casualized uncharted bullshit I thought it was going to be.

I've tried and failed three different times to get into Monster Hunter and it just doesn't click for me. World looks a bit different, but I don't want to grab it until I can play a demo. Hopefully there is one.

I'm honestly glad they're trying something different and it's on PC.

MH wasn't getting stale for me, but a nice change of pace is good sometimes. If it fails (it may) I don't need to worry because the JP catered releases are still a thing.

As someone who got into MonHun with Tri, went back to FU, and then played every proceeding game afterwards, what worries me the most about Worlds, aside from the lack of details about what we can expect from it, is how well it's going to sell.

Taking a series that has had its greatest successes with handhelds due to the entire Japanese infrastructure and moving it onto a console is a risky move, especially when it's still a pretty niche series in the rest of the world. If it doesn't do as well as 4U or Gen, that might put the MonHun dev team in an awkward position.

I don't mind grinding if the gameplay manages to be enjoyable, the titles I mentioned were definitively not fun past certain point.
Small maps, same monsters over and over except bosses (until they return as minions) a story complerely disconnected from what you do in game, and no difference between a low lv sword and a high lv one except in damage input.

there's maybe 5 monsters from gen 2 that are worth bringing back again, the rest are dogshit

co-op is one of the biggest draws of monster hunter. there are a bunch of people who play the games solo, but it's a pretty minuscule amount.
